1 “At that time,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, “they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of its officials, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Judah from their graves.
1 — Naquele tempo, serão tirados das sepulturas os ossos dos reis e das autoridades de Judá, e também os ossos dos sacerdotes, dos profetas e dos moradores de Jerusalém. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
2 And they shall spread them out before the sun, and before the moon, and before all the host of heaven, which they have loved, and which they have served, and which they have gone after, and which they have inquired about, and to which they have bowed in worship. They shall not be gathered, and they shall not be buried; they will be like dung on the surface of the ground.
2 Os ossos serão espalhados debaixo da luz do sol, da lua e das estrelas, os quais aquelas pessoas amaram e serviram, os quais consultaram e adoraram. Não serão recolhidos, nem sepultados, mas ficarão na terra, como esterco.
3 And death will be preferred to life by all the remaining of this evil clan in all the remaining places where I have driven them away,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
3 E todos os que sobrarem dessa raça de gente ruim e que estiverem morando nos lugares por onde eu os espalhar vão querer morrer em vez de continuar vivendo. Eu, o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, estou falando.
4 “And you shall say to them, ‘Thus asks Yahweh: “Do men fall and not stand up? If one turns away does he not return?
4 O Senhor Deus me mandou dizer ao seu povo: — Quando alguém cai, será que não se levanta? Quando alguém erra o caminho, não torna a voltar?
5 Why has this people, Jerusalem, turned away in enduring apostasy? They have kept hold of deceit, they have refused to return.
5 Meu povo, por que é que vocês viram as costas para mim? Por que estão sempre se afastando de mim? Vocês se agarram aos seus erros e não querem voltar para mim.
6 I have listened attentively, and I have listened. They do not speak honestly, there is no man who regrets his wickedness, saying, ‘What have I done?’ All of them are turning to their ways of running, like a horse plunging into battle.
6 Eu escutei com atenção, mas vocês não falaram a verdade. Ninguém ficou triste por causa da sua maldade; ninguém perguntou: “O que foi que eu fiz de errado?” Cada um continua seguindo o seu próprio caminho, como um cavalo que corre depressa para a batalha.
7 Even the stork in heaven knows its appointed time, and the turtledove, and the swallow, and the song bird, they observe the time of their coming. But my people do not know the ordinance of Yahweh.
7 Até as rolas, garças e andorinhas sabem quando é tempo de voar para outras terras; as cegonhas sabem quando é tempo de voltar. Mas você, meu povo, não segue as leis que eu lhe dei.
8 How can you say, ‘We are wise and the law of Yahweh is with us’? Look, surely ⌞the lying stylus of the scribes⌟ has made it a lie.
8 — Como é que vocês têm a coragem de dizer: “Nós somos sábios, nós temos a Lei do Senhor ”? Mas vejam! Os mestres da Lei desonestos têm falsificado a Lei quando a copiam.
9 The wise will be put to shame, they will be dismayed, and they will get taken. Look, they have rejected the word of Yahweh, and what is wisdom to them?
9 Os sábios serão envergonhados; ficarão confusos e atrapalhados. Eles rejeitaram as minhas palavras. Que sabedoria é essa que eles têm?
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others, their fields to conquerors, because from the smallest to the greatest, all of them make profit for unlawful gain, from prophet to priest, all of them practice deceit.
10 Por isso, darei as mulheres deles para outros homens e as suas terras, para novos donos. Porque todos, importantes ou humildes, procuram ganhar dinheiro desonestamente. Até os profetas e os sacerdotes — todos são desonestos.
11 And they have treated the wound of the daughter of my people lightly, ⌞saying⌟, ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.
11 Eles tratam dos ferimentos do meu povo como se fossem coisa sem importância. E dizem: “Vai tudo bem”, quando na verdade tudo vai mal.
12 Were they ashamed, for they had committed a detestable thing? What’s worse, they were not ashamed at all, and they did not know to feel humiliated. ⌞Therefore⌟ they will fall among those who fall; at the time of their punishment they will stumble,” says Yahweh.
12 Será que ficaram envergonhados por terem feito essas coisas que eu detesto? Não! Não ficaram envergonhados de jeito nenhum; eles nem sabem o que é sentir vergonha. Por isso, vão cair como outros têm caído; quando eu os castigar, eles vão ficar arrasados. Sou eu, o Senhor , quem está falando.
13 “⌞I will take away their harvest⌟,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh. “There are no grapes on the vine, and there are no figs on the fig tree, and the leaves wither, and what I gave to them passed over them.” ’ ”
13 — Eu, o Senhor , gostaria de reunir o meu povo como o lavrador ajunta as suas colheitas. Mas eles são como parreiras sem uvas e como figueiras sem figos; até as suas folhas secaram. Por isso, eu deixei que os estrangeiros tomassem o país.
14 Why are we sitting? Gather, and let us go into the fortified cities, and let us perish there, for Yahweh our God has caused us to perish, and has provided drink for us, water of poison, because we have sinned against Yahweh.
14 — Por que estamos aqui parados? — pergunta o povo de Deus. — Venham, vamos correr para as cidades cercadas de muralhas e morrer ali. O Senhor , nosso Deus, nos condenou à morte. O Senhor nos deu água envenenada para beber porque pecamos contra ele.
15 We hope for peace, but there is no good, for a time of healing, but there is terror.
15 Esperamos a paz, porém não veio nada de bom; esperamos um tempo de descanso, mas o que veio foi o terror.
16 “From Dan is heard the snorting of their horses, from the sound of the neighing of their stallions all the land quakes, for they come and devour the land, and that which fills the city, and those who live in it.
16 Os nossos inimigos já entraram na cidade de Dã; estamos ouvindo os seus cavalos bufando. Quando os cavalos deles rincham, a terra toda treme. Os inimigos vieram para destruir a nossa terra, e tudo o que ela tem, e também a nossa cidade e os seus moradores.
17 For look, I am letting loose among you snakes, adders for which there is no incantation, and they will bite you,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
17 — Atenção! — diz o Senhor . — Estou mandando cobras venenosas para o meio de vocês, serpentes que não podem ser dominadas e que vão mordê-los.
18 “My comfort is gone from me, sorrow is on me, my heart is sick.
18 A minha tristeza não pode ser curada; o meu coração está doente.
19 Look, the sound of the cry for help of the daughter of my people from a distant land, ‘Is Yahweh not in Zion? Is her king not in her?’ Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with idols of a foreign land?”
19 Escutem! Estou ouvindo o meu povo gritar no país inteiro. Eles gritam: “Será que o O Rei de Sião não está mais lá?” E o “Por que é que vocês me irritam com os seus ídolos e com os seus deuses estrangeiros, que não valem nada?”
20 The harvest has passed, the summer has come to an end, and we have not received help.
20 Então o povo grita: “Acabou o verão, passou o tempo da colheita, mas nós não fomos salvos.”
21 “Because of the wound of the daughter of my people I am broken down, I mourn, horror has seized me.
21 O meu coração está ferido porque o meu povo está ferido. Choro, completamente desanimado.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no healer there? Why, then, has the healing of the daughter of my people not been restored?
22 Será que não há mais remédio em Gileade ? Não há médico lá? Então por que o meu povo não foi curado?
