¹ To the Chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; keep me from the violent man,

¹ Livra-me, ó Senhor , do homem mau; guarda-me do homem violento;

² who devised evil things in the heart; they are always gathered for war.

² os quais pensam o mal no coração; continuamente se ajuntam para a guerra.

³ They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³ Aguçaram a língua como a serpente; o veneno das víboras está debaixo dos seus lábios. (Selá)

⁴ O LORD, keep me from the hands of the wicked; keep me from the violent man who purposed to trip up my steps.

⁴ Guarda-me, ó Senhor , das mãos do ímpio e guarda-me do homem violento, os quais se propuseram desviar os meus passos.

⁵ The proud have hidden cords and a trap for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

⁵ Os soberbos armaram-me laços e cordas; estenderam a rede à beira do caminho; armaram-me laços corrediços. (Selá)

⁶ I said to the LORD, You are my God; O LORD, hear the voice of my prayers.

⁶ Eu disse ao Senhor : tu és o meu Deus; ouve a voz das minhas súplicas, ó Senhor .

⁷ O Lord Jehovah, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷ Senhor Deus, fortaleza da minha salvação, tu cobriste a minha cabeça no dia da batalha.

⁸ O LORD, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not help his wicked plans, lest they praise themselves. Selah.

⁸ Não cumpras, ó Senhor , ao ímpio os seus desejos; não deixes ir por diante o seu mau propósito, para que não se exalte. (Selá)

⁹ As for the head of those around me, let the evil of their own lips cover them.

⁹ Quanto aos que, cercando-me, levantam a cabeça, cubra-os a maldade dos seus lábios.

¹⁰ Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, so that they do not rise up again.

¹⁰ Caiam sobre eles brasas vivas, sejam lançados no fogo em covas profundas, para que se não tornem a levantar.

¹¹ Do not let an evil speaker be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

¹¹ Não terá firmeza na terra o homem de má língua; o mal perseguirá o homem violento, até que seja desterrado.

¹² I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted and the right of the poor.

¹² Sei que o Senhor sustentará a causa do oprimido e o direito do necessitado.

¹³ Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.

¹³ Assim, os justos louvarão o teu nome; os retos habitarão na tua presença.
