1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
1 Deus é honrado em Judá, grande é seu nome em Israel.
2 In Judah God is known, his name is great in Israel.
2 Jerusalém é onde ele habita, o monte Sião é seu lar.
3 His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
3 Quebrou ali as flechas flamejantes do inimigo, os escudos, as espadas e as armas de guerra. Interlúdio
4 There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. [Selah]
4 Tu és glorioso e mais majestoso que os montes eternos.
5 Glorious art thou, more majestic than the everlasting mountains.
5 Os inimigos mais valentes foram saqueados e jazem no sono da morte; nenhum guerreiro foi capaz de levantar as mãos.
6 The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands.
6 Quando os repreendeste, ó Deus de Jacó, cavalos e cavaleiros ficaram imóveis.
7 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.
7 Não é de admirar que sejas tão temido! Quem pode permanecer diante de ti quando irrompe a tua ira?
8 But thou, terrible art thou! Who can stand before thee when once thy anger is roused?
8 Dos céus pronunciaste tua sentença; a terra estremeceu e se calou.
9 From the heavens thou didst utter judgment; the earth feared and was still,
9 Tu te levantaste para julgar, ó Deus, para salvar os oprimidos da terra. Interlúdio
10 when God arose to establish judgment to save all the oppressed of the earth. [Selah]
10 A rebeldia humana resultará em tua glória, pois tu a usas como arma.
11 Surely the wrath of men shall praise thee; the residue of wrath thou wilt gird upon thee.
11 Façam votos ao S enhor , seu Deus, e cumpram-nos; todos paguem tributos àquele que deve ser temido.
12 Make your vows to the LORD your God, and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, [ (Psalms 76:13) who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is terrible to the kings of the earth. ]
12 Pois ele acaba com o orgulho dos príncipes, e os reis da terra o temem.
