1 BEING justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Justificados, pois, mediante a fé, temos paz com Deus por meio do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
2 by whom also we have had an introduction through faith into this grace in which we have stood fast, and are rejoicing in hope of the glory of God.
2 pelo qual obtivemos também acesso, pela fé, a esta graça na qual estamos firmes; e nos gloriamos na esperança da glória de Deus.
3 And not only so, but we glory also in tribulations: knowing that tribulation produceth patience;
3 E não somente isto, mas também nos gloriamos nas tribulações, sabendo que a tribulação produz perseverança,
4 and patience, proof; and proof, hope;
4 a perseverança produz experiência e a experiência produz esperança.
5 and hope doth not make us ashamed; because the love of God is poured out into our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us.
5 Ora, a esperança não nos deixa decepcionados, porque o amor de Deus é derramado em nosso coração pelo Espírito Santo, que nos foi dado.
6 For even then when we were without strength, Christ died in due time for the ungodly.
6 Porque Cristo, quando nós ainda éramos fracos, morreu a seu tempo pelos ímpios.
7 For scarcely for a righteous person will any one die: though for a good man perhaps some one might even dare to die.
7 Dificilmente alguém morreria por um justo, embora por uma pessoa boa alguém talvez tenha coragem para morrer.
8 But God commendeth his own love towards us, that, though we were yet sinners, Christ died in our stead.
8 Mas Deus prova o seu próprio amor para conosco pelo fato de Cristo ter morrido por nós quando ainda éramos pecadores.
9 Therefore much more, being justified already by his blood, shall we be saved by him from wrath.
9 Logo, muito mais agora, sendo justificados pelo seu sangue, seremos por ele salvos da ira.
10 For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
10 Porque, se nós, quando inimigos, fomos reconciliados com Deus mediante a morte do seu Filho, muito mais, estando já reconciliados, seremos salvos pela sua vida!
11 And not so only, but we exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom already we have received reconciliation.
11 E não apenas isto, mas também nos gloriamos em Deus por meio do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, mediante o qual recebemos, agora, a reconciliação.
12 Therefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death; even so death passed into all men through him, in whom all have sinned.
12 Portanto, assim como por um só homem entrou o pecado no mundo, e pelo pecado veio a morte, assim também a morte passou a toda a humanidade, porque todos pecaram.
13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed if there be no law.
13 Porque antes de a lei ser dada havia pecado no mundo, mas o pecado não é levado em conta quando não há lei.
14 But death reigned from Adam unto Moses, even over those who have not sinned after the similitude of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of him that was to come.
14 No entanto, a morte reinou desde Adão até Moisés, mesmo sobre aqueles que não pecaram à semelhança da transgressão de Adão, o qual prefigurava aquele que havia de vir.
15 But not as the transgression, so also is the gift. For if by the transgression of one the many became dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is in that one man, Christ Jesus, hath abounded unto many.
15 Mas o dom gratuito não é como a ofensa. Porque, se muitos morreram pela ofensa de um só, muito mais a graça de Deus e o dom pela graça de um só homem, Jesus Cristo, foram abundantes sobre muitos!
16 And the gift is not as for one who sinned: for the judgment indeed came by one to condemnation, but the free gift leads to justification from many offences.
16 O dom, entretanto, não é como no caso em que somente um pecou. Porque o julgamento derivou de uma só ofensa, para a condenação; mas a graça deriva de muitas ofensas, para a justificação.
17 For if by the offence of one, death reigned by that one; much more they who receive the abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by one, Christ Jesus.
17 Se a morte reinou pela ofensa de um e por meio de um só, muito mais os que recebem a abundância da graça e o dom da justiça reinarão em vida por meio de um só, a saber, Jesus Cristo.
18 Well then, as by the offence of one, judgment issued against all men unto condemnation; so also by the righteousness of one, the gift came to all men for justification unto life.
18 Portanto, assim como, por uma só ofensa, veio o juízo sobre todos os seres humanos para condenação, assim também, por um só ato de justiça, veio a graça sobre todos para a justificação que dá vida.
19 For as by the disobedience of one man the many were constituted sinners; so also by the obedience of one shall the many be constituted righteous.
19 Porque, como, pela desobediência de um só homem, muitos se tornaram pecadores, assim também, por meio da obediência de um só, muitos se tornarão justos.
20 But the law was introduced, that the offence might be more abundant. But where sin had abounded, there hath grace abounded more exceedingly:
20 A lei veio para que aumentasse a ofensa. Mas onde aumentou o pecado, aumentou muito mais ainda a graça,
21 that as sin had reigned by death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto life eternal by Jesus Christ our Lord.
21 a fim de que, como o pecado reinou pela morte, assim também a graça reinasse pela justiça que conduz à vida eterna, por meio de Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.
