¹ Hear my voice, O God, in my lamenting. Preserve my life from the fear of the enemy.

¹ Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi. Ouve a minha voz, ó Deus, na minha oração; preserva a minha vida do medo do inimigo.

² Hide me from the secret plots of evildoers, from the unrest of those who do iniquity,

² Esconde-me do conselho secreto dos perversos; da insurreição dos trabalhadores da iniquidade;

³ who sharpen their tongue like a sword. They bend their bow to shoot their arrows—bitter words,

³ que afiam a sua língua como uma espada, e curvam os seus arcos para atirar suas flechas, até palavras amargas.

⁴ to shoot from their hiding places at the blameless. Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

⁴ Que eles possam atirar em secreto no perfeito; repentinamente atiram nele, e não temem.

⁵ They encourage themselves in the evil matter. They talk of secretly laying snares. They say, “Who will see them?”

⁵ Eles se encorajam em uma questão maligna; tratam de armar laços secretamente; eles dizem: Quem os verá?

⁶ ⌞They carefully plot⌟ injustices saying, “We have perfected ⌞the perfect plot⌟!” Both the ⌞inner thought⌟ and heart of a man are deep.

⁶ Eles vasculham iniquidades; realizam uma busca diligente; e ambos, o íntimo pensamento de cada um deles, e o coração, são profundos.

⁷ But God will shoot them; with an arrow they will suddenly be wounded.

⁷ Mas Deus atirará neles com uma flecha; repentinamente eles serão feridos.

⁸ And they who would cause him to stumble, their own tongue will be against them. All who gaze on them will shake.

⁸ Assim, eles farão sua própria língua cair sobre si mesmos; todos os que os virem fugirão.

⁹ And then all men will fear, and will declare the working of God, and will understand his doing.

⁹ E todos os homens temerão, e declararão a obra de Deus; pois eles considerarão sabiamente o seu feito.

¹⁰ The righteous will rejoice in Yahweh and take refuge in him, and all the upright in heart will boast.

¹⁰ O justo ficará feliz no SENHOR, e confiará nele, e todos os retos de coração glorificarão.
