1 To the choirmaster: according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 Salva-nos, Senhor! Já não há quem seja fiel; já não se confia em ninguém entre os homens.
2 Help, LORD; for there is no longer any that is godly; for the faithful have vanished from among the sons of men.
2 Cada um mente ao seu próximo; seus lábios bajuladores falam com segundas intenções.
3 Every one utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
3 Que o Senhor corte todos os lábios bajuladores e toda língua arrogante
4 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts,
4 dos que dizem: "Venceremos graças à nossa língua; somos donos dos nossos lábios! Quem é senhor sobre nós? "
5 those who say, "With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are with us; who is our master?"
5 "Por causa da opressão do necessitado e do gemido do pobre, agora me levantarei", diz o Senhor. "Eu lhes darei a segurança que tanto anseiam. "
6 "Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now arise," says the LORD; "I will place him in the safety for which he longs."
6 As palavras do Senhor são puras, são como prata purificada num forno, sete vezes refinada.
7 The promises of the LORD are promises that are pure, silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.
7 Senhor, tu nos guardarás seguros, e dessa gente nos protegerás para sempre.
8 Do thou, O LORD, protect us, guard us ever from this generation. [ (Psalms 12:9) On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among the sons of men. ]
8 Os ímpios andam altivos por toda parte, quando a corrupção é exaltada entre os homens.
