³ then they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger glowed against us.

⁴ Then the waters would have flowed over us; the torrent would have covered our soul;

⁴ as águas nos teriam arrastado e as torrentes nos teriam afogado;

⁵ then the raging waters would have passed over our soul.

⁵ sim, as águas violentas nos teriam afogado!

⁶ Blessed be Jehovah, who did not give us as a prey to their teeth.

⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowlers' snare; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.
