1 Similarly, the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan, opposite Jericho and its waters, to the east, to the wilderness that ascends from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel.
1 Saiu depois a sorte dos filhos de José, a qual, partindo do Jordão, na altura de Jericó, junto às águas de Jericó ao oriente, se estende pelo deserto que sobe de Jericó através da região montanhosa até Betel;
2 And it goes out from Bethel to Luz. And it crosses the border of Archi to Ataroth.
2 de Betel vai para Luz, e passa ao termo dos arquitas, até Atarote;
3 And it descends to the west, beside the border of Japhleti, as far as the borders of lower Beth-horon, and to Gezer. And the last parts of its regions are by the great sea.
3 desce para o ocidente até o termo dos jafletitas, até o termo de Bete-Horom de baixo, e daí até Gezer, indo terminar no mar.
4 And Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons of Joseph, possessed it.
4 Assim receberam a sua herança os filhos de José, Manassés e Efraim.
5 And the border of the sons of Ephraim was made by their families. And their possession toward the east was from Ataroth-addar, as far as upper Beth-horon,
5 Ora, fica o termo dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias, como se segue: para o oriente o termo da sua herança é Atarote-Adar até Bete-Horom de cima;
6 and the confines extend to the sea. Yet truly, Michmethath looks toward the north, and it circles around the borders, toward the east, into Taanath-shiloh. And it continues on, from the east, to Janoah.
6 sai este termo para o ocidente junto a Micmetá ao norte e vira para o oriente até Taanate-Siló, margeando-a a leste de Janoa;
7 And it descends from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah. and it continues to Jericho, and it extends to the Jordan.
7 desce de Janoa a Atarote e a Naarate, toca em Jericó e termina no Jordão:
8 From Tappuah, it passes on, opposite the sea, into the Valley of Reeds. And its exit is at the very salty sea. This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families.
8 De Tapua estende-se para o ocidente até o ribeiro de Caná, e vai terminar no mar. Esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias,
9 And there were cities, with their villages, which were set aside for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Manasseh.
9 juntamente com as cidades que se separaram para os filhos de Efraim no meio da herança dos filhos de Manassés, todas as cidades e suas aldeias.
10 And the sons of Ephraim did not put to death the Canaanite that was living at Gezer. And the Canaanite lived in the midst of Ephraim, even to this day, paying tribute.
10 E não expulsaram aos cananeus que habitavam em Gezer; mas os cananeus ficaram habitando no meio dos efraimitas até o dia de hoje, e tornaram-se servos, sujeitos ao trabalho forçado.
