1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him to make known to his servants, concerning what must shortly take place, and which he sent and revealed by his angel to his servant John,
1 A Revelação de Jesus Cristo, que Deus lhe deu, para mostrar aos seus servos coisas que em breve devem acontecer; e ele a declarou enviando-a por meio de seu anjo a seu servo João.
2 who testified to the message of God and to the testimony to Jesus Christ, omitting nothing of what he had seen.
2 Que deu testemunho da palavra de Deus, e do testemunho de Jesus Cristo, e de todas as coisas que ele viu.
3 Blessed is the one who reads, and blessed are they who listen to, the words of this prophecy, and lay to heart what is here written; for the time is near.
3 Abençoado é aquele que lê, e aqueles que ouvem as palavras desta profecia, e guardam estas coisas que nela estão escritas, porque o tempo está próximo.
4 From John, to the seven churches which are in Roman Asia. Blessing and peace be yours from him who is, and who was, and who will be, and from the seven spirits that are before his throne,
4 João, às sete igrejas que estão na Ásia: Graça esteja convosco, e a paz, daquele que é, que era e que há de vir; e dos sete Espíritos que estão diante de seu trono;
5 and from Jesus Christ, ‘the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the Ruler of all the kings of the earth.’ To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his own blood —
5 e de Jesus Cristo, que é a fiel testemunha, e o primogênito dos mortos, e o príncipe dos reis da terra. A ele, que nos amou e nos lavou de nossos pecados em seu próprio sangue;
6 and he made us ‘a kingdom of priests in the service of God,’ his Father! — to Him be ascribed glory and dominion for ever. Amen.
6 e nos fez reis e sacerdotes para Deus, seu Pai; a ele seja a glória e o domínio para sempre e sempre. Amém.
7 ‘He is coming among the clouds!’ Every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; ‘and all the nations of the earth will mourn over him.’ So will it be. Amen.
7 Eis que ele vem com as nuvens, e todo olho há de vê-lo, e também aqueles que o perfuraram; e todas as famílias da terra se lamentarão por causa dele. Assim seja. Amém.
8 ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’says the Lord, the God who is, and who was, and who will be, the Almighty.
8 Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o princípio e o fim, diz o Senhor, que é, que era e que há de vir, o Todo-Poderoso.
9 I, John, who am your brother, and who share with you in the suffering and kingship and endurance of Jesus, found myself on the island called Patmos, for the sake of the message of God and the testimony to Jesus.
9 Eu, João, que também sou vosso irmão e companheiro na tribulação e no reino e paciência de Jesus Cristo, estava na ilha que é chamada de Patmos, por causa da palavra de Deus, e do testemunho de Jesus Cristo.
10 I fell into a trance on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like the blast of a trumpet.
10 Eu estava no Espírito, no dia do Senhor, e ouvi por trás de mim uma grande voz, como a de uma trombeta,
11 It said — ‘Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamus, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicaea.’
11 dizendo: Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o primeiro e o último; e o que tu vês, escreve em um livro, e envia-o às sete igrejas que estão na Ásia; a Éfeso, e a Esmirna, e a Pérgamo, e a Tiatira, e a Sardes, e a Filadélfia e a Laodiceia.
12 I turned to see what voice it was that spoke to me; and when I turned, I saw seven golden lamps,
12 E voltei-me para ver a voz que falava comigo. E, voltando-me, eu vi sete candelabros de ouro;
13 and in the midst of the lamps one ‘like a man, in a robe reaching to his feet,’ and with a golden girdle across his breast.
13 e no meio dos sete candelabros, alguém semelhante ao Filho do homem, vestido com uma roupa comprida até aos pés, e cingido com um cinto de ouro no seu peito.
14 ‘The hair of his head was as white as wool, as white as snow; his eyes were like flaming fire;
14 Sua cabeça e seus cabelos eram brancos como a lã, tão brancos como a neve, e os seus olhos eram como uma chama de fogo;
15 and his feet were like brass’ as when molten in a furnace; ‘his voice was like the sound of many streams,’
15 e seus pés como bronze polido, como se queimassem em uma fornalha; e a sua voz como o som de muitas águas.
16 in his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like ‘the sun in the fulness of its power.’
16 E ele tinha em sua mão direita sete estrelas, e da sua boca saía uma espada afiada de dois gumes e a sua face era como o sol quando brilha em sua força.
17 And, when I saw him, I fell at his feet like one dead. He laid his hand on me and said — ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last,
17 E, quando o vi, caí como morto aos seus pés. E ele pôs sua mão direita sobre mim, dizendo: Não temas. Eu sou o primeiro e o último;
18 the Everliving. I died, and I am alive for ever and ever. And I hold the keys of the Grave and of the place of the dead.
18 Eu Sou Ele que vive, e que estava morto; e eis que eu estou vivo para sempre, amém; e tenho as chaves do inferno e da morte.
19 Therefore write of what you have seen and of what is happening now and of what is about to take place —
19 Escreve as coisas que tu tens visto, as que são, e as que hão de acontecer.
20 the mystic meaning of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lamps. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamps are the seven churches.
20 O mistério das sete estrelas que tu viste em minha mão direita, e dos sete candelabros de ouro. As sete estrelas são os anjos das sete igrejas, e os sete candelabros que tu viste são as sete igrejas.
