1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
1 Deus é o nosso refúgio e fortaleza, socorro bem-presente na angústia.
2 So we have no fear, though earth should change, and the hills totter into the heart of the ocean.
2 Pelo que não temeremos, ainda que a terra se mude, e ainda que os montes se transportem para o meio dos mares.
3 Let its waters roar and foam, let the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. On our side is the Lord of hosts, our sure defence is the God of Jacob. (Selah)
3 Ainda que as águas rujam e se perturbem, ainda que os montes se abalem pela sua braveza. (Selá)
4 A river there is, whose streams make glad God’s city, the home the Most High has hallowed.
4 Há um rio cujas correntes alegram a cidade de Deus, o santuário das moradas do Altíssimo.
5 God is within her: she cannot be shaken. God helps her at the turn of the morning.
5 Deus está no meio dela; não será abalada; Deus a ajudará ao romper da manhã.
6 Nations roared, kingdoms tottered: he uttered his voice, earth melted away.
6 As nações se embraveceram; os reinos se moveram; ele levantou a sua voz e a terra se derreteu.
7 On our side is the Lord of hosts, our sure defence is the God of Jacob.
7 O Senhor dos Exércitos está conosco; o Deus de Jacó é o nosso refúgio. (Selá)
8 Come and see what the Lord has done, working appallingly in the earth.
8 Vinde, contemplai as obras do Senhor ; que desolações tem feito na terra!
9 He stills wars to the ends of the earth- breaking the bow, snapping the spear, burning the chariots in the fire.
9 Ele faz cessar as guerras até ao fim da terra; quebra o arco e corta a lança; queima os carros no fogo.
10 “Refrain; and know surely that I am God, high over the nations, high over the world.”
10 Aquietai-vos e sabei que eu sou Deus; serei exaltado entre as nações; serei exaltado sobre a terra.
11 On our side is the Lord of Hosts, our sure defence is the God of Jacob. (Selah)
