¹ In Yhwh put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

¹ Ao mestre de canto. De Davi. É junto do Senhor que procuro refúgio. Por que dizer-me: Foge, velozmente, para a montanha, como um pássaro;

² For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

² eis que os maus entesam seu arco, ajustam a flecha na corda, para ferir, de noite, os que têm o coração reto.

³ If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

³ Quando os próprios fundamentos se abalam, que pode fazer ainda o justo?

⁴ Yhwh is in his holy temple, Yhwh's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

⁴ Entretanto, o Senhor habita em seu templo, o Senhor tem seu trono no céu. Sua vista está atenta, seus olhares observam os filhos dos homens.

⁵ Yhwh trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

⁵ O Senhor sonda o justo como o ímpio, mas aquele que ama a injustiça, ele o aborrece.

⁶ Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

⁶ Sobre os ímpios ele fará cair uma chuva de fogo e de enxofre; um vento abrasador de procela será o seu quinhão.

⁷ For the righteous Yhwh loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

⁷ Porque o Senhor é justo, ele ama a justiça; e os homens retos contemplarão a sua face.
