1 And it came to pass, on a Sabbath, that he was passing along through cornfields, and his disciples were plucking and eating the ears of corn, rubbing them with their hands.
1 Em dia de sábado, Jesus atravessava umas plantações; seus discípulos iam colhendo espigas {de trigo}, as debulhavam na mão e comiam.
2 But, certain of the Pharisees, saidWhy are ye doing what is not allowed on the Sabbath?
2 Alguns dos fariseus lhes diziam: Por que fazeis o que não é permitido no sábado?
3 And, making answer unto them, Jesus saidHave ye never read, even this, what David did when he hungered, he, and they who were with him
3 Jesus respondeu: Acaso não tendes lido o que fez Davi, quando teve fome, ele e os seus companheiros;
4 How he entered into the house of God, and, the presence-bread, receiving, did eat, and gave to them who were with him, which it is not allowable to eat, save alone, to the priests?
4 como entrou na casa de Deus e tomou os pães da proposição e deles comeu e deu de comer aos seus companheiros, se bem que só aos sacerdotes era permitido comê-los?
5 And he was saying to themThe Son of Man is, Lord of the Sabbath.
5 E ajuntou: O Filho do Homem é senhor também do sábado.
6 And it came to pass, on another Sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue, and was teaching, and there was a man there, and, his right hand, was withered.
6 Em outro dia de sábado, Jesus entrou na sinagoga e ensinava. Achava-se ali um homem que tinha a mão direita seca.
7 Now the Scribes and the Pharisees were narrowly watching him, whether, on the Sabbath, he healeth,that they might find whereof to accuse him.
7 Ora, os escribas e os fariseus observavam Jesus para ver se ele curaria no dia de sábado. Eles teriam então pretexto para acusá-lo.
8 But, he, knew their reasonings, and said to the man who had the, withered, handArise, and stand forward in the midst! And, arising, he stood forward.
8 Mas Jesus conhecia os pensamentos deles e disse ao homem que tinha a mão seca: Levanta-te e põe-te em pé, aqui no meio. Ele se levantou e ficou em pé.
9 And Jesus said unto themI ask you, whether it is allowed, on the Sabbath, to do good or to do harm,life, to save, or, to destroy.
9 Disse-lhes Jesus: Pergunto-vos se no sábado é permitido fazer o bem ou o mal; salvar a vida, ou deixá-la perecer.
10 And, looking round upon them all, he said unto himStretch forth thy hand! and, he, did so, and his hand was restored.
10 E relanceando os olhos sobre todos, disse ao homem: Estende tua mão. Ele a estendeu, e foi-lhe restabelecida a mão.
11 But, they, were filled with folly, and began conversing one with another, as to, what they might do with Jesus.
11 Mas eles encheram-se de furor e indagavam uns aos outros o que fariam a Jesus.
12 And it came to pass, in these days, that he went forth into the mountain to pray, and was spending the night in the prayer-house of God.
12 Naqueles dias, Jesus retirou-se a uma montanha para rezar, e passou aí toda a noite orando a Deus.
13 And, when it became day, he called his disciples, and chose from them, twelve, whom also he named, Apostles,
13 Ao amanhecer, chamou os seus discípulos e escolheu doze dentre eles que chamou de apóstolos:
14 Simon, whom also he named Peter, and Andrew hie brother; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;
14 Simão, a quem deu o sobrenome de Pedro; André, seu irmão; Tiago, João, Filipe, Bartolomeu,
15 and Matthew and Thomas; and James, son of Alphaeus, and Simon, who was called Zealot; and Judas, of James,
15 Mateus, Tomé, Tiago, filho de Alfeu; Simão, chamado Zelador;
16 and Judas Iscariot, who became betrayer;
16 Judas, irmão de Tiago; e Judas Iscariotes, aquele que foi o traidor.
17 and, coming down with them, he stood upon a level place, also a great multitude of his disciples,and a great throng of the people, from all Judaea and Jerusalem and the sea-coast of Tyre and Zidon, who had come to hearken unto him and to be healed from their diseases;
17 Descendo com eles, parou numa planície. Aí se achava um grande número de seus discípulos e uma grande multidão de pessoas vindas da Judéia, de Jerusalém, da região marítima, de Tiro e Sidônia, que tinham vindo para ouvi-lo e ser curadas das suas enfermidades.
