1 Why have the nations raged and the peoples are meditating on vanity?
1 Por que as nações se enfurecem tanto? Por que perdem seu tempo com planos inúteis?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves; yea, the rulers have plotted together against Jehovah and His anointed, saying ,
2 Os reis da terra se preparam para a batalha; os governantes conspiram juntos, contra o S e contra seu ungido.
3 We will break their bands in two, and throw off their cords from us.
3 “Vamos quebrar estas correntes!”, eles dizem. “Vamos nos libertar da escravidão!”
4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Jehovah shall mock at them.
4 Aquele que governa nos céus ri; o Senhor zomba deles.
5 Then He will speak to them in His anger, and He will terrify them in His wrath;
5 Então, em sua ira, ele os repreende e, com sua fúria, os aterroriza.
6 Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion.
6 Ele diz: “Estabeleci meu rei no trono em Sião, em meu santo monte”.
7 I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.
7 O rei proclama o decreto do S enhor : “O S hoje eu o gerei.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
8 Basta pedir e lhe darei as nações como herança, a terra inteira como sua propriedade.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
9 Você as quebrará com cetro de ferro e as despedaçará como vasos de barro’”.
10 Now, then, be wise, O kings; be taught, O judges of the earth:
10 Portanto, reis, sejam prudentes! Aceitem a advertência, governantes da terra!
11 Serve Jehovah with fear; yea, rejoice with trembling.
11 Sirvam ao S enhor com temor, alegrem-se nele com tremor.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!
12 Sujeitem-se ao filho, para que ele não se ire e vocês não sejam destruídos de repente, pois sua ira se acende num instante; felizes, porém, os que nele se refugiam!
