1 Awake, awake, Put on thy strength, O Zion,—Put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem—thou holy city, For there shall not again come into thee any more the uncircumcised and unclean.
1 Desperte, desperte, ó Sião! Vista-se de força! Ponha suas lindas roupas, ó cidade santa de Jerusalém, pois os incircuncisos e os impuros não entrarão mais por seus portões.
2 Shake thyself from the dust arise—sit down O Jerusalem,—Loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive! daughter of Zion!
2 Levante-se do pó, ó Jerusalém, sente-se no lugar de honra. Tire de seu pescoço as correntes de escravidão, ó cativa Sião.
3 For, thus, saith Yahweh, For nought, ye sold yourselves,—And not with silver, shall ye be redeemed,
3 Pois assim diz o S enhor : “Quando eu a vendi ao exílio, não recebi pagamento algum. Agora a resgatarei sem ter de pagar por você”.
4 For, thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, To Egypt, went down my people at first to sojourn there,—But, Assyria, without cause, hath oppressed him.
4 Assim diz o S enhor Soberano: “Há muito tempo, meu povo escolheu morar no Egito. Agora, a Assíria os oprime sem nenhuma razão.
5 Now, therefore, what do I here? Demandeth Yahweh. That my people have been taken away for nought? They who rule them, do howl, Declareth Yahweh, And, continually—all the day, is my Name brought into contempt.
5 O que é isso?”, pergunta o S enhor . “Por que meu povo foi escravizado novamente? Aqueles que os dominam gritam de alegria. Meu nome é blasfemado o dia inteiro.
6 Therefore, shall my people acknowledge my Name: Therefore, in that day, shall they acknowledge that, I, am the same, even I who am speaking,—Here, I am,
6 Mas eu revelarei meu nome ao meu povo, e eles, por fim, reconhecerão que sou eu quem fala com eles.”
7 How beautiful, upon the mountains are the feet—Of him That bringeth good tidings, That publisheth peace, That bringeth good tidings of blessing, That publisheth salvation,—That saith unto Zion, Thy God, hath become king.
7 Como são belos sobre os montes os pés do mensageiro que traz boas-novas, boas-novas de paz e salvação, de que o Deus de Israel
8 The voice of thy watchmen! They have uplifted a voice Together, do they renew the shout of triumph,—For eye to eye, shall they see, When Yahweh returneth to Zion.
8 Os vigias gritam e cantam de alegria, pois, com os próprios olhos, veem o S
9 Break forth, shout in triumph together, ye waste places of Jerusalem,—For Yahweh Hath comforted his people, Hath redeemed Jerusalem:
9 Que as ruínas de Jerusalém gritem de alegria, pois o S ele resgatou Jerusalém.
10 Yahweh hath bared his holy arm, in the eyes of all the nations, So shall all the ends of the earth see the salvation of our God.
10 O S enhor mostrou seu santo poder diante dos olhos de todas as nações. Todos os confins da terra verão a salvação de nosso Deus.
11 Away! away! come, forth from thence!—Nought unclean, may ye touch,—Come forth out of her midst, Purify yourselves, ye who are to carry the vessels of Yahweh;
11 Saiam! Saiam e deixem para trás o cativeiro, não toquem no que é impuro. Saiam daí e purifiquem-se, vocês que levam de volta os objetos sagrados do S
12 For, not in haste, shall ye come forth, Nor, by flight, shall ye journey,—For, your van-guard, is Yahweh, And, your rear-guard, the God of Israel.
12 Não partirão às pressas, como quem foge para salvar a vida, pois o S sim, o Deus de Israel os protegerá na retaguarda.
13 Lo! my Servant, prospereth,—He riseth, and is lifted up, and becometh very high:
13 Vejam, meu servo terá êxito; será muito exaltado.
14 The more that Many, were amazed at thee, So marred, beyond any man’s, was his appearance,—And his form, beyond the sons of men,
14 Muitos, porém, ficaram espantados quando o viram: seu rosto estava tão desfigurado que mal parecia humano; por seu aspecto, quase não era possível reconhecê-lo como homem.
15 The more doth he startle Many nations, Before him, have kings closed their mouth,—For, that which had not been related to them, have they seen, And that which they had not heard, haw they diligently considered.
15 Ele causará assombro em muitas nações; reis ficarão mudos diante dele, pois verão aquilo que ninguém lhes havia falado, entenderão aquilo que nunca tinham ouvido.