18 and, they who were molested by impure spirits, were being cured;
18 E os que eram atormentados dos espíritos imundos ficavam livres.
19 and, all the multitude, were seeking to touch him, because, power, from him, was coming forth, and healing all.
19 Todo o povo procurava tocá-lo, pois saía dele uma força que os curava a todos.
20 And, he, lifting up his eyes towards his disciples, was saying:Happy, ye destitute, for, yours, is the kingdom of God.
20 Então ele ergueu os olhos para os seus discípulos e disse: Bem-aventurados vós que sois pobres, porque vosso é o Reino de Deus!
21 Happy, ye that hunger now, for ye shall be filled. Happy, ye that weep now, for ye shall laugh.
21 Bem-aventurados vós que agora tendes fome, porque sereis fartos! Bem-aventurados vós que agora chorais, porque vos alegrareis!
22 Happy, are ye, whensoever men shall hate you, and whensoever they shall separate you, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man:
22 Bem-aventurados sereis quando os homens vos odiarem, vos expulsarem, vos ultrajarem, e quando repelirem o vosso nome como infame por causa do Filho do Homem!
23 be rejoiced in that day, and leap, for lo! your reward, is great in heaven; for, according to the same things, were their fathers doing unto the prophets.
23 Alegrai-vos naquele dia e exultai, porque grande é o vosso galardão no céu. Era assim que os pais deles tratavam os profetas.
24 But alas! for you, ye wealthy, for ye are duly receiving you consolation.
24 Mas ai de vós, ricos, porque tendes a vossa consolação!
25 Alas! for you, ye who are filled full now, for ye shall hunger. Alas! ye that laugh now, for ye shall mourn and weep.
25 Ai de vós, que estais fartos, porque vireis a ter fome! Ai de vós, que agora rides, porque gemereis e chorareis!
26 Alas! whensoever all men shall, speak well of you, for, according to the same things, were their fathers doing unto the false prophets.
26 Ai de vós, quando vos louvarem os homens, porque assim faziam os pais deles aos falsos profetas!
27 But, unto you, I say, who are hearkening: Be loving your enemies; be doing, good, unto them that hate you;
27 Digo-vos a vós que me ouvis: amai os vossos inimigos, fazei bem aos que vos odeiam,
28 Be blessing them that curse you; be praying for them that wantonly insult you.
28 abençoai os que vos maldizem e orai pelos que vos injuriam.
29 To him who is smiting thee upon the one cheek, be offering, the other also; and, from him who is taking away thy mantle, thy tunic also, do not forbid:
29 Ao que te ferir numa face, oferece-lhe também a outra. E ao que te tirar a capa, não impeças de levar também a túnica.
30 To every one asking thee, give, and, from him that taketh away thy possessions, ask them not back.
30 Dá a todo o que te pedir; e ao que tomar o que é teu, não lho reclames.
31 And, according as ye desire that men be doing unto you, be ye doing unto them, in like manner.
31 O que quereis que os homens vos façam, fazei-o também a eles.
32 And, if ye love them that love you, what sort of thanks are there for you? for, even sinners, love, such as love them.
32 Se amais os que vos amam, que recompensa mereceis? Também os pecadores amam aqueles que os amam.
33 For , if ye even do good unto them that do good unto you, what sort of thanks are there for you? Even sinners, the same, are doing.
33 E se fazeis bem aos que vos fazem bem, que recompensa mereceis? Pois o mesmo fazem também os pecadores.
34 And, if ye lend to them from whom ye are hoping to receive, what sort of thanks are there for you? Even sinners, unto sinners, do lend, that they may receive back, as much.
34 Se emprestais àqueles de quem esperais receber, que recompensa mereceis? Também os pecadores emprestam aos pecadores, para receberem outro tanto.
35 But love your enemies, and do good and lend, hoping for, nothing, back; and your reward shall be, great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High,for, he, is, gracious, unto the ungrateful and wicked.
