Salmos 53

1 To the Chief musician on Mahalath. A Contemplation; A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God! They have done corruptly; they have committed abominable wickedness; there is not one doing good!
1 Diz o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Corromperam-se e cometeram abominável iniqüidade; não há quem faça o bem.
2 God looked down from Heaven on the sons of mankind, to see if there was any discerning, who was seeking God:
2 Deus olha lá dos céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se há algum que tenha entendimento, que busque a Deus.
3 Every one has turned away; together they are filthy; not one is doing good; not even one!
3 Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.
4 Have the workers of evil not known, eating up My people as they eat bread? They have not called on God.
4 Acaso não têm conhecimento os que praticam a iniqüidade, os quais comem o meu povo como se comessem pão, e não invocam a Deus?
5 There they dreaded with dread, where no dread was; for God has scattered the bones of the one who besieges you; you have put them to shame because God rejects them.
5 Eis que eles se acham em grande pavor onde não há motivo de pavor, porque Deus espalhará os ossos daqueles que se acampam contra ti; tu os confundirás, porque Deus os rejeitou.
6 Who gives from Zion the salvation of Israel? When God brings back the captivity of His people, Jacob shall rejoice; Israel shall be glad.
6 Oxalá que de Sião viesse a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.
