¹ Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

¹ Louvai ao Senhor ! Ó minha alma, louva ao Senhor !

² I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have being.

² Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto viver.

³ Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

³ Não confieis em príncipes nem em filhos de homens, em quem não há salvação.

⁴ When his breath departs he returns to his earth; on that very day his plans perish.

⁴ Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles tornam para sua terra; naquele mesmo dia, perecem os seus pensamentos.

⁵ Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

⁵ Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio e cuja esperança está posta no Senhor , seu Deus,

⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith for ever;

⁶ que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto há neles e que guarda a verdade para sempre;

⁷ who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free;

⁷ que faz justiça aos oprimidos; que dá pão aos famintos. O

⁸ the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous.

⁸ o Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor levanta os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos;

⁹ The LORD watches over the sojourners, he upholds the widow and the fatherless; but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

⁹ o Senhor guarda os estrangeiros; ampara o órfão e a viúva, mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

¹⁰ The LORD will reign for ever, thy God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

¹⁰ O Senhor reinará eternamente; o teu Deus, ó Sião, é de geração em geração. Louvai ao Senhor !
