1 The word which was to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who were living in the land of Egypt, those living at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the land of Pathros, saying,
1 A palavra que veio a Jeremias, acerca de todos os judeus, habitantes da terra do Egito, que habitavam em Migdol, e em Tafnes, e em Nofe, e na terra de Patros, dizendo:
2 So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah. And, behold! This day they are a ruin, and no one lives in them,
2 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Vós vistes todo o mal que fiz vir sobre Jerusalém, e sobre todas as cidades de Judá; e eis que elas são hoje uma desolação, e ninguém habita nelas;
3 because of the evil which they have done, by provoking Me to anger, by going to burn incense, by serving other gods that they did not know, they, you nor your fathers.
3 Por causa da maldade que fizeram, para me irarem, indo queimar incenso, e servir a deuses estranhos, que nunca conheceram, nem eles, nem vós, nem vossos pais.
4 However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying, Oh, do not commit this abominable thing which I hate!
4 E eu vos enviei todos os meus servos, os profetas, madrugando e enviando a dizer: Ora, não façais esta coisa abominável que odeio.
5 But they did not listen nor bow their ear, to turn from their evil, not to burn incense to other gods.
5 Mas eles não escutaram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, para se converterem da sua maldade, para não queimarem incenso a outros deuses.
6 For this reason My fury and My anger poured out and burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. And they are wasted and deserted as this day.
6 Derramou-se, pois, a minha indignação e a minha ira, e acendeu-se nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém, e elas tornaram-se em deserto e em desolação, como hoje se vê.
7 And now so says Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, not leaving to yourselves a remnant,
7 Agora, pois, assim diz o Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Por que fazeis vós tão grande mal contra as vossas almas, para vos desarraigardes, ao homem e à mulher, à criança e ao que mama, do meio de Judá, a fim de não deixardes remanescente algum;
8 to provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, there where you have gone to reside, that I might cut you off, and that you might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
8 Irando-me com as obras de vossas mãos, queimando incenso a deuses estranhos na terra do Egito, aonde vós entrastes para lá habitar; para que a vós mesmos vos desarraigueis, e para que sirvais de maldição, e de opróbrio entre todas as nações da terra?
9 Have you forgotten the evilness of your fathers, and the evilness of the kings of Judah, and the evilness of his wives, and your own evilness, and the evilness of your wives, which they have done in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
9 Esquecestes já as maldades de vossos pais, e as maldades dos reis de Judá, e as maldades de suas mulheres, e as vossas maldades, e as maldades de vossas mulheres, que cometeram na terra de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém?
10 They are not crushed to this day, nor have they feared, nor walked in My law, nor in My statutes which I have set before you and before your fathers.
10 Não se humilharam até ao dia de hoje, nem temeram, nem andaram na minha lei, nem nos meus estatutos, que pus diante de vós e diante de vossos pais.
11 So Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, says this: Behold, I will set My face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
11 Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que eu ponho o meu rosto contra vós para mal, e para desarraigar a todo o Judá.
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt, to reside there; and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt. They shall be consumed by the sword, and by the famine. They shall die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword, and by the famine, and they shall be a curse, a horror, and a shame, and a reproach.
12 E tomarei os que restam de Judá, os quais puseram os seus rostos para entrarem na terra do Egito, para lá habitar e todos eles serão consumidos na terra do Egito; cairão à espada, e de fome morrerão; consumir-se-ão, desde o menor até ao maior; à espada e de fome morrerão; e servirão de execração, e de espanto, e de maldição, e de opróbrio.
13 For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague,
13 Porque castigarei os que habitam na terra do Egito, como castiguei Jerusalém, com a espada, com a fome e com a peste.
14 so that none of the remnant of Judah which has gone into the land of Egypt, to reside there, will be an escaped one, or a survivor; or return to the land of Judah to which they are lifting up their soul, to return to live there. For not one shall return, except those who escape.
14 De maneira que da parte remanescente de Judá, que entrou na terra do Egito, para lá habitar, não haverá quem escape e fique para tornar à terra de Judá, à qual eles suspiram voltar para nela morar; porém não tornarão senão uns fugitivos.
15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah saying,
15 Então responderam a Jeremias todos os homens que sabiam que suas mulheres queimavam incenso a deuses estranhos, e todas as mulheres que estavam presentes em grande multidão, como também todo o povo que habitava na terra do Egito, em Patros, dizendo:
16 As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, we will not listen to you.
16 Quanto à palavra que nos anunciaste em nome do Senhor, não obedeceremos a ti;
17 But we will certainly do whatever thing goes out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. And we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
17 Mas certamente cumpriremos toda a palavra que saiu da nossa boca, queimando incenso à rainha dos céus, e oferecendo-lhe libações, como nós e nossos pais, nossos reis e nossos príncipes, temos feito, nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém; e então tínhamos fartura de pão, e andávamos alegres, e não víamos mal algum.
