¹ Hear, O my God, the voice of my lament: guard my life from the foe who affrights me.

¹ Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha queixa; preserva a minha voz na minha queixa; preserva a minha vida do horror do inimigo.

² Hide me from villains who secretly plot, from the blustering throng of the workers of evil,

² Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus, e do ajuntamento dos que praticam a iniqüidade,

³ who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and aimed bitter words like arrows,

³ os quais afiaram a sua língua como espada, e armaram por suas flechas palavras amargas.

⁴ which from ambush they launch at the blameless, shooting swiftly and unafraid.

⁴ Para em lugares ocultos atirarem sobre o íntegro; disparam sobre ele repentinamente, e não temem.

⁵ They strengthen their wicked purpose, they tell of the snares they have hidden, they say to themselves, “Who can see?”

⁵ Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente, e dizem: Quem nos verá?

⁶ They think out their crimes full cunningly hidden deep in their crafty hearts.

⁶ Planejam iniqüidades; ocultam planos bem traçados; pois o íntimo e o coração do homem são inescrutáveis.

⁷ But God with his arrow will shoot them, swiftly shall they be smitten.

⁷ Mas Deus disparará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos.

⁸ For their tongue he will bring them to ruin, all will shudder with horror at the sight of them.

⁸ Assim serão levados a tropeçar, por causa das suas próprias línguas; todos aqueles que os virem fugirão.

⁹ Then every person, touched to awe, as they ponder what God has wrought, will tell the tale of his deeds.

⁹ E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão a obra de Deus, e considerarão a obra de Deus, e considerarão prudentemente os seus feitos.

¹⁰ In the Lord shall the righteous rejoice, in him shall they take refuge; and all the true-hearted shall glory.

¹⁰ O justo se alegrará no Senhor e confiará nele, e todos os de coração reto cantarão louvores.
