Isaías 25

1 O Jehovah, You are my God. I will exalt You; I will thank Your name; for You have done a wonderful thing: counsels from afar; faithful faithfulness.
1 Ó S enhor , honrarei e louvarei teu nome, pois és meu Deus. Fazes coisas maravilhosas! Tu as planejaste há muito tempo e agora as realizaste.
2 Because You have made a heap from a city, a fortified city into a ruin; a citadel of foreigners not to be a city, not to be built, to forever.
2 Transformas cidades poderosas em montes de ruínas; cidades com muros fortes se tornam escombros. Belos palácios em terras distantes são destruídos e jamais serão reconstruídos.
3 For this the mighty people glorify You, the city of the ruthless nations shall fear You.
3 Por isso, nações fortes declararão tua glória; povos cruéis te temerão.
4 For You are a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from storm, a shadow from heat; because the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall.
4 Mas tu, S enhor , és fortaleza para os pobres, torre de refúgio para os necessitados em sua angústia. És abrigo contra a tempestade e sombra contra o calor. Pois os atos opressores dos cruéis são como tempestade que açoita um muro,
5 You shall lay low the noise of foreigners, like the heat in a dry place, the heat with the shadow of cloud; the shouting of the terrifying ones shall be laid low.
5 como o calor implacável do deserto. Tu, porém, calas o rugido das nações estrangeiras; como a sombra de uma nuvem diminui o calor implacável, assim os cânticos de soberba dos cruéis são silenciados.
6 And Jehovah of Hosts shall make a feast of fat things for all the peoples in this mountain; a feast of wine on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, refined wine on the lees.
6 Em Jerusalém, o S enhor dos Exércitos oferecerá um grande banquete para todos os povos do mundo. Será um banquete delicioso, com vinho puro e envelhecido e carne da melhor qualidade.
7 And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering which covers all people, and the veil that is woven over all nations.
7 Ali removerá a nuvem de tristeza, a sombra escura que cobre toda a terra.
8 He will swallow up death in victory! And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And He shall reprove the reproach of His people from all the earth; for Jehovah has spoken
8 Ele engolirá a morte para sempre; o S Removerá para sempre todo insulto, contra sua terra e seu povo. O S
9 And one shall say in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is Jehovah; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.
9 Naquele dia, o povo dirá: “Este é nosso Deus! Confiamos nele, e ele nos salvou! Este é o S alegremo-nos em seu livramento!”.
10 For the hand of Jehovah shall rest in this mountain; and Moab shall be trampled under Him, even as straw is trampled in the water of a dung pit.
10 Pois a mão do S enhor descansará sobre Jerusalém. Moabe, porém, será esmagada; será como palha pisada e deixada para apodrecer.
11 And He shall spread His hands in his midst, as he who swims strokes to swim. And He shall lay low his pride with the skill of His hands.
11 Deus empurrará para baixo o povo de Moabe, como um nadador empurra a água para baixo com as mãos. Acabará com seu orgulho e com todas as suas obras perversas.
12 And He shall bow down the fortress of the height of your walls; He will lay low, touch to the earth, even to the dust.
12 Os muros altos de Moabe serão demolidos; serão derrubados por terra, até o pó.
