¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. I sought refuge in Jehovah; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your hill.

¹ No Senhor me refugio. Como então vocês dizem à minha alma: “Fuja como um pássaro para o seu monte”?

² For behold! The wicked will tread the bow; they fixed their arrow on the string, in order to shoot with it at the upright of heart in the dark.

² Porque eis aí os ímpios, armando os seus arcos; colocam a flecha na corda, para, às escondidas, dispararem contra os retos de coração.

³ When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

³ Ora, se forem destruídos os fundamentos, que poderá fazer o justo?

⁴ Jehovah is in His holy temple Jehovah, His throne is in the heavens; His eyes see; His eyelids will examine the sons of man.

⁴ O Senhor está no seu santo templo; nos céus o o seu trono; os seus olhos estão atentos, as suas pálpebras sondam os filhos dos homens.

⁵ Jehovah tries the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the lover of violence.

⁵ O Senhor põe à prova o justo e o ímpio; mas ele abomina o que ama a violência.

⁶ He shall rain snares on the wicked; fire and brimstone and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

⁶ Fará chover sobre os perversos brasas de fogo e enxofre, e vento abrasador será a parte do cálice deles.

⁷ For Jehovah is righteous; He loves righteous deeds; the upright look upon His face.

⁷ Por ser justo, o os retos lhe contemplarão a face.
