1 Remember, O Lord, David all his sufferings,
1 Lembra-te, Senhor , a favor de Davi, de todas as suas provações;
2 the oath that he swore to the Lord, and his vow to the Strong One of Jacob,
2 de como jurou ao Senhor e fez votos ao Poderoso de Jacó:
3 never to enter his tent, never to lie on his bed,
3 Não entrarei na tenda em que moro, nem subirei ao leito em que repouso,
4 never to give his eyes sleep or his eyelids slumber,
4 não darei sono aos meus olhos, nem repouso às minhas pálpebras,
5 till he had found a place for the Lord, for the Strong One of Jacob to live in.
5 até que eu encontre lugar para o Senhor , morada para o Poderoso de Jacó.
6 We heard of it in Ephrathah, in the fields of Jaar we found it.
6 Ouvimos dizer que a arca se achava em Efrata e a encontramos no campo de Jaar.
7 We went to the place where he dwelt, we bowed ourselves low at his footstool.
7 Entremos na sua morada, adoremos ante o estrado de seus pés.
8 “Arise, Lord, and enter your resting-place, you and your mighty ark.
8 Levanta-te, Senhor , entra no lugar do teu repouso, tu e a arca de tua fortaleza.
9 Let your priests wear a garment of righteousness, your faithful shout aloud for joy.
9 Vistam-se de justiça os teus sacerdotes, e exultem os teus fiéis.
10 For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your Anointed.”
10 Por amor de Davi, teu servo, não desprezes o rosto do teu ungido.
11 The Lord swore an oath to David an oath that he will not break; “I will set on your throne a prince of your line.
11 O Senhor jurou a Davi com firme juramento e dele não se apartará: Um rebento da tua carne farei subir para o teu trono.
12 If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons, too, forever, will sit on your throne.”
12 Se os teus filhos guardarem a minha aliança e o testemunho que eu lhes ensinar, também os seus filhos se assentarão para sempre no teu trono.
13 For the choice of the Lord is Zion; she is the home of his heart.
13 Pois o Senhor escolheu a Sião, preferiu-a por sua morada:
14 “This is forever my resting-place, this is the home of my heart.
14 Este é para sempre o lugar do meu repouso; aqui habitarei, pois o preferi.
15 I will royally bless her provision, and give bread to her poor in abundance.
15 Abençoarei com abundância o seu mantimento e de pão fartarei os seus pobres.
16 Her priests I will clothe with salvation; her faithful will shout for joy.
16 Vestirei de salvação os seus sacerdotes, e de júbilo exultarão os seus fiéis.
17 There will I raise up for David a dynasty of power. I have set my anointed a lamp that shall never go out.
17 Ali, farei brotar a força de Davi; preparei uma lâmpada para o meu ungido.
18 Robes of shame I will put on his foes, but on his head a glittering crown.”
18 Cobrirei de vexame os seus inimigos; mas sobre ele florescerá a sua coroa.
