1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
1 Ora sucedeu no undécimo ano, ao primeiro do mês, que veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:
2 Son of man, Because Tyre hath said concerning Jerusalem. Aha! She is broken that was the doors of the peoples. She is turned unto me,— I shall be filled, She is laid waste,
2 Filho do homem, visto como Tiro disse no tocante a Jerusalém: Ah! está quebrada a porta dos povos; está aberta para mim; eu me encherei, agora que ela está assolada;
3 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee O Tyre,— So then I will bring up against thee many nations, As the sea bringeth up its rolling waves;
3 portanto assim diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó Tiro, e farei subir contra ti muitas nações, como o mar faz subir as suas ondas.
4 And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre. And break down her towers, And I will scrape clean her dust from off her, —And make of her the glaring face of a cliff:
4 Elas destruirão os muros de Tiro, e derrubarão as suas torres; e eu varrerei o seu solo, e dela farei uma rocha descalvada.
5 A place for the spreading of nets, shall she become, in the midst of the sea, For, I, have spoken Declareth My Lord. Yahweh,-And she shall become a prey to the nations.
5 Ela virá a ser no meio do mar um enxugadouro de redes; pois eu o falei, diz o Senhor Deus; e ela servirá de despojo para as nações.
6 And her daughters that are in the field: with the sword shall be slain: So shall they know that I am Yahweh.
6 Também suas filhas que estão no campo serão mortas à espada; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
7 For thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Behold me! bringing against Tyre. Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon out of the North. a king of kings,—with horses and with chariots and with horsemen, and a gathered host, and much people.
7 Porque assim diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que eu trarei contra Tiro a Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, desde o norte, o rei dos reis, com cavalos, e com carros, e com cavaleiros, sim, companhias e muito povo.
8 Thy daughters in the field—with the sword, shall he slay,- And shall set against thee a siege-wall And cast up against thee an earthwork, And set up against thee a large shield;
8 As tuas filhas ele matará à espada no campo; e construirá fortes contra ti, levantará contra ti uma tranqueira, e alçará paveses contra ti;
9 And the stroke of his attacking-engine, will he direct against thy walls,— And thy towers, will he break down with his axes.
9 dirigirá os golpes dos seus arietes contra os teus muros, e derrubará as tuas torres com os seus machados.
10 By reason of the multitude of his horses, their dust shall cover thee,— At the noise of horseman and wheel and chariot, shall thy walls tremble, when he entereth into thy gates Just as they do who enter a city broken open.
10 Por causa da multidão de seus cavalos te cobrirá o seu pó; os teus muros tremerão com o estrondo dos cavaleiros, e das carroças, e dos carros, quando ele entrar pelas tuas portas, como quem entra numa cidade em que se fez brecha.
11 With the hoofs of his horses, shall he tread down all thy streets,— Thy people-with the sword, shall he slay, And thy pillars of strength to the earth, shall go down.
11 Com as patas dos seus cavalos pisará todas as tuas ruas; ao teu povo matará à espada, e as tuas fortes colunas cairão por terra.
12 And they shall spoil thy wealth And make a prey of thy merchandise, And break down thy walls And thy pleasant houses, shall they lay in ruins; And thy stones and thy timber and thy dust—in the midst of the waters, shall they lay.
12 Também eles roubarão as tuas riquezas e saquearão as tuas mercadorias; derrubarão os teus muros e arrasarão as tuas casas agradáveis; e lançarão no meio das águas as tuas pedras, as tuas madeiras, e o teu solo.
13 And I will cause to cease the hum of thy songs; And the sound of thy lyres, shall not be heard any more.
13 E eu farei cessar o arruído das tuas cantigas, e o som das tuas harpas não se ouvira mais;
14 And I will make of thee the glaring face of a cliff. A place for the spreading of nets, shalt thou become, Thou shalt not be but any more, For I. Yahweh have spoken it, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
14 e farei de ti uma rocha descalvada; viras a ser um enxugadouro das redes, nunca mais serás edificada; pois eu, o Senhor, o falei, diz o Senhor Deus.
15 Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, to Tyre: Shall it not be that. At the sound of thy fall. With the groan of thy pierced one. With the slaughter made in thy midst, The Coastlands shall tremble?
15 Assim diz o Senhor Deus a Tiro: Acaso não tremerão as ilhas com o estrondo da tua queda, quando gemerem os feridos, quando se fizer a matança no meio de ti?
16 Then shall come down from off their thrones all the princes of the sea, And shall lay aside their robes. And their embroidered garments, shall strip off,— With tremblings, shall they clothe them. selves Upon the ground, shall they sit, And shall tremble every moment and be astonished over thee.
16 Então todos os príncipes do mar descerão dos seus tronos, e porão de lado os seus mantos, e despirão as suas vestes bordadas; de tremores se vestirão; sobre a terra se assentarão; e estremecerão a cada momento, e de ti se espantarão.
17 Then shall they take up over thee a dirge, And say to thee,- How hast thou perished, And ceased from the seas,- The city renowned which was strong in the sea She and they who dwelt in her, Who imparted their terror To all who dwelt in her.
17 E farão uma lamentação sobre ti, e te dirão: Como pereceste, ó povoada de navegantes, ó cidade afamada, que foste forte no mar! tu e os teus moradores que atemorizastes a todos os que habitam ao teu redor!
18 Now, shall tremble the Coastlands, In the day of thy fall,- And shall shudder the isles that are in the sea. At thine exit!
18 Agora estremecerão as ilhas no dia da tua queda; sim, as ilhas, que estão no mar, espantar-se-ão da tua saída.
19 For thus saith My Lord Yahweh, When I make thee a desolate city, Like cities which cannot be dwelt in,- When I bring up over thee the roaring deep, And the mighty waters cover thee,
19 Pois assim diz o Senhor Deus: Quando eu te fizer uma cidade assolada, como as cidades que não se habitam, quando fizer subir sobre ti o abismo, e as muitas águas te cobrirem,
20 Then will I bring thee down with them that go down into the pit. Unto the people of age-past times And cause thee to dwell in the earth below Among the desolations from age-past times With them that go down into the pit That thou mayest not be dwelt in, Nor yet present thyself in the land of the living.
20 então te farei descer com os que descem à cova, ao povo antigo, e te farei habitar nas mais baixas partes da terra, em lugares desertos de há muito, juntamente com os que descem à cova, para que não sejas habitada; e estabelecerei a glória na terra dos viventes.
21 A terror, will I make thee And thou shalt not be: Though thou be sought for, Thou shalt not be found any more To times age-abiding, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
21 Farei de ti um grande espanto, e não mais existirás; embora te procurem, contudo, nunca serás achada, diz o Senhor Deus.
