Romanos 13

1 Let, every soul, unto protecting authorities be in subjection; for there is no authority save by God, and, they that are in being, have by God been arranged,
1 Cada qual seja submisso às autoridades constituídas, porque não há autoridade que não venha de Deus; as que existem foram instituídas por Deus.
2 So that, he who rangeth himself against the authority, against the arrangement of God opposeth himself, and, they who oppose, shall unto themselves a sentence of judgment receive.
2 Assim, aquele que resiste à autoridade, opõe-se à ordem estabelecida por Deus; e os que a ela se opõem, atraem sobre si a condenação.
3 For, they who bear rule, are not a terror unto the good work but unto the evil. Wouldst thou not be afraid of the authority? That which is good, be thou doing, and thou shall have praise of the same;
3 Em verdade, as autoridades inspiram temor, não porém a quem pratica o bem, e sim a quem faz o mal! Queres não ter o que temer a autoridade? Faze o bem e terás o seu louvor.
4 For, Gods minister, is he unto thee for that which is good. But, if, that which is evil, thou be doing, be afraid! For, not in vain, the sword he beareth; for, Gods minister, he is,an avenger, unto anger, to him who practiseth what is evil.
4 Porque ela é instrumento de Deus para teu bem. Mas, se fizeres o mal, teme, porque não é sem razão que leva a espada: é ministro de Deus, para fazer justiça e para exercer a ira contra aquele que pratica o mal.
5 Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection,not only because of the anger, but also because of the conscience;
5 Portanto, é necessário submeter-se, não somente por temor do castigo, mas também por dever de consciência.
6 For, because of this, are ye paying tribute also,for, Gods ministers of state, they are, unto this very thing, giving constant attendance.
6 É também por essa razão que pagais os impostos, pois os magistrados são ministros de Deus, quando exercem pontualmente esse ofício.
7 Render unto all their dues,unto whom tribute, tribute, unto whom tax, tax, unto whom fear, fear, unto whom honour, honour.
7 Pagai a cada um o que lhe compete: o imposto, a quem deveis o imposto; o tributo, a quem deveis o tributo; o temor e o respeito, a quem deveis o temor e o respeito.
8 Nothing to any, be owingsave to be loving one another; for, he that loveth his neighbour, hath given to, law, its fulfillment.
8 A ninguém fiqueis devendo coisa alguma, a não ser o amor recíproco; porque aquele que ama o seu próximo cumpriu toda a lei.
9 For, thisThou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not commit murder, Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not covet, and if there is any different commandment, in this word, is summed up, namely Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
9 Pois os preceitos: Não cometerás adultério, não matarás, não furtarás, não cobiçarás, e ainda outros mandamentos que existam, eles se resumem nestas palavras: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo.
10 Love, unto ones neighbour, worketh not ill; Laws fullness, therefore, is, love.
10 A caridade não pratica o mal contra o próximo. Portanto, a caridade é o pleno cumprimento da lei.
11 And, this besides,knowing the seasonthat it is an hour already for you out of sleep to be wakened; for, now, is our salvation nearer than when we believed:
11 Isso é tanto mais importante porque sabeis em que tempo vivemos. Já é hora de despertardes do sono. A salvação está mais perto do que quando abraçamos a fé.
12 The night, is far spent and, the day, hath drawn near; let us, then, cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light,
12 A noite vai adiantada, e o dia vem chegando. Despojemo-nos das obras das trevas e vistamo-nos das armas da luz.
13 As in daytime, becomingly let us walk: not in revellings and in drunken bouts, not in chamberings and in wanton deeds, not in strife and envy;
13 Comportemo-nos honestamente, como em pleno dia: nada de orgias, nada de bebedeira; nada de desonestidades nem dissoluções; nada de contendas, nada de ciúmes.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and, for the flesh, take not forethought to fulfil its covetings.
14 Ao contrário, revesti-vos do Senhor Jesus Cristo e não façais caso da carne nem lhe satisfaçais aos apetites.
