1 The prophecy concerning the desert of the sea. As storms which rush along through the south, So it cometh from the desert, From the terrible land.
1 Oráculo do deserto marítimo. Como um furacão desencadeado do meio-dia, assim vem isto do deserto, de uma terra horrível.
2 A grievous vision was revealed to me; The plunderer plundereth, and the destroyer destroyeth. "Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! All sighing do I make to cease."
2 Uma visão sinistra me foi revelada: O salteador rouba, o destruidor devasta. Arroja-te, ó Elão, assaltai, ó medos; não tenhais piedade.
3 Therefore are my loins full of pain; Pangs have seized me, as the pangs of a woman in travail; For convulsions I cannot hear; For anguish I cannot see.
3 Por essa causa tenho os rins atenazados, e sou tomado de dores como uma mulher no parto. Atordoa-me o sofrimento, cega-me o terror;
4 My heart panteth, Terror hath seized upon me; The evening of my desire is changed into horror.
4 minha razão desvaira, o terror me invade, e o crepúsculo desejado causa-me espanto.
5 The table is prepared; the watch is set; They eat; they drink; "Arise, ye princes! Anoint the shield!"
5 Põem a mesa, estendem o tapete, comem e bebem... Alerta, capitães! Untai o escudo.
6 For thus said the Lord unto me: "Go, set a watchman, Who shall declare what he seeth."
6 Porque o Senhor me disse: Vai postar uma sentinela! Que ela te anuncie o que vir!
7 And he saw a troop, horsemen in pairs, Riders on asses, and riders on camels, And he watched with the utmost heed.
7 Se vir uma fila de cavaleiros, dois a dois, uma fila de asnos, outra de camelos, que preste atenção, muita atenção.
8 Then he cried like a lion: "My Lord, I stand continually upon the watch-tower in the daytime, And keep my post all the night;
8 E então grite: Eu vejo! Em meu posto de guarda, Senhor, eu me mantenho o dia inteiro; em meu observatório permaneço de pé todas as noites.
9 And behold, there cometh a troop, Horsemen in pairs." Again also he lifted up his voice, and said: "Fallen, fallen is Babylon, And all the graven images of her gods are cast broken to the ground."
9 Eis que vem a cavalaria, cavaleiros dois a dois. Tomam a palavra e dizem-me: Caiu, caiu Babilônia! Todos os simulacros de seus deuses foram despedaçados contra a terra.
10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor! What I have heard from Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, That have I declared to you.
10 Ó povo meu, pisado, malhado como o grão, o que aprendi do Senhor dos exércitos, do Deus de Israel, eu te anuncio.
11 The prophecy concerning Dumah. A voice came to me from Seir: "Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?"
11 Oráculo contra Edom. Gritam-me de Seir: Sentinela, em que pé está a noite? Sentinela, em que pé está a noite?
12 The watchman saith: "Morning cometh, and also night. If ye will inquire, inquire! Return, come!"
12 E a sentinela responde: A manhã chega, igualmente a noite. Se quereis sabê-lo, voltai a interrogar.
13 The prophecy against the Arabians. In the thickets of Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye caravans of Dedan!
13 Oráculo das estepes. Passai a noite nas brenhas da estepe, caravanas de dedanitas;
14 The inhabitants of the land of Tema Bring water to the thirsty; They come to meet the fugitive with bread.
14 ide levar água àqueles que têm sede, habitantes da terra de Pemá, ide oferecer pão aos fugitivos.
15 For they flee from swords, From the drawn sword, And from the bent bow, And from the fury of war.
15 Porque fogem diante das espadas, diante da espada nua, diante do arco retesado, diante do rude combate.
16 For thus saith the Lord to me: Within one year, according to the years of a hireling, Shall all the glory of Kedar be consumed.
16 Porque eis o que me disse o Senhor: Ainda {um} ano, contado como os anos do mercenário, e desaparecerá o império de Cedar.
17 The remainder of the mighty bowmen of the sons of Kedar shall be diminished; For Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath said it.
17 E só ficará um punhado dos valentes arqueiros, filhos de Cedar. O Senhor, Deus de Israel, o disse.
