1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
1 Ó Deus, tu és o meu Deus, eu te busco intensamente; a minha alma tem sede de ti! Todo o meu ser anseia por ti, numa terra seca, exausta e sem água.
2 O God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; my flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is.
2 Quero contemplar-te no santuário e avistar o teu poder e a tua glória.
3 So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary, beholding thy power and glory.
3 O teu amor é melhor do que a vida! Por isso os meus lábios te exaltarão.
4 Because thy steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise thee.
4 Eu te bendirei enquanto viver, e em teu nome levantarei as minhas mãos.
5 So I will bless thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on thy name.
5 A minha alma ficará satisfeita como de rico banquete; com lábios jubilosos a minha boca te louvará.
6 My soul is feasted as with marrow and fat, and my mouth praises thee with joyful lips,
6 Quando me deito lembro-me de ti; penso em ti durante as vigílias da noite.
7 when I think of thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the watches of the night;
7 Porque és a minha ajuda, canto de alegria à sombra das tuas asas.
8 for thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings I sing for joy.
8 A minha alma apega-se a ti; a tua mão direita me sustém.
9 My soul clings to thee; thy right hand upholds me.
9 Aqueles, porém, que querem matar-me serão destruídos; descerão às profundezas da terra.
10 But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 Serão entregues à espada e devorados por chacais.
11 they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals. [ (Psalms 63:12) But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall glory; for the mouths of liars will be stopped. ]
11 Mas o rei se alegrará em Deus; todos os que juram pelo nome de Deus o louvarão, mas as bocas dos mentirosos serão tapadas.
