1 And the life of Sarah came to be, a hundred and twenty-seven years,—the years of the life of Sarah.
1 Tendo Sara vivido cento e vinte e sete anos,
2 And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron in the land of Canaan,—and Abraham went in to wail for Sarah and to weep for her.
2 morreu em Quiriate-Arba, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã; veio Abraão lamentar Sara e chorar por ela.
3 And Abraham rose up from over the face of his dead,—and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying;
3 Levantou-se, depois, Abraão da presença de sua morta e falou aos filhos de Hete:
4 A sojourner and settler, am I with you,—Give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, That I may bury my dead, from before me.
4 Sou estrangeiro e morador entre vós; dai-me a posse de sepultura convosco, para que eu sepulte a minha morta.
5 And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him:
5 Responderam os filhos de Hete a Abraão, dizendo:
6 Hear us, my lord! A prince of God, art thou in our midst, In the choice of our buryingplaces, bury thy dead,—Not, a man from among us his, burying-place, will withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.
6 Ouve-nos, senhor: tu és príncipe de Deus entre nós; sepulta numa das nossas melhores sepulturas a tua morta; nenhum de nós te vedará a sua sepultura, para sepultares a tua morta.
7 And Abraham rose up, and bowed himself down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth;
7 Então, se levantou Abraão e se inclinou diante do povo da terra, diante dos filhos de Hete.
8 and spake with them, saying,—If it is with the consent of your minds that I should bury my dead from before me, hear me, and intercede for me, with Ephron son of Zohar:
8 E lhes falou, dizendo: Se é do vosso agrado que eu sepulte a minha morta, ouvi-me e intercedei por mim junto a Efrom, filho de Zoar,
9 That he would give me, the cave of Machpelah, which pertaineth unto him, which is within the bounds of his field,—For full silver, let him give it me in your midst, For a possession of a buryingplace.
9 para que ele me dê a caverna de Macpela, que tem no extremo do seu campo; que ma dê pelo devido preço em posse de sepultura entre vós.
10 Now, Ephron, was sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth,—so Ephron the Hittite responded to Abraham, in the ears of the sons of Heth, even all that were entering the gate of his city, saying:
10 Ora, Efrom, o heteu, sentando-se no meio dos filhos de Hete, respondeu a Abraão, ouvindo-o os filhos de Hete, a saber, todos os que entravam pela porta da sua cidade:
11 Nay, my lord, hear me, The field, have I given to thee And, the cave that is therein, to thee, have I given it,—In the eyes of the sons of my people, have I given it thee Bury thy dead.
11 De modo nenhum, meu senhor; ouve-me: dou-te o campo e também a caverna que nele está; na presença dos filhos do meu povo te dou; sepulta a tua morta.
12 So Abraham boweth himself down, before the people of the land:
12 Então, se inclinou Abraão diante do povo da terra;
13 and spake unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land saying, Only if, thou, wouldst, hear me,—I have given the silver of the field Take it of me, That I may bury my dead here.
13 e falou a Efrom, na presença do povo da terra, dizendo: Mas, se concordas, ouve-me, peço-te: darei o preço do campo, toma-o de mim, e sepultarei ali a minha morta.
14 And Ephron responded to Abraham, saying to him,
14 Respondeu-lhe Efrom:
15 My lord, hear me,—Land worth four hundred shekels of silver—betwixt me and thee, what is that? And thy dead., bury thou.
15 Meu senhor, ouve-me: um terreno que vale quatrocentos siclos de prata, que é isso entre mim e ti? Sepulta ali a tua morta.
16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver of which he had spoken in the ears of the sons of Heth,—four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant,
16 Tendo Abraão ouvido isso a Efrom, pesou-lhe a prata, de que este lhe falara diante dos filhos de Hete, quatrocentos siclos de prata, moeda corrente entre os mercadores.
17 So was confirmed the field of Ephron, which is in Machpelah, which is before Mamre,—the field and the cave which is therein, and all the timber which was in the field, which was in all the boundary thereof round about,
17 Assim, o campo de Efrom, que estava em Macpela, fronteiro a Manre, o campo, a caverna e todo o arvoredo que nele havia, e todo o limite ao redor
18 to Abraham as a purchase in the eyes of the sons of Heth,—with all who were entering the gate of his city.
18 se confirmaram por posse a Abraão, na presença dos filhos de Hete, de todos os que entravam pela porta da sua cidade.
19 And after this, did Abraham bury Sarah his wife, within the cave of the field of Machpelah, over against Mamre, the same, is Hebron,—in the land of Canaan.
19 Depois, sepultou Abraão a Sara, sua mulher, na caverna do campo de Macpela, fronteiro a Manre, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã.
20 So was confirmed the field with the cave which was therein to Abraham, for a possession of a buryingplace,—from the sons of Heth.
20 E assim, pelos filhos de Hete, se confirmou a Abraão o direito do campo e da caverna que nele estava, em posse de sepultura.
