Jeremias 16

1 And the word of Yahweh came to me, ⌞saying⌟,
1 A palavra do SENHOR veio também a mim, dizendo:
2 “You shall not take for yourself a wife, there shall not be for you sons and daughters in this place.”
2 Tu não tomarás para ti uma esposa, nem terás filhos nem filhas neste lugar.
3 For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters born in this place, and concerning their mothers who gave birth to them, and concerning their fathers who fathered them in this land:
3 Pois assim diz o SENHOR a respeito dos filhos e a respeito das filhas que nascem neste lugar, e a respeito das suas mães que os dão à luz, e a respeito dos pais que os geraram nesta terra:
4 “They will die by diseases, they will not be mourned, and they will not be buried. They will be as dung on the face of the earth. And they will perish by the sword and they will perish by the famine. And their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air, and for the wild animals of the earth.”
4 Morrerão de mortes dolorosas. Eles não serão lamentados, nem serão eles enterrados. Porém eles serão como esterco sobre a face da terra, e serão consumidos pela espada, e pela fome, e as suas carcaças serão comida para as aves do céu e para os animais da terra.
5 For thus says Yahweh, “You must not enter the house of the funeral meal, and you must not go to lament, and you must not show sympathy for them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, “the loyal love and the compassion.
5 Pois assim diz o SENHOR: Não entres na casa do luto, não vás a lamentar nem os lastimar, pois eu removi minha paz deste povo, diz o SENHOR, benignidade e misericórdia.
6 Both the great and small will die in this land. They will not be buried, and they will not mourn for them, and no one will cut himself with a blade, and no one will shave himself for them.
6 Tanto o grande quanto o pequeno morrerão nesta terra, eles não serão enterrados, nem homens lamentarão por eles, nem se cortarão, e nem se tornarão carecas por eles.
7 And they will not break bread for the mourning ceremony for them, to comfort him because of the dead. And they will not give drink to them, the cup of desolation, for their fathers, or for their mothers.
7 Nem homens rasgar-se-ão por eles em pranto, para os confortar pelo morto, nem lhes darão a taça de consolação para beber pelo pai, ou pela sua mãe.
8 And you shall not enter the house of the banquet, to sit with them, to eat and drink.”
8 Tu também não irás adentrar a casa de banquete, para sentar-se com eles para comer, e para beber.
9 For thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, “Look, I am about to cause to disappear from this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of jubilation, and the voice of joy, and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
9 Pois assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que eu farei cessar deste lugar, diante de vossos olhos, e em vossos dias, a voz de regozijo, e a voz de júbilo, a voz do noivo, e a voz da noiva.
10 ⌞And then⌟ when you tell this people all these words and they ask you, ‘⌞Why⌟ has Yahweh pronounced against us all this great evil, and what is our iniquity, and what is our sin that we have sinned against Yahweh our God?’
10 E isto acontecerá, quando tu mostrares a este povo todas estas palavras. E eles dirão: Por que razão o Senhor pronunciou todo este grande mal contra nós? Ou qual é a nossa iniquidade? Ou qual é nosso pecado o qual cometemos contra o SENHOR nosso Deus?
11 Then you shall say to them, ‘⌞Because⌟ your ancestors have forsaken me,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘and they have gone after other gods, and they have served them, and they have bowed down in worship to them, and they have forsaken me, and they have not kept my laws.
11 Então tu lhes dirás: Porque vossos pais me abandonaram, diz o SENHOR, e andaram após outros deuses, e os serviram, e os adoraram, e me abandonaram, e não cumpriram a minha lei.
12 And ⌞you have behaved badly⌟ more than your ancestors, and look, you are going each one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, without listening to me.
12 E vós fizestes pior que vossos pais, pois, eis que, vós andais cada um após a imaginação de seu coração perverso, para que não me escuteis.
13 So I will throw you from this land to the land that you have not known, you or your ancestors, and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will not show you favor.
13 Portanto, eu vos retirarei desta terra para uma terra que vós não conheceis, nem vós, nem vossos pais, e lá vós servireis a outros deuses, dia e noite, onde não mais vos mostrarei favor.
14 ⌞Therefore⌟ look, days are coming,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘and it will no longer be said, “⌞As Yahweh lives⌟, who led up the ⌞Israelites⌟ from the land of Egypt,”
14 Portanto, eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, em que isto não será mais dito: Vive o SENHOR, que retirou os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito.
15 ⌞but only⌟ “⌞As Yahweh lives⌟, who led up the ⌞Israelites⌟ from the land of the north, and from all the lands where he had driven them,” for I will bring them back to their ground that I gave to their ancestors.
15 Porém: Vive o SENHOR, que retirou os filhos de Israel da terra do norte, e das terras para onde ele os tinha levado. E eu os trarei novamente para a sua terra que dei para os seus pais.
16 Look, I am sending for many fishermen,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘and they will fish them out, and ⌞afterward⌟ I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and from the clefts of the cliffs.
16 Eis que eu enviarei muitos pescadores, diz o SENHOR, e eles os pescarão, e depois mandarei vir muitos caçadores, e eles os caçarão sobre todo monte, e sobre toda colina, e dentro dos buracos das rochas.
17 For my eyes are on all their ways, they are not hidden ⌞from before me⌟, and their iniquity is not concealed from before my eyes.
17 Porque meus olhos estão sobre todos os seus caminhos. Eles não estão escondidos da minha face, nem está a sua iniquidade escondida dos meus olhos.
18 And ⌞I will first doubly repay⌟ their iniquity and their sin because of their profaning my land with the dead bodies of their abhorrences, and with their abominations they have filled up my inheritance.’ ”
18 E primeiramente recompensarei em dobro a sua iniquidade e o seu pecado, porque eles profanaram minha terra, eles encheram minha herança com as carcaças das suas coisas detestáveis e abomináveis.
19 O Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth, and they will say, “Our ancestors have inherited only lies, vanity, and there is no profit in them.
19 Ó SENHOR, minha força, e minha fortaleza, e meu refúgio no dia de aflição, os gentios virão a ti desde os confins da terra e dirão: Certamente nossos pais herdaram mentiras, vaidade, e coisas em que não há proveito.
20 Can a human make for himself gods? Yet they are not gods!”
20 Fará um homem deuses para ele mesmo, que não são deuses?
21 “⌞Therefore⌟ look, I am about to let them know, this time I am going to let them know my ⌞power⌟ and my might, and they will know that my name is Yahweh.”
21 Portanto, eis que desta vez eu os farei saber, eu os farei conhecer a minha mão e o meu poder. E eles saberão que meu nome é O SENHOR.
