1 And when the seventh month had come, and the sons of Israel were in the cities, the people assembled as one man to Jerusalem.
1 Chegando, pois, o sétimo mês, e estando os filhos de Israel já nas cidades, ajuntou-se o povo, como um só homem, em Jerusalém.
2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel in order to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
2 E levantou-se Jesuá, filho de Jozadaque, e seus irmãos, os sacerdotes, e Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e seus irmãos, e edificaram o altar do Deus de Israel, para oferecerem sobre ele holocaustos, como está escrito na lei de Moisés, o homem de Deus.
3 And they set the altar on its bases, for fear was on them because of the people of those countries. And he offered burnt offerings on it to Jehovah, burnt offerings morning and evening.
3 E firmaram o altar sobre as suas bases, porque o terror estava sobre eles, por causa dos povos das terras; e ofereceram sobre ele holocaustos ao Senhor, holocaustos pela manhã e à tarde.
4 They also performed the Feast of Booths, as it is written, and the burnt offerings by number, days by days, according to the ordinance, the thing of days in its day.
4 E celebraram a festa dos tabernáculos, como está escrito; ofereceram holocaustos cada dia, por ordem, conforme ao rito, cada coisa em seu dia.
5 And afterward the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were set apart, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to Jehovah.
5 E depois disto o holocausto contínuo, e os das luas novas e de todas as solenidades consagradas ao Senhor; como também de qualquer que oferecia oferta voluntária ao Senhor;
6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to Jehovah. But the foundation of the temple of Jehovah was not laid.
6 Desde o primeiro dia do sétimo mês começaram a oferecer holocaustos ao SENHOR; porém ainda não estavam postos os fundamentos do templo do SENHOR.
7 They also gave silver to the cutters and to the craftsmen; and food and drink and oil to the Sidonians and to the Tyrians, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant which they had from Cyrus king of Persia.
7 Deram, pois, o dinheiro aos pedreiros e carpinteiros, como também comida e bebida, e azeite aos sidônios, e aos tírios, para trazerem do Líbano madeira de cedro ao mar, para Jope, segundo a concessão que lhes tinha feito Ciro, rei da Pérsia.
8 Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests, and the Levites, and all they who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began. And they made to stand the Levites from a son of twenty years and over, to oversee the work of the house of Jehovah.
8 E no segundo ano da sua vinda à casa de Deus em Jerusalém, no segundo mês, Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e Jesuá, filho de Jozadaque, e os outros seus irmãos, os sacerdotes e os levitas, e todos os que vieram do cativeiro a Jerusalém, começaram a obra da casa do Senhor, e constituíram os levitas da idade de vinte anos para cima, para que a dirigissem.
9 Then Jeshua stood up together with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, to oversee the workmen in the house of God, the sons of Henadad with their sons, and their brothers the Levites.
9 Então se levantou Jesuá, seus filhos, e seus irmãos, Cadmiel e seus filhos, os filhos de Judá, como um só homem, para dirigirem os que faziam a obra na casa de Deus, bem como os filhos de Henadade, seus filhos e seus irmãos, os levitas.
10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Jehovah, they made stand the priests in their robes with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals to praise Jehovah, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel.
10 Quando, pois, os edificadores lançaram os alicerces do templo do Senhor, então apresentaram-se os sacerdotes, já vestidos e com trombetas, e os levitas, filhos de Asafe, com címbalos, para louvarem ao Senhor conforme à instituição de Davi, rei de Israel.
11 And they sang, praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, because He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised Jehovah because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.
11 E cantavam juntos por grupo, louvando e rendendo graças ao Senhor, dizendo: porque é bom; porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre sobre Israel. E todo o povo jubilou com altas vozes, quando louvaram ao Senhor, pela fundação da casa do Senhor.
12 But many of the priests and Levites, and heads of the fathers, the aged men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. And many shouted aloud for joy,
12 Porém muitos dos sacerdotes, e levitas e chefes dos pais, já idosos, que viram a primeira casa, choraram em altas vozes quando à sua vista foram lançados os fundamentos desta casa; mas muitos levantaram as vozes com júbilo e com alegria.
13 So that the people could not tell the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of weeping of the people. For the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.
13 De maneira que não discernia o povo as vozes do júbilo de alegria das vozes do choro do povo; porque o povo jubilava com tão altas vozes, que o som se ouvia de muito longe.
