1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw, concerning Judah and Jerusalem,—in the days of Uzziah Jotham Ahaz Hezekiah—kings of Judah.
1 Visão que Isaías, filho de Amoz, teve a respeito de Judá e Jerusalém, nos dias de Uzias, Jotão, Acaz e Ezequias, reis de Judá.
2 Hear O heavens, And give ear, O earth, for Yahweh, hath spoken:—Sons, have I brought up, and advanced, And, they, have rebelled against me.
2 Escutem, ó céus, e ouça, ó terra, porque o “Criei filhos e os fiz crescer, mas eles se revoltaram contra mim.
3 An ox knoweth, his owner, And an ass his masters crib,—Israel, doth not know, My people doth not consider.
3 O boi conhece o seu dono, e o jumento, o lugar onde lhe dão comida, mas Israel não tem conhecimento, o meu povo não entende.”
4 Alas! a nation—committing sin, a people—burdened with iniquity, a seed—practising wickedness, sons—acting corruptly. They have forsaken Yahweh despised the Holy One of Israel,—Are estranged and gone back.
4 Ai desta nação pecadora, deste povo carregado de iniquidade! São descendência de malfeitores, filhos que praticam o mal. Rejeitaram o desprezaram o Santo de Israel, voltaram para trás.
5 Why should ye be smitten any more? Ye would again turn aside! The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faint:
5 Por que vocês insistem em ser castigados? Por que continuam em rebeldia? Toda a cabeça está doente, e todo o coração está enfermo.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head, there is in it no soundness, Bruise and stripe and newly-made wound,—They have not been pressed out, nor bound up, nor soothed with oil.
6 Desde a planta do pé até o alto da cabeça não há nada são, a não ser feridas, contusões e chagas abertas, umas e outras que não foram limpas, nem atadas, nem tratadas com azeite.
7 Your country—is a desolation, Your cities—are consumed with fire,—Your soil—right before your eyes, foreigners are devouring it, And it is a desolation a very overthrow by foreigners;
7 A terra de vocês está devastada, as cidades foram consumidas pelo fogo. Quanto às lavouras, os estrangeiros as devoraram na presença de vocês, e a terra se acha devastada como numa destruição feita por estrangeiros.
8 And left is the Daughter of Zion, Like a hut in a vineyard,—Like a lodge in a gourd-plot Like a city besieged.
8 A filha de Sião foi deixada como cabana na vinha, como choupana no pepinal, como cidade sitiada.
9 If, Yahweh of hosts, had not left us a very small remnant, Like Sodom, had we become, Gomorrah, had we resembled.
9 Se o Senhor dos Exércitos não nos tivesse deixado alguns sobreviventes, já nos teríamos tornado como Sodoma e semelhantes a Gomorra.
10 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye rulers of Sodom,—Give ear to the instruction of our God, ye people of Gomorrah:—
10 Príncipes de Sodoma, escutem a palavra do Povo de Gomorra, dê ouvidos à lei do nosso Deus!
11 Of what use to me, is your multitude of sacrifices: Saith Yahweh: I am sated with ascending-offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts,—In the blood of bulls and young rams and he-goats, have I no pleasure.
11 O Senhor diz: “De que me serve a multidão dos sacrifícios que vocês oferecem? Estou farto dos holocaustos de carneiros e da gordura de animais cevados. Não me agrado do sangue de novilhos, nem de cordeiros, nem de bodes.
12 When ye enter to see my face, Who hath required this at your hand trampling my courts?
12 Quando comparecem diante de mim, quem requereu de vocês esse pisotear dos meus átrios?
13 Ye shall not again bring in an empty, present, Incense, an abomination, is that unto me! New moon, and sabbath calling an assembly—I cannot endure, iniquity and sacred festival!
13 Não me tragam mais ofertas vãs! O incenso é para mim abominação, e também as Festas da Lua Nova, os sábados e a convocação das assembleias. Não posso suportar iniquidade associada à reunião solene.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts, my soul, hateth,—They have become unto me a burden I am too weary to bear:
14 As Festas da Lua Nova e as solenidades, a minha alma as odeia; já são um peso para mim; estou cansado de suportá-las.”
15 Even when ye spread forth your open palms, I hide mine eyes from you; Yea, though ye multiply prayers, I am not hearkening,—Your hands, with deeds of blood, are filled.
