¹ O God, you are my God; I will seek you diligently. My soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you as in a dry and weary land without water.

¹ Ó Deus, tu és o meu Deus forte; eu te busco ansiosamente; a minha alma tem sede de ti; meu corpo te almeja, como terra árida, exausta, sem água.

² Thus I have seen you in the sanctuary, beholding your strength and glory.

² Assim, eu te contemplo no santuário, para ver a tua força e a tua glória.

³ Because your loyal love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

³ Porque a tua graça é melhor do que a vida; os meus lábios te louvam.

⁴ So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my ⌞hands⌟ in your name.

⁴ Assim, cumpre-me bendizer-te enquanto eu viver; em teu nome, levanto as mãos.

⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise.

⁵ Como de banha e de gordura farta-se a minha alma; e, com júbilo nos lábios, a minha boca te louva,

⁶ When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on you in the night watches.

⁶ no meu leito, quando de ti me recordo e em ti medito, durante a vigília da noite.

⁷ Because you have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

⁷ Porque tu me tens sido auxílio; à sombra das tuas asas, eu canto jubiloso.

⁸ My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

⁸ A minha alma apega-se a ti; a tua destra me ampara.

⁹ But as for them who seek my life for ruin, they will go into the depths of the earth.

⁹ Porém os que me procuram a vida para a destruir abismar-se-ão nas profundezas da terra.

¹⁰ They who would ⌞deliver him to the sword⌟ will become a portion for jackals.

¹⁰ Serão entregues ao poder da espada e virão a ser pasto dos chacais.

¹¹ However, the king will rejoice in God. Everyone who swears an oath by him will boast, because the mouth of the liars will be stopped.

¹¹ O rei, porém, se alegra em Deus; quem por ele jura gloriar-se-á, pois se tapará a boca dos que proferem mentira.
