1 Hear this word, you cows of Bashan who live on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the powerless, who crush the poor, who say to their husbands, “Bring something so that we may drink!”
1 Ouvi esta palavra, vós, vacas de Basã, que estais no monte de Samaria, que oprimis aos pobres, que esmagais os necessitados, que dizeis a vossos senhores: trazei, e bebamos.
2 My Lord Yahweh has sworn by his holiness that, “Behold, the days are coming upon you ⌞when they⌟ will take you away with hooks, even the last of you with fishing hooks.
2 O Senhor DEUS jurou, pela sua santidade, que dias estão para vir sobre vós, em que vos levarão com ganchos e a vossos descendentes com anzóis.
3 And you shall leave through breaches in the wall, each one in front of her. You will be dragged off toward Harmon,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
3 E saireis pelas brechas, cada qual em frente de si, e sereis lançadas no palácio, diz o ­SENHOR.
4 “Come to Bethel and transgress; to Gilgal and ⌞multiply transgression⌟! Bring your sacrifices in the morning and your tithes on the ⌞third day⌟.
4 Vinde a Betel, e transgredi; a Gilgal, e multiplicai as transgressões; e trazei os vossos sacrifícios a cada manhã, e os vossos dízimos a cada três anos;
5 And bring a thank offering of unleavened bread, and proclaim freewill offerings, pronounce them, for so you love to do, O ⌞people⌟ of Israel,” is the declaration of my Lord Yahweh.
5 e oferecei um sacrifício de ação de graças do que é levedado; proclamai e publicai as ofertas voluntárias, porque disso gostais, ó filhos de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS.
6 “And I in turn gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities and lack of bread in all your places. Yet you did not return to me,” is the declaration of Yahweh.
6 Por isso também vos dei limpeza de dentes em todas as vossas cidades, e falta de pão em todos os vossos lugares; contudo não vos retornastes a mim, diz o ­SENHOR.
7 “And I also withheld the rain from you when there were still three months to the harvest. And I would send rain on one city and send no rain on another city. One tract of land will be rained on, and the tract of land ⌞on which it does not rain⌟ will dry up.
7 E também retive de vós a chuva, quando ainda faltavam três meses para a ceifa; e fiz que chovesse sobre uma cidade, e que não chovesse sobre outra cidade; sobre um campo choveu, mas o outro, sobre a qual não choveu, secou-se.
8 So two or three cities wandered to one city to drink water and they were not satisfied, yet you did not return to me,” is the declaration of Yahweh.
8 Então duas ou três cidades andaram errantes, indo a outra cidade para beberem água, mas não se saciaram; contudo não vos retornastes a mim, diz o ­SENHOR.
9 “I struck you with blight and with mildew. Frequently the cutting locust devoured your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees, yet you did not return to me,” is the declaration of Yahweh.
9 Feri-vos com queimadura e ferrugem; quando vossas hortas e vinhas, e vossas figueiras cresceram, foram devoradas pela lagarta; contudo não vos retornastes a mim, diz o ­SENHOR.
10 “I sent among you a plague in the manner of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with the captivity of your horses. And I made the stench of your camps go up into your nostrils, yet you did not return to me,” is the declaration of Yahweh.
10 Eu enviei a peste entre vós, à maneira do Egito; os vossos jovens matei à espada, e levei os vossos cavalos; e fiz subir às vossas narinas o mau cheiro dos vossos campos; contudo não vos retornastes a mim, diz o ­SENHOR.
11 “I overthrew some of you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a stick snatched from the fire, and yet you did not return to me,” is the declaration of Yahweh.
11 Derrubei alguns dentre vós, como Deus derrubou a Sodoma e Gomorra, e vós fostes como um tição arrebatado do incêndio; contudo não vos retornastes a mim, diz o ­SENHOR.
12 “Therefore, thus I will do to you, O Israel. Because I will do this to you, O Israel, prepare to meet your God!
12 Portanto, assim te farei, ó Israel; e porque isso te farei, prepara-te para encontrares com o teu Deus, ó Israel.
13 Yes, here is the one who forms the mountains, and the one who creates the wind, and the one who reveals to humans what his thoughts are, and the one who treads on the heights of the earth; Yahweh, the God of hosts, is his name!”
13 Pois eis aqui o que forma os montes, e cria o vento, e declara ao homem qual seja o seu pensamento, o que faz da manhã trevas, e pisa sobre os lugares altos da terra; o ­SENHOR, o Deus dos Exércitos, é o seu nome.
