1 And it was in that same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah, the son of Azzur, the prophet who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of Yahweh before the eyes of the priests and all the people, ⌞saying⌟,
1 No quinto mês desse mesmo ano, que era o quarto ano do reinado de Zedequias, o profeta Hananias, filho de Azur, falou comigo no pátio do Templo. Hananias era da cidade de Gibeão. Ele me disse, na presença dos sacerdotes e do povo,
2 “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, ⌞saying⌟, ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
2 que o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de Israel, tinha dito o seguinte: — Eu acabei com o poder do rei da Babilônia.
3 ⌞Within two years⌟ I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon took away from this place and brought to Babylon.
3 Dentro de dois anos, eu trarei de volta para este lugar todos os tesouros que o rei Nabucodonosor tirou do Templo e levou para a Babilônia.
4 And Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, I will bring back to this place,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘For I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’ ”
4 Também vou trazer de volta o rei de Judá, Joaquim, filho de Jeoaquim, junto com todos os prisioneiros que foram de Judá para a Babilônia. Sim, eu acabarei com o poder do rei da Babilônia. Eu, o Senhor , estou falando.
5 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet before the eyes of the priests and before the eyes of all the people who were standing in the house of Yahweh,
5 Então, na presença dos sacerdotes e de todo o povo que estava no pátio do Templo, eu disse ao profeta Hananias o seguinte:
6 and Jeremiah the prophet said, “Amen! May Yahweh do so; may Yahweh fulfill your words that you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of Yahweh and all the exiles from Babylon to this place.
6 — Como seria bom que isso acontecesse! Espero que o Senhor Deus faça isso. Espero que ele faça tudo como você disse e traga de volta da Babilônia todos os tesouros do Templo e também todos os prisioneiros.
7 Nevertheless listen please to this word that I am speaking in your ⌞hearing⌟ and in the ⌞hearing⌟ of all the people,
7 Mas escute o que vou dizer a você e ao povo.
8 The prophets who were ⌞before⌟ me and ⌞before⌟ you from ancient times prophesied against many countries and against great kingdoms of war, and of disaster, and of plague.
8 Os profetas que falaram há muito tempo, antes do meu tempo e do seu, disseram que viria guerra, fome e doença para muitas nações e poderosos reinos.
9 The prophet who prophesies peace, at the coming of the word of the prophet, will become known as the prophet that Yahweh has ⌞truly⌟ sent.”
9 Mas o profeta que profetiza a paz só pode ser aceito como profeta mandado por Deus quando as palavras dele se cumprem.
10 Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
10 Aí Hananias tirou a canga que estava no meu pescoço, quebrou-a em pedaços
11 Then Hananiah said before the eyes of all the people, ⌞saying⌟, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘This is how I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, ⌞within two years⌟, from the neck of all the nations.’ ” And Jeremiah the prophet went on his way.
11 e, na presença de todo o povo, disse o seguinte: — O Então fui embora. — O
12 And the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah after Hananiah the prophet broke the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, ⌞saying⌟,
12 — ausente —
13 “Go, and you must say to Hananiah, ⌞saying⌟, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “You have broken yoke bars of wood, but you have made in place of them yoke bars of iron.”
13 — ausente —
14 For thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, to serve Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and they will serve him, and I have even given the animals of the open field to him.” ’ ”
14 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de Israel, vai pôr uma canga de ferro sobre todas essas nações, e elas serão dominadas pelo rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia. Ele vai fazer com que até os animais selvagens trabalhem para Nabucodonosor.
15 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet, “Please listen, Hananiah, Yahweh has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie.
15 E eu continuei: — Escute bem, Hananias! O
16 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh, ‘Look, I am going to send you from the face of the earth. This year you will die because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.’ ”
16 Por isso, o Senhor diz que vai se livrar de você. Você vai morrer ainda este ano, pois disse ao povo que se revoltasse contra o Senhor .
17 And Hananiah the prophet died in that same year in the seventh month.
17 E o profeta Hananias morreu no sétimo mês daquele mesmo ano.
