1 Originally, was, the Word, and, the Word, was, with God; and, the Word, was, God.

3 All things, through him, came into existence, and, without him, came into existence, not even one thing: that which hath come into existence,

4 in him, was, life, and, the life, was, the light of men.—
4 A vida estava nele e a vida era a luz dos homens.
5 And, the light, in the darkness, shineth; and, the darkness, thereof, laid not hold.

6 There arose a man, sent from God, whose name was, John:
6 Houve um homem enviado por Deus cujo nome era João.
7 The same, came, for a witness, That he might bear witness, concerning the light, that, all, might believe, through him.

8 He, was not the light,—but, that he might bear witness concerning the light,
8 Ele não era a luz, mas veio para que testificasse da luz,
9 It, was—The real light that enlighteneth every man—Coming into the world.
9 a saber, a verdadeira luz, que, vinda ao mundo, ilumina a todo homem.
10 In the world, he was, and, the world, through him, came into existence, and, the world, knew him not.
10 O Verbo estava no mundo, o mundo foi feito por intermédio dele, mas o mundo não o conheceu.
11 Into his own possessions, he came, and, his own people, received him not home.
11 Veio para o que era seu, e os seus não o receberam.
12 But, as many as did receive him, he gave, unto them, authority, children of God, to become,—unto them who were believing on his name:
12 Mas, a todos quantos o receberam, deu-lhes o poder de serem feitos filhos de Deus, a saber, aos que creem no seu nome;
13 Who—not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but—of God, were born.
13 os quais não nasceram do sangue, nem da vontade da carne, nem da vontade do homem, mas de Deus.
14 And, the Word, became, flesh, and pitched his tent among us, and we gazed upon his glory,—a glory, as an Only-begotten from his Father. Full of favour and truth.
14 E o Verbo se fez carne e habitou entre nós, cheio de graça e de verdade, e vimos a sua glória, glória como do unigênito do Pai.
15 (John beareth witness concerning him, and hath cried aloud, saying—the same, was he that said—He who, after me, was coming, before me, hath advanced; because, my Chief, was he.)
15 João testemunha a respeito dele e exclama: Este é o de quem eu disse: o que vem depois de mim tem, contudo, a primazia, porquanto já existia antes de mim.
16 Because, out of his fulness, we all, received, even favour over against favour.
16 Porque todos nós temos recebido da sua plenitude e graça sobre graça.
17 Because, the law, through Moses, was given, favour and truth, through Jesus Christ, came into existence.
17 Porque a lei foi dada por intermédio de Moisés; a graça e a verdade vieram por meio de Jesus Cristo.
18 No one, hath seen, God, at any time: An Only Begotten God, The One existing within the bosom of the Father, He, hath interpreted [him] .
18 Ninguém jamais viu a Deus; o Deus unigênito, que está no seio do Pai, é quem o revelou.
19 And, this, is the witness of John, when the Jews sent forth unto him, out of Jerusalem, priests and Levites,—that they might question him—Who art, thou?
19 Este foi o testemunho de João, quando os judeus lhe enviaram de Jerusalém sacerdotes e levitas para lhe perguntarem: Quem és tu?
20 and he confessed, and did not deny,—and he confessed—I, am not, the Christ;
20 Ele confessou e não negou; confessou: Eu não sou o Cristo.
21 and they questioned him—What then? Art, thou, Elijah? and he saith—I am not; The prophet, art, thou? and he answered—No!
21 Então, lhe perguntaram: Quem és, pois? És tu Elias? Ele disse: Não sou. És tu o profeta? Respondeu: Não.
22 So they said unto him—Who, art thou? that, an answer, we may give, unto them who sent us,—What sayest thou, concerning thyself?
22 Disseram-lhe, pois: Declara-nos quem és, para que demos resposta àqueles que nos enviaram; que dizes a respeito de ti mesmo?
23 He said—I, am a Voice, of one crying aloud;—In the desert, make ye straight, the way of the Lord: according as said Isaiah the prophet.
23 Então, ele respondeu: Eu sou a voz do que clama no deserto: Endireitai o caminho do Senhor, como disse o profeta Isaías.
24 And they had been sent forth from among the Pharisees;
24 Ora, os que haviam sido enviados eram de entre os fariseus.
25 and they questioned him, and said unto him—Why, then, dost thou immerse,—if, thou, art not, the Christ, nor Elijah, nor, the Prophet?
25 E perguntaram-lhe: Então, por que batizas, se não és o Cristo, nem Elias, nem o profeta?
26 John answered them, saying—I, immerse, in water. In the midst of you, standeth one, whom, ye, know not;—
26 Respondeu-lhes João: Eu batizo com água; mas, no meio de vós, está quem vós não conheceis,
27 after me, coming:—Of whom, I, am not worthy that I should unloose the thong of the sandal.
27 o qual vem após mim, do qual não sou digno de desatar-lhe as correias das sandálias.
28 These things, in Bethany, came to pass, beyond the Jordan, where John was, immersing.
28 Estas coisas se passaram em Betânia, do outro lado do Jordão, onde João estava batizando.
29 On the morrow, he beholdeth Jesus, coming unto him, and saith—See! the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.
29 No dia seguinte, viu João a Jesus, que vinha para ele, e disse: Eis o Cordeiro de Deus, que tira o pecado do mundo!
