1 And when Abram was ninety nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Almighty God! Walk before me and be perfect;
1 Quando Abrão atingiu a idade de noventa e nove anos, o Senhor apareceu a ele e disse: — Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; ande na minha presença e seja perfeito.
2 and I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
2 Farei uma aliança entre mim e você e darei a você uma descendência muito numerosa.
3 And Abram fell on his face. And God spoke with him, saying,
3 Abrão se prostrou com o rosto em terra e Deus lhe falou:
4 As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
4 — Quanto a mim, esta é a minha aliança com você: você será pai de muitas nações.
5 And your name no longer shall be Abram; but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
5 O seu nome não será mais Abrão, e sim Abraão, porque eu o constituí pai de muitas nações.
6 And I will make you very fruitful, exceedingly. And I will give you for nations. And kings shall come out of you.
6 Farei com que você seja extraordinariamente fecundo. De você farei surgir nações, e reis procederão de você.
7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you.
7 Estabelecerei uma aliança entre mim e você e a sua descendência no decurso das suas gerações, aliança perpétua, para ser o seu Deus e o Deus da sua descendência.
8 And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojourning, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.
8 Darei a você e à sua descendência a terra onde agora você é estrangeiro, toda a terra de Canaã, como propriedade perpétua, e serei o Deus deles.
9 And God said to Abraham, You shall keep My covenant, you and your seed after you in their generations.
9 Deus disse ainda a Abraão: — Guarde a minha aliança, você e a sua descendência no decurso das suas gerações.
10 This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your seed after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised
10 Esta é a aliança que vocês guardarão entre mim e vocês e a sua descendência: todos do sexo masculino que estão no meio de vocês deverão ser circuncidados.
11 And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin. And it shall be a token of the covenant between Me and you.
11 Vocês devem circuncidar a carne do prepúcio e isso servirá como sinal de aliança entre mim e vocês.
12 And a son of eight days shall be circumcised among you, every male in your generation, he that is born in the house, or bought with silver from any son of a foreigner who is not of your seed.
12 O menino que tem oito dias será circuncidado entre vocês. Todos do sexo masculino nas suas gerações devem ser circuncidados, também o escravo nascido em casa e o comprado de qualquer estrangeiro, que não for da sua linhagem.
13 Surely the child of your house and the purchase of your money must be circumcised. And My covenant shall be in your flesh for a perpetual covenant.
13 Deve ser circuncidado o que nasceu em sua casa e o que você comprou com dinheiro. A minha aliança estará na carne de vocês e será aliança perpétua.
14 And an uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, his soul shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.
14 O incircunciso, que não tiver sido circuncidado na carne do prepúcio, deve ser eliminado do meio do seu povo, pois quebrou a minha aliança.
15 And God said to Abraham, You shall not call your wife Sarai by her name Sarai, for Sarah shall be her name;
15 Deus disse a Abraão: — A Sarai, sua mulher, você não chamará mais de Sarai, porém de Sara.
16 and I have blessed her and have also given to you a son from her. Yea, I have blessed her and she shall become nations; kings of people shall be from her.
16 Eu a abençoarei e darei a você um filho que nascerá dela. Sim, eu a abençoarei, e ela se tornará nações; reis de povos procederão dela.
17 And Abraham fell on his face and laughed. And he said in his heart, Shall one be born to a son of a hundred years? And shall Sarah bear, a daughter of ninety years?
17 Então Abraão se prostrou com o rosto em terra, e riu, dizendo consigo mesmo: “Pode nascer um filho a um homem de cem anos? E será que Sara, com os seus noventa anos, ainda poderá dar à luz?”
18 And Abraham said to God, Oh that Ishmael might live before You!
18 Então Abraão disse para Deus: — Quem dera que Ismael vivesse sob a tua bênção!
19 And God said, Your wife Sarah truly shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. And I have established My covenant with him for a perpetual covenant with his seed after him.
19 Deus lhe respondeu: — Na verdade, Sara, a sua mulher, lhe dará um filho, e você o chamará de Isaque. Estabelecerei com ele a minha aliança, aliança perpétua para a sua descendência.
20 And as to Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
20 Quanto a Ismael, eu ouvi o pedido que você me fez: vou abençoá-lo, farei com que seja fecundo e o multiplicarei extraordinariamente; ele será pai de doze príncipes, e dele farei uma grande nação.
21 And I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.
21 Mas a minha aliança eu estabelecerei com Isaque, o filho que Sara dará à luz para você, neste mesmo tempo, daqui a um ano.
22 And He finished talking with him. And God went up from Abraham.
22 Quando acabou de falar com Abraão, Deus se retirou dele, elevando-se.
23 And Abraham took his son Ishmael, and all the ones born of his house, and all that were bought with his silver, every male among the men of the house of Abraham. And he circumcised the flesh of their foreskins in that same day, even as God spoke to him.
23 Naquele mesmo dia, Abraão tomou o seu filho Ismael, e todos os escravos nascidos em sua casa, e todos os que ele tinha comprado com o seu dinheiro, todos os do sexo masculino que havia em sua casa, e circuncidou a carne do prepúcio de cada um, como Deus lhe havia ordenado.
24 And Abraham was a son of ninety nine years when being circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
24 Abraão tinha noventa e nove anos de idade quando foi circuncidado na carne do seu prepúcio.
25 And his son Ishmael was a son of thirteen years when being circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 Ismael, seu filho, tinha treze anos quando foi circuncidado na carne do seu prepúcio.
26 In the same day that Abraham was circumcised, Ishmael his son also was .
26 Abraão e seu filho, Ismael, foram circuncidados no mesmo dia.
27 And all the men of his house, born in the house or bought with silver from a son of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
27 E também foram circuncidados todos os homens de sua casa, tanto os escravos nascidos nela como os comprados de estrangeiros.