18 But when we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things , and have been devoured by the sword and by the famine.
18 Mas desde que cessamos de queimar incenso à rainha dos céus, e de lhe oferecer libações, tivemos falta de tudo, e fomos consumidos pela espada e pela fome.
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our men?
19 E quando nós queimávamos incenso à rainha dos céus, e lhe oferecíamos libações, acaso lhe fizemos bolos, para a adorar, e oferecemos-lhe libações sem nossos maridos?
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people; to the men, and to the women, and to all the people who were answering:
20 Então disse Jeremias a todo o povo, aos homens e às mulheres, e a todo o povo que lhe havia dado esta resposta, dizendo:
21 The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you, and your fathers, your kings, and your rulers, and the people of the land, did not Jehovah remember them? Yea, it came into His heart.
21 Porventura não se lembrou o Senhor, e não lhe veio ao coração o incenso que queimastes nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém, vós e vossos pais, vossos reis e vossos príncipes, como também o povo da terra?
22 And Jehovah could no longer bear because of the evil of your doings, because of the detestable things you have committed. For this reason your land is a waste, and a horror, and a curse, without inhabitant, as this day.
22 De maneira que o Senhor não podia por mais tempo sofrer a maldade das vossas ações, as abominações que cometestes; por isso se tornou a vossa terra em desolação, e em espanto, e em maldição, sem habitantes, como hoje se vê.
23 Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Jehovah, and have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah, in His law, or in His statutes; and because you did not walk in His testimonies, therefore this evil has happened to you, as at this day.
23 Porque queimastes incenso, e porque pecastes contra o Senhor, e não obedecestes à voz do Senhor, e na sua lei, e nos seus testemunhos não andastes, por isso vos sucedeu este mal, como se vê neste dia.
24 Jeremiah also said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Jehovah, all Judah in the land of Egypt.
24 Disse mais Jeremias a todo o povo e a todas as mulheres: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, vós, todo o Judá, que estais na terra do Egito.
25 So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, saying: You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hands, saying, We will surely fulfill our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her. You certainly do perform your vows and certainly make stand your vows.
25 Assim fala o Senhor dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel, dizendo: Vós e vossas mulheres não somente falastes por vossa boca, senão também o cumpristes por vossas mãos, dizendo: Certamente cumpriremos os nossos votos que fizemos de queimar incenso à rainha dos céus e de lhe oferecer libações; confirmai, pois, os vossos votos, e perfeitamente cumpri-os.
26 So hear the word of Jehovah, all Judah who reside in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by My great name, says Jehovah, that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord Jehovah lives.
26 Portanto ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, todo o Judá, que habitais na terra do Egito: Eis que eu juro pelo meu grande nome, diz o SENHOR, que nunca mais será pronunciado o meu nome pela boca de nenhum homem de Judá em toda a terra do Egito dizendo: Vive o Senhor DEUS!
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah in the land of Egypt shall be destroyed by the sword, and by the famine, until they come to an end.
27 Eis que velarei sobre eles para mal, e não para bem; e serão consumidos todos os homens de Judá, que estão na terra do Egito, pela espada e pela fome, até que de todo se acabem.
28 And he who escapes the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number. And all the remnant of Judah who have gone into the land of Egypt, to reside there, shall know whose word shall stand, theirs or Mine.
28 E os que escaparem da espada voltarão da terra do Egito à terra de Judá, poucos em número; e todo o restante de Judá, que entrou na terra do Egito, para habitar ali, saberá se subsistirá a minha palavra ou a sua.
29 And this shall be a sign to you, says Jehovah, that I will punish you in this place, so that you may know that My words shall surely stand against you for evil:
29 E isto vos servirá de sinal, diz o Senhor, que eu vos castigarei neste lugar, para que saibais que certamente subsistirão as minhas palavras contra vós para mal.
30 So says Jehovah, Behold, I am giving Pharaoh-hophra, king of Egypt, into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his soul, even as I gave Zedekiah, king of Judah, into the hand of Nebu-chadnezzar, the king of Babylon, his enemy that sought his soul.
30 Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu darei Faraó-Hofra, rei do Egito, na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que procuram a sua morte; como entreguei Zedequias, rei de Judá, na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, seu inimigo, e que procurava a sua morte.
