1 Oh, that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
1 Oh! se a minha cabeça se tornasse em águas, e os meus olhos em uma fonte de lágrimas, para que eu pudesse chorar dia e noite pelos mortos da filha de meu povo!
2 Oh, that I had a lodging place for travelers in the wilderness, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous ones.
2 Oh! que eu tivesse no deserto um acampamento temporário para homens que viajam a pé, para que o meu povo fosse com eles! Pois eles são todos adúlteros, um bando de homens traiçoeiros.
3 And they bend their tongues, their bow is a lie. And they are not mighty for the truth on the earth, for they go from evil to evil. They also do not know Me, says Jehovah.
3 E eles curvam suas línguas, como o arco para mentiras. Porém não são valentes para a verdade sobre a terra, porque prosseguem de mal para mal, e não me conhecem, diz o SENHOR.
4 Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, and do not trust any brother. For every brother will supplant, and every neighbor will walk as a slanderer.
4 Prestai muita atenção cada um a seu próximo, e não confiai em nenhum irmão, pois todo irmão irá usurpar, e todo o próximo andará com difamadores.
5 And everyone will deceive his neighbor, and they will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves to commit iniquity.
5 E eles enganarão cada um a seu próximo e não falarão a verdade. Eles ensinaram suas línguas e proferiram mentiras, e cansaram-se de cometer iniquidade.
6 Your home is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me says Jehovah.
6 Tua habitação está no meio do engano, por meio do engano recusam-se a me conhecer, diz o SENHOR.
7 For this reason, so says Jehovah of Hosts, Behold, I will refine them and test them. For what else can I do because of the daughter of My people?
7 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos. Eis que eu os fundirei e os provarei, pois como eu agirei por causa da filha do meu povo?
8 Their tongue is a murdering arrow; it speaks deceit. One speaks peace with his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he sets his ambush.
8 A sua língua é como uma flecha atirada, que profere engano. Com a sua boca cada um fala pacificamente a seu próximo, mas no coração prepara-lhe emboscada.
9 Shall I not visit them for these things ? says Jehovah. Or shall not My soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
9 Não os visitarei por estas coisas? diz o SENHOR. Não será minha alma vingada de uma nação como esta?
10 I will take up a weeping and a wailing for the mountains and a mourning for the pastures of the wilderness. For they are burned up, without a man passing through. Yea, they do not hear the voice of cattle. From the fowl of the heavens and to the beast, they have fled; they are gone.
10 Pelos montes erguerei um choro e pranto, e pelas habitações do deserto uma lamentação, porque elas estão completamente queimadas, tanto que ninguém pode atravessá-las. Nem podem os homens ouvir a voz do gado. Tanto as aves dos céus quanto os animais, fugiram e se foram.
11 And I will make Jerusalem ruins, a den of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.
11 E eu farei de Jerusalém montões, e um antro de dragões, e farei as cidades de Judá desoladas, sem um habitante.
12 Who is the wise man that can understand this? And he to whom the mouth of Jehovah has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish? It is burned up like the wilderness, so that no one passes through.
12 Quem é o homem sábio que possa entender isto? E quem é aquele a quem a boca do SENHOR falou, para que ele possa declarar isto, por que razão a terra perece e está completamente queimada como um deserto, que ninguém atravessa?
13 And Jehovah says, Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, and have not walked in it;
13 E o SENHOR diz: Porque eles abandonaram a minha lei, a qual eu coloquei perante eles, e não obedeceram a minha voz, nem andaram nela.
14 but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;
14 Mas andaram após a imaginação do seu próprio coração, e após os baalins, conforme seus pais lhes ensinaram.
15 so Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, says this: Behold, I will feed them, this people with wormwood, and make them drink poison waters.
15 Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que eu alimentarei com absinto este povo, e darei água de fel para beber.
16 I will also scatter them among the nations which they have not known, nor their fathers. And I will send the sword after them until I have consumed them.
16 Eu também os dispersarei entre os pagãos, a quem nem eles e nem os seus pais conheceram. E enviarei uma espada após eles, até que eu os consuma.
17 So says Jehovah of Hosts, Consider and call for the wailers, that they may come. And send for the wise women, that they may come.
17 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Considerai e chamai as pranteadeiras, para que possam vir e mandai buscar mulheres habilidosas para que venham,
18 And let them make haste and take up a lament over us, so that our eyes may run down with tears, and waters flow from our eyelids.
18 e que se apressem e ergam um pranto por nós, e que nossos olhos percam o vigor com lágrimas, e nossas pálpebras jorrem águas.
19 For the voice of lament is heard from Zion. How we are ravaged! We are greatly ashamed because we have forsaken the land; because they have thrown down our dwellings.
19 Porque uma voz de pranto se ouve em Sião: Como estamos arruinados! Nós estamos verdadeiramente perplexos, porque abandonamos a terra, porque nossas habitações nos expeliram.
20 Yet hear the word of Jehovah, women. And let your ear receive the word of His mouth, and teach your daughters a lament, and each one her neighbor a dirge.
20 Contudo, ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, ó vós mulheres, e que vosso ouvido receba a palavra da sua boca, e ensinai vossas filhas o pranto, e cada uma à sua vizinha a lamentação.
21 For death has come into our windows, entering into our fortified palaces, to cut off the children from the street, the young men from the plazas.
21 Porque a morte adentra nossas janelas, e entrou nos nossos palácios, para cortar os filhos do lado de fora, e os homens jovens das ruas.
22 Speak, So says Jehovah, Even the bodies of men shall fall as dung on the open field, and as the swath after the reaper, and no one shall gather them .
22 Fala: Assim diz o SENHOR: Até as carcaças dos homens cairão como esterco sobre o campo aberto, e como o punhado atrás do segador, e ninguém irá catá-las.
23 So says Jehovah, Do not let the wise glory in his wisdom, and do not let the mighty glory in his might. Do not let the rich glory in his riches.
23 Assim diz o SENHOR: Não se glorie o homem sábio na sua sabedoria, nem se glorie o homem poderoso no seu poder; tampouco se glorie o homem rico em suas riquezas.
24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am Jehovah, doing kindness, justice and righteousness in the earth; for I delight in these, says Jehovah.
24 Mas permitam àquele que se gloria, gloriar-se nisto, que ele me conheça e saiba, que eu sou o SENHOR, que faço misericórdia, juízo e justiça na terra, pois nestas coisas me deleito, diz o SENHOR.
25 Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will punish all the circumcised with foreskin:
25 Eis que os dias vêm, diz o SENHOR, em que eu punirei todos aqueles que são circuncidados com os incircuncisos.
26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the sons of Ammon, and Moab, and all those trimmed on the edges of their beards , who dwell in the wilderness. For all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel, those uncircumcised of heart.
26 Egito e Judá, e Edom, e os filhos de Amom, e Moabe, e todos que estão nas regiões extremas, que habitam no deserto. Pois todas estas nações são incircuncisas, e toda a casa de Israel é incircuncisa no coração.
