1 Woe to the land of whirring of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;
1 Ai da terra sombreada pelas asas, a qual está além dos rios da Etiópia.
2 which sends envoys by the sea, even in ships of papyrus on the face of the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a dreadful people from it and onwards; and a nation mighty and trampling down, whose land the rivers have divided!
2 Que envia embaixadores pelo mar, até em barcos de junco sobre as águas, dizendo: Ide, vós, rápidos mensageiros, a uma nação dispersa e de pele brilhante, a um povo terrível desde o seu início até aqui. Uma nação espalhada em pequenos grupos e pisoteada, cuja terra os rios têm saqueado!
3 All you inhabitants of the world and dwellers of the earth, as one lifts a banner on the peaks, you will see. And you will hear as the blowing of a ram's horn.
3 Todos vós habitantes do mundo e moradores sobre a terra, vede quando ele levantar uma bandeira sobre os montes. E quando ele soprar uma trombeta, ouvi.
4 For so Jehovah said to me, I will rest, and I will watch My dwelling place; as the glowing heat on light; as the cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
4 Pois, então, o ­SENHOR me disse: Eu estarei quieto, e ponderarei a respeito em minha habitação, como um luzente calor sobre as ervas, e como uma nuvem de orvalho no calor da colheita.
5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, then He will cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and cut down and take away the branches.
5 Porque antes da colheita, quando o broto está perfeito e quando a uva amarga está amadurecendo na flor, ele tanto cortará os brotos com foices, quanto removerá e derrubará os galhos.
6 They shall be left together to the birds of the hills, and to the beasts of the earth. And the birds shall summer on them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter on them.
6 Eles serão deixados juntos, para as aves dos montes e para os animais da terra, e as aves passarão o verão sobre eles e todos os animais da terra passarão o inverno sobre eles.
7 Then shall be brought in that time to Jehovah of Hosts a present from a tall and smooth people, and a terrifying people, from it and onward; a mighty and trampling nation whose land the rivers have divided, to the place of the name of Jehovah of Hosts: Mount Zion.
7 Naquele tempo será trazido o presente para o ­SENHOR dos Exércitos, de um povo disperso e de pele brilhante, e de um povo terrível desde o seu início até aqui. Uma nação espalhada em pequenos grupos e pisada, cuja terra os rios têm saqueado, para o lugar do nome do ­SENHOR dos Exércitos, o monte Sião.
