1 And it happened that, in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth of the month, when I was in the midst of the captives beside the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw the visions of God.
1 E aconteceu no trigésimo ano, no quarto mês, no quinto dia do mês, que estando eu no meio dos cativos, junto ao rio Quebar, se abriram os céus, e eu tive visões de Deus.
2 On the fifth of the month, the same is the fifth year of the transmigration of king Joachin,
2 No quinto dia do mês, no quinto ano do cativeiro do rei Jeoiaquim,
3 the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel, a priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, next to the river Chebar. And the hand of the Lord was over him there.
3 Veio expressamente a palavra do Senhor a Ezequiel, filho de Buzi, o sacerdote, na terra dos caldeus, junto ao rio Quebar, e ali esteve sobre ele a mão do Senhor.
4 And I saw, and behold, a whirlwind arrived from the north. And a great cloud, wrapped in fire and brightness, was all around it. And from its midst, that is, from the midst of the fire, there was something with the appearance of amber.
4 Olhei, e eis que um vento tempestuoso vinha do norte, uma grande nuvem, com um fogo revolvendo-se nela, e um resplendor ao redor, e no meio dela havia uma coisa, como de cor de âmbar, que saía do meio do fogo.
5 And in its midst, there was the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: the likeness of a man was in them.
5 E do meio dela saía a semelhança de quatro seres viventes. E esta era a sua aparência: tinham a semelhança de homem.
6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.
6 E cada um tinha quatro rostos, como também cada um deles quatro asas.
7 Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of the foot of a calf, and they sparkled with the appearance of glowing brass.
7 E os seus pés eram pés direitos; e as plantas dos seus pés como a planta do pé de uma bezerra, e luziam como a cor de cobre polido.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on the four sides. And they had faces with the wings on the four sides.
8 E tinham mãos de homem debaixo das suas asas, aos quatro lados; e assim todos quatro tinham seus rostos e suas asas.
9 And their wings were joined to one another. They did not turn as they went. Instead, each one advanced before his face.
9 Uniam-se as suas asas uma à outra; não se viravam quando andavam, e cada qual andava continuamente em frente.
10 But as for the likeness of their face, there was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right of each of the four, then the face of an ox on the left of each of the four, and the face of an eagle above each of the four.
10 E a semelhança dos seus rostos era como o rosto de homem; e do lado direito todos os quatro tinham rosto de leão, e do lado esquerdo todos os quatro tinham rosto de boi; e também tinham rosto de águia todos os quatro.
11 Their faces and their wings were extended above: two wings of each one were joined together, and two covered their bodies.
11 Assim eram os seus rostos. As suas asas estavam estendidas por cima; cada qual tinha duas asas juntas uma a outra, e duas cobriam os corpos deles.
12 And each one of them advanced before his face. Wherever the impetus of the spirit was to go, there they went. And they did not turn as they advanced.
12 E cada qual andava para adiante de si; para onde o espírito havia de ir, iam; não se viravam quando andavam.
13 And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision dashing in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, with lightning going forth from the fire.
13 E, quanto à semelhança dos seres viventes, o seu aspecto era como ardentes brasas de fogo, com uma aparência de lâmpadas; o fogo subia e descia por entre os seres viventes, e o fogo resplandecia, e do fogo saíam relâmpagos;
14 And the living creatures went and returned like flashes of lightning.
14 E os seres viventes corriam, e voltavam, à semelhança de um clarão de relâmpago.
15 And as I beheld the living creatures, there appeared above the earth, next to the living creatures, one wheel having four faces.
15 E vi os seres viventes; e eis que havia uma roda sobre a terra junto aos seres viventes, uma para cada um dos quatro rostos.
16 And the appearance of the wheels and their work was like the appearance of the sea. And each of the four were similar to one another. And their appearance and work was like a wheel in the center of a wheel.
16 O aspecto das rodas, e a obra delas, era como a cor de berilo; e as quatro tinham uma mesma semelhança; e o seu aspecto, e a sua obra, era como se estivera uma roda no meio de outra roda.
17 Going forth, they went by means of their four parts. And they did not turn as they went.
17 Andando elas, andavam pelos seus quatro lados; não se viravam quando andavam.
18 Also, the size and height and appearance of the wheels was dreadful. And the entire body was full of eyes all around each of the four.
18 E os seus aros eram tão altos, que faziam medo; e estas quatro tinham as suas cambotas cheias de olhos ao redor.
19 And when the living creatures advanced, the wheels advanced together with them. And when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up at the same time.
19 E, andando os seres viventes, andavam as rodas ao lado deles; e, elevando-se os seres viventes da terra, elevavam-se também as rodas.
20 Wherever the spirit went, as the spirit was going forth to that place, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.
20 Para onde o espírito queria ir, eles iam; para onde o espírito tinha de ir; e as rodas se elevavam defronte deles, porque o espírito do ser vivente estava nas rodas.
21 When going forth, they went forth, and when standing still, they stood still. And when they were lifted up from the earth, the wheels, too, were lifted up together, so as to follow them. For the spirit of life was in the wheels.
21 Andando eles, andavam elas e, parando eles, paravam elas e, elevando-se eles da terra, elevavam-se também as rodas defronte deles; porque o espírito do ser vivente estava nas rodas.
22 And above the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of a firmament: similar to crystal, but dreadful to behold, and extending over their heads from above.
22 E sobre as cabeças dos seres viventes havia uma semelhança de firmamento, com a aparência de cristal terrível, estendido por cima, sobre as suas cabeças.
23 And their wings were straight under the firmament, one toward the other. One of them was covered by two wings on his body, and the other was covered similarly.
23 E debaixo do firmamento estavam as suas asas direitas uma em direção à outra; cada um tinha duas, que lhe cobriam o corpo de um lado; e cada um tinha outras duas asas, que os cobriam do outro lado.
24 And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the sublime God. When they walked, it was like the sound of a multitude, like the sound of an army. And when they stood still, their wings were let down.
24 E, andando eles, ouvi o ruído das suas asas, como o ruído de muitas águas, como a voz do Onipotente, um tumulto como o estrépito de um exército; parando eles, abaixavam as suas asas.
25 For when a voice came from above the firmament, which was over their heads, they stood still, and they put down their wings.
25 E ouviu-se uma voz vinda do firmamento, que estava por cima das suas cabeças; parando eles, abaixavam as suas asas.
26 And above the firmament, which was suspended over their heads, there was the likeness of a throne, with the appearance of the sapphire stone. And over the likeness of the throne, there was a likeness with the appearance of a man above it.
26 E por cima do firmamento, que estava por cima das suas cabeças, havia algo semelhante a um trono que parecia de pedra de safira; e sobre esta espécie de trono havia uma figura semelhante a de um homem, na parte de cima, sobre ele.
27 And I saw something with the appearance of amber, with the likeness of fire within it and all around it. And from his waist and upward, and from his waist downward, I saw something with the appearance of fire shining all around.
27 E vi-a como a cor de âmbar, como a aparência do fogo pelo interior dele ao redor, desde o aspecto dos seus lombos, e daí para cima; e, desde o aspecto dos seus lombos e daí para baixo, vi como a semelhança de fogo, e um resplendor ao redor dele.
28 There was the appearance of the rainbow, as when it is in a cloud on a rainy day. This was the appearance of the splendor on every side.
28 Como o aspecto do arco que aparece na nuvem no dia da chuva, assim era o aspecto do resplendor em redor. Este era o aspecto da semelhança da glória do Senhor; e, vendo isto, caí sobre o meu rosto, e ouvi a voz de quem falava.
