1 To the chief musician, for stringed instruments, A Psalm of David. Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. You gave room to me in distress. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
1 Ouve-me quando eu clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça, na angústia me deste largueza; tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.
2 O sons of men, until when shall My glory be for a reproach? Will you love vanity? Will you run after a lie? Selah.
2 Filhos dos homens, até quando convertereis a minha glória em infâmia? Até quando amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira? (Selá.)
3 But know that Jehovah has set apart the godly for Himself. Jehovah hears when I call to Him.
3 Sabei, pois, que o Senhor separou para si aquele que é piedoso; o Senhor ouvirá quando eu clamar a ele.
4 Tremble and do not sin. Speak within your own heart on your bed and be still. Selah.
4 Perturbai-vos e não pequeis; falai com o vosso coração sobre a vossa cama, e calai-vos. (Selá.)
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and trust in Jehovah.
5 Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça, e confiai no Senhor.
6 Many are saying, Who will show us any good? O Jehovah, lift up the light of Your face on us.
6 Muitos dizem: Quem nos mostrará o bem? Senhor, exalta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time their grain and their wine grew.
7 Puseste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se lhes multiplicaram o trigo e o vinho.
8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone, O Jehovah, make me dwell in safety.
8 Em paz também me deitarei e dormirei, porque só tu, Senhor, me fazes habitar em segurança.