30 This, is he, of whom, I, said—After me, cometh a man, who, before me, hath advanced, because, my Chief, was he.
30 É este a favor de quem eu disse: após mim vem um varão que tem a primazia, porque já existia antes de mim.
31 And, I, knew him not, but, that he might be manifested unto Israel, therefore, came, I, in water, immersing.
31 Eu mesmo não o conhecia, mas, a fim de que ele fosse manifestado a Israel, vim, por isso, batizando com água.
32 And John bare witness, saying—I have gazed upon the Spirit, descending like a dove, out of heaven,—and it abode upon him.
32 E João testemunhou, dizendo: Vi o Espírito descer do céu como pomba e pousar sobre ele.
33 And, I, knew him not,—but, he that sent me to immerse in water, he, unto me, said—Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding upon him, the same, is he that immerseth in Holy Spirit.
33 Eu não o conhecia; aquele, porém, que me enviou a batizar com água me disse: Aquele sobre quem vires descer e pousar o Espírito, esse é o que batiza com o Espírito Santo.
34 I, therefore, have seen, and borne witness—That, this, is, the, Son of God.
34 Pois eu, de fato, vi e tenho testificado que ele é o Filho de Deus.
35 On the morrow, again, was John standing, and, from among his disciples, two;
35 No dia seguinte, estava João outra vez na companhia de dois dos seus discípulos
36 and, looking at Jesus walking, he saith—See! the Lamb of God!
36 e, vendo Jesus passar, disse: Eis o Cordeiro de Deus!
37 and the two disciples hearkened unto him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
37 Os dois discípulos, ouvindo-o dizer isto, seguiram Jesus.
38 But Jesus, turning, and looking at them following, saith unto them—What seek ye? And, they, said unto him—Rabbi! which meaneth, when translated, Teacher, Where abidest thou?
38 E Jesus, voltando-se e vendo que o seguiam, disse-lhes: Que buscais? Disseram-lhe: Rabi (que quer dizer Mestre), onde assistes?
39 He saith unto them—Be coming, and ye shall see. They came, therefore, and saw where he abode, and, with him, they abode that day. It was about the tenth, hour.
39 Respondeu-lhes: Vinde e vede. Foram, pois, e viram onde Jesus estava morando; e ficaram com ele aquele dia, sendo mais ou menos a hora décima.
40 One of the two that heard from John and followed him, was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter.
40 Era André, o irmão de Simão Pedro, um dos dois que tinham ouvido o testemunho de João e seguido Jesus.
41 The same findeth, first, his own brother Simon, and saith unto him—We have found the Messiah! which is, when translated, Anointed.
41 Ele achou primeiro o seu próprio irmão, Simão, a quem disse: Achamos o Messias (que quer dizer Cristo),
42 He led him unto Jesus. Jesus, looking at him, said—Thou, art Simon, the son of John,—thou, shalt be called, Cephas; which is to be translated, Peter.
42 e o levou a Jesus. Olhando Jesus para ele, disse: Tu és Simão, o filho de João; tu serás chamado Cefas (que quer dizer Pedro).
43 On the morrow, he desired to go forth into Galilee. And Jesus findeth Philip, and saith unto him—Be following me!
43 No dia imediato, resolveu Jesus partir para a Galileia e encontrou a Filipe, a quem disse: Segue-me.
44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
44 Ora, Filipe era de Betsaida, cidade de André e de Pedro.
45 Philip, findeth, Nathanael, and saith unto him—Him, of whom wrote Moses in the law, and the Prophets, have we found.—Jesus, son of Joseph, him from Nazareth!
45 Filipe encontrou a Natanael e disse-lhe: Achamos aquele de quem Moisés escreveu na lei, e a quem se referiram os profetas: Jesus, o Nazareno, filho de José.
46 And Nathanael said unto him—Out of Nazareth, can any good thing come? Philip saith unto him—Come, and see!
46 Perguntou-lhe Natanael: De Nazaré pode sair alguma coisa boa? Respondeu-lhe Filipe: Vem e vê.
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming unto him, and saith concerning him—See! Truly, an Israelite, in whom is no guile.
47 Jesus viu Natanael aproximar-se e disse a seu respeito: Eis um verdadeiro israelita, em quem não há dolo!
48 Nathanael saith unto him—Whence, dost thou, know, me? Jesus answered, and said unto him—Before Philip called thee,—when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee.
48 Perguntou-lhe Natanael: Donde me conheces? Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Antes de Filipe te chamar, eu te vi, quando estavas debaixo da figueira.
49 Nathanael answered him—Rabbi! thou, art, the Son of God: Thou, art, King, of Israel.
49 Então, exclamou Natanael: Mestre, tu és o Filho de Deus, tu és o Rei de Israel!
50 Jesus answered, and said unto him—Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig-tree, believest thou? A greater thing than these, shalt thou see!
50 Ao que Jesus lhe respondeu: Porque te disse que te vi debaixo da figueira, crês? Pois maiores coisas do que estas verás.
51 And he saith unto him—Verily, verily, I say unto you: Ye shall see heaven—when set open, and, the messengers of God, ascending and descending unto the Son of Man.
51 E acrescentou: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que vereis o céu aberto e os anjos de Deus subindo e descendo sobre o Filho do Homem.
