1 Then came the sons of Israel the whole assembly, into the desert of Zin in the first month, and the people dwelt in Kadesh,and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
1 Então, vieram os filhos de Israel, e toda a congregação, ao deserto de Zim, no primeiro mês; e o povo permaneceu em Cades, e ali Miriã morreu, e ali foi sepultada.
2 And there was no water for the assembly,so they gathered together against Moses and against Aaron.
2 E não havia água para a congregação; e eles se uniram contra Moisés e contra Arão.
3 And the people contended with Moses,and spake saying, Would then we had died a when our brethren died, before Yahweh!
3 E o povo contendeu com Moisés, e falou, dizendo: Quisera Deus que tivéssemos morrido, quando nossos irmãos morreram, perante o SENHOR!
4 Wherefore then hast thou brought the convocation of Yahweh into this desert,to die there, we, and our cattle?
4 E por que trouxestes a congregação do SENHOR a este deserto, para que morramos aqui, nós e os nossos animais?
5 And wherefore did ye cause us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us into this wretched place?not a place of seeds, and figs, and vines and pomegranates, even water, is there none to drink.
5 E por que nos fizestes subir do Egito para nos trazer a este lugar mau? Não é lugar de semente, nem de figos, nem de vinhas, nem de romãs, nem há água para beber.
6 And Moses and Aaron went in from the presence of the multitude unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, and fell upon their faces,and the glory of Yahweh appeared unto them.
6 E Moisés e Arão saíram de diante da congregação, à porta do tabernáculo da congregação, e caíram sobre seus rostos, e a glória do SENHOR lhes apareceu.
7 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
7 E o SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
8 Take the staff and gather together the assembly, thou, and Aaron thy brother, then shall ye speak unto the cliff before their eyes and it shall give forth it waters,so shalt thou bring forth unto them water, out of the cliff, and shalt cause the assembly, and their cattle to drink.
8 Toma a vara e reúne a congregação, tu e Arão, teu irmão; e falai à rocha diante dos seus olhos, e ela dará a sua água; e tirarás água da rocha e darás a beber à congregação e aos seus animais.
9 And Moses took the staff from before Yahweh,as he commanded him.
9 E Moisés tomou a vara de diante do SENHOR, como lhe havia ordenado.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered together the convocation before the cliff,and he said unto them: Hear I pray you ye rebels! Out of this cliff, must we bring forth for you water?
10 E Moisés e Arão reuniram a congregação diante da rocha, e Moisés lhes disse: Ouvi agora, rebeldes; teremos que tirar água desta rocha para vós?
11 And Moses lifted high his hand and smote the cliff with his staff, twice,and there came forth water in abundance, and the assembly and their cattle, did drink.
11 E Moisés levantou a sua mão, e com a sua vara feriu a rocha duas vezes; e saíram águas abundantemente, e a congregação bebeu, e também os seus animais.
12 Then said Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron, Because ye believed not in me, to hallow me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore, shall ye not bring in this convocation into the land which I have given unto them.
12 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés e a Arão: Porque não crestes em mim, para me santificar aos olhos dos filhos de Israel, por isso não levareis esta congregação à terra que lhes dei.
13 The same, were the waters of Meribah that is "Contention" in that the sons of Israel contended with Yahweh,and so he hallowed himself among them.
13 Estas são as águas de Meribá, porque os filhos de Israel contenderam com o SENHOR; e neles foi santificado.
14 And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh, unto the king of Edom,Thus, saith thy brother Israel, Thou thyself, knowest all the distress which befell us;
14 E Moisés enviou mensageiros de Cades ao rei de Edom, dizendo: Assim diz o teu irmão Israel: Sabes de todo o trabalho que tivemos;
15 and how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we abode in Egypt, many days, rod that the Egyptians ill-treated us, and our fathers;
15 como nossos pais desceram ao Egito, e no Egito habitamos por muitos dias; e como os egípcios nos maltrataram, a nós e a nossos pais.
16 and we made outcry unto Yahweh, and he heard our voice, and sent a messenger, and brought us forth out of Egypt,lo! then, we, are in Kadesh, a city at the extremity of thy boundary,
16 E clamamos ao SENHOR, e ele ouviu a nossa voz, e enviou um anjo, e nos tirou do Egito; e eis que estamos em Cades, uma cidade no limite dos teus termos.
17 Let us, we pray thee, pass through thy landwe will not pass through field or vineyard, nor will we drink the waters of a well,by the kings road, will we gowe will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left, until we get through thy boundary.
17 Eu te peço, deixa-nos passar pela tua terra; não passaremos pelo campo, nem pelas vinhas, nem beberemos a água dos poços; seguiremos pela estrada real; não nos desviaremos para a direita nem para a esquerda, até que tenhamos passado teus termos.
18 And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass through my land,lest with the sword, I come out to meet thee.
18 E Edom lhe disse: Não passarás por mim, para que eu não saia contra ti com a espada.
19 And the sons of Israel said unto himBy the highway, will we go up, and if thy waters, we should drinkI, and my cattle then would I give the price thereof,onlyit is nothing!with my feet, would I pass through.
19 E os filhos de Israel lhe disseram: Subiremos pela estrada, e se eu ou o meu gado bebermos das tuas águas, então eu pagarei por isso; deixa-me apenas prosseguir a pé, sem fazer qualquer outra coisa.
20 And he said, Thou shalt not pass through. And Edom came out to meet him, with a strong people, and with a firm hand.
20 E ele disse: Não passarás. E Edom veio ao seu encontro com muita gente e com mão forte.
21 Thus did Edom refuse to give Israel passage through his boundary,and Israel turned away from him.
21 Assim, Edom recusou-se a permitir que Israel passasse pela sua fronteira, e por isso, Israel se afastou dele.
22 Then set they forward from Kadesh,and the sons of Israel. all the assembly, came in to Mount Hor.
22 E os filhos de Israel, toda a congregação, partiram de Cades e foram ao monte Hor.
23 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron in Mount Hor,near the boundary of the land of Edom saying:
23 E o SENHOR falou a Moisés e a Arão no monte Hor, junto à fronteira da terra de Edom, dizendo:
24 Aaron shall be withdrawn unto his kinsfolk, fur he shall not enter into the land. which I have given unto the sons of Israel,because ye spurned my bidding, at the waters of Meribah.
24 Arão será recolhido a seu povo, pois ele não entrará na terra que dei aos filhos de Israel, porque vos rebelastes contra a minha palavra, nas águas de Meribá.
25 Take thou Aaron, and Eleazar his son,and bring them up Mount Hor;
25 Toma a Arão e a Eleazar, seu filho, e traze-os ao monte Hor.
26 and strip thou Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son,and, Aaron, shall be withdrawn and shall lie there.
26 E despe a Arão de suas vestes e veste-as em Eleazar, seu filho, porque Arão será recolhido ao seu povo, e morrerá ali.
27 And Moses did as Yahweh commanded,and they went up into, Mount Hor, in sight of all the assembly.
27 E Moisés fez como o SENHOR lhe havia ordenado; e subiram ao monte Hor diante dos olhos de toda a congregação.
28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son, and Aaron died there, in the top of the mount,and Moses and Eleazar came down out of the mount.
28 E Moisés despiu a Arão de suas vestes e as vestiu em Eleazar, seu filho; e Arão morreu ali, no topo do monte; e Moisés e Eleazar desceram do monte.
29 And all the assembly saw that Aaron was dead; and they bewailed Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
29 E quando toda a congregação viu que Arão estava morto, toda a casa de Israel chorou por Arão, durante trinta dias.