15 “Quando vocês estendem as mãos, eu fecho os meus olhos; sim, quando multiplicam as suas orações, não as ouço, porque as mãos de vocês estão cheias de sangue.
16 Wash you make you clean, Put away the wickedness of your doings from before mine eyes,—Cease to do evil.
16 Lavem-se e purifiquem-se! Tirem da minha presença a maldade dos seus atos; parem de fazer o mal!
17 Learn to do well—Seek justice, Correct the oppressor,—Vindicate the fatherless, Plead the cause of the widow,
17 Aprendam a fazer o bem; busquem a justiça, repreendam o opressor; garantam o direito dos órfãos, defendam a causa das viúvas.”
18 Come, I pray you, and let us settle the dispute Saith Yahweh,—Though your sins be found like scarlet, As snow, shall they be made white, Though they appear red like crimson, As wool, shall they become.
18 O Senhor diz: “Venham, pois, e vamos discutir a questão. Ainda que os pecados de vocês sejam como o escarlate, eles se tornarão brancos como a neve; ainda que sejam vermelhos como o carmesim, eles se tornarão como a lã.
19 If ye be willing—and hearken Of the good of the land, shall ye eat;
19 Se estiverem dispostos e me ouvirem, vocês comerão o melhor desta terra.
20 But, if ye refuse and rebel, With the sword, shall ye be devoured, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken it.
20 Mas, se recusarem e forem rebeldes, vocês serão devorados pela espada; porque a boca do
21 How hath she become unchaste!—The city that was Faithful,—Full of justice, Righteousness lodged in her, But, now, murderers!
21 Como se fez prostituta a cidade fiel, ela que estava cheia de justiça! Nela habitava a retidão, mas agora só restaram assassinos.
22 Thy silver, hath become dross,—Thy wine, weakened with water;
22 Jerusalém, a sua prata se tornou escória, o seu licor se misturou com água.
23 Thy rulers, are unruly, and companions of thieves, Every one of the people, loveth a bribe, and runneth after rewards,—The fatherless, they do not vindicate, And, the plea of the widow, reacheth them not.
23 Os seus príncipes são rebeldes e companheiros de ladrões. Cada um deles ama o suborno e corre atrás de recompensas. Eles não defendem o direito do órfão, e a causa das viúvas não chega diante deles.
24 Therefore, Declareth the Lord Yahweh of hosts, The Mighty One of Israel,—Alas! I must appease me on mine adversaries, I must avenge me on mine enemies
24 Por isso, o Senhor, o o Poderoso de Israel, diz: “Ah! Acertarei as contas com os meus adversários e me vingarei dos meus inimigos.
25 That I may turn my hand against thee, And smelt away, as with potash, thy dross, And remove all thine alloy;
25 Voltarei a minha mão contra você, Jerusalém, purificando-a da sua escória como se faz com potassa e tirando de você todo metal impuro.
26 That I may restore thy Judges as at the first, and thy Counsellors as at the beginning,—After that, shalt thou be called Righteous citadel, Trusty city,—
26 Eu lhe darei juízes como você tinha antigamente, e conselheiros, como no princípio. Depois disso você será chamada ‘Cidade da Justiça’, ‘Cidade Fiel’.”
27 Zion, with justice shall be redeemed,—And her returning ones, with righteousness;
27 Sião será redimida pelo direito, e os que se arrependem, pela justiça.
28 And the downfall of transgressors and sinners, shall be, together,—And, they who forsake Yahweh, shall be brought to an end;
28 Mas os transgressores e os pecadores serão juntamente destruídos, e os que deixarem o perecerão.
29 For they shall turn pale on account of the oaks which ye desired,—And ye shall blush on account of the gardens which ye had chosen;
29 Vocês terão vergonha dos carvalhos que cobiçaram e ficarão desiludidos por causa dos jardins sagrados que escolheram.
30 For ye shall be as an oak with its leaf faded, And as a garden that hath no, water;
30 Porque vocês serão como o carvalho cujas folhas murcham; serão como um jardim que não tem água.
31 Then shall the strong one become tow, And his work a spark,—And they shall both blaze together And there be none to quench the fire.
31 O forte se tornará como estopa, e a sua obra, como faísca; ambos serão queimados juntos, e não haverá quem apague o fogo.