35 Pelo contrário, amai os vossos inimigos, fazei bem e emprestai, sem daí esperar nada. E grande será a vossa recompensa e sereis filhos do Altíssimo, porque ele é bom para com os ingratos e maus.
36 Become ye compassionate, according as, your Father, is, compassionate;
36 Sede misericordiosos, como também vosso Pai é misericordioso.
37 And do not judge, and in nowise shall ye be judged; and do not condemn, and in nowise shall ye be condemned; release, and ye shall be released;
37 Não julgueis, e não sereis julgados; não condeneis, e não sereis condenados; perdoai, e sereis perdoados;
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will they give into your lap; for, with what measure ye mete, shall it be measured back unto you.
38 dai, e dar-se-vos-á. Colocar-vos-ão no regaço medida boa, cheia, recalcada e transbordante, porque, com a mesma medida com que medirdes, sereis medidos vós também.
39 He spake, moreover, a parable also, unto them: Can, the blind, guide, the blind? will not, both, fall into, a ditch?
39 Propôs-lhes também esta comparação: Pode acaso um cego guiar outro cego? Não cairão ambos na cova?
40 A disciple is not above the teacher; but, when trained, every one shall be as his teacher.
40 O discípulo não é superior ao mestre; mas todo discípulo perfeito será como o seu mestre.
41 But why beholdest thou the mote that is in the eye of thy brother, while, the beam that is in thine own eye, thou dost not consider?
41 Por que vês tu o argueiro no olho de teu irmão e não reparas na trave que está no teu olho?
42 How canst thou say to thy brotherBrother! let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye,thyself, the beam in thine own eye, not beholding? Hypocrite! cast out, first, the beam out of thine own eye, and, then, shalt thou see clearly, to cast out, the mote that is in the eye of thy brother.
42 Ou como podes dizer a teu irmão: Deixa-me, irmão, tirar de teu olho o argueiro, quando tu não vês a trave no teu olho? Hipócrita, tira primeiro a trave do teu olho e depois enxergarás para tirar o argueiro do olho de teu irmão.
43 For a good tree doth not produce worthless fruit, neither again doth, a worthless tree, produce good fruit.
43 Uma árvore boa não dá frutos maus, uma árvore má não dá bom fruto.
44 For, every tree, by its own fruit, becometh known. For not, of thorns, do they gather figs, neither, of a bramble-bush, do they gather, a bunch of grapes.
44 Porquanto cada árvore se conhece pelo seu fruto. Não se colhem figos dos espinheiros, nem se apanham uvas dos abrolhos.
45 The good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and, the wicked man, out of the wicked heart, bringeth forth that which is wicked; for, out of an overflowing of heart, speaketh, his mouth.
45 O homem bom tira coisas boas do bom tesouro do seu coração, e o homem mau tira coisas más do seu mau tesouro, porque a boca fala daquilo de que o coração está cheio.
46 And why call ye me, Lord! Lord! and not do the things that I say?
46 Por que me chamais: Senhor, Senhor... e não fazeis o que digo?
47 Every one coming unto me, and hearkening unto my words, and doing them, I will suggest to you, whom he is like:
47 Todo aquele que vem a mim ouve as minhas palavras e as pratica, eu vos mostrarei a quem é semelhante.
48 He is like unto a man building a house, who digged, and deepened, and laid a foundation upon the rock,and, a flood, coming, the stream burst against that house, and was not strong enough to shake it, because it had been, well, built.
48 É semelhante ao homem que, edificando uma casa, cavou bem fundo e pôs os alicerces sobre a rocha. As águas transbordaram, precipitaram-se as torrentes contra aquela casa e não a puderam abalar, porque ela estava bem construída.
49 But, he that hath heard and not done, is like unto a man having built a house upon the earth, without a foundation,against which the stream burst, and, straightway, it fell in; and it came to pass, that, the crash of that house, was, great.
49 Mas aquele que as ouve e não as observa é semelhante ao homem que construiu a sua casa sobre a terra movediça, sem alicerces. A torrente investiu contra ela, e ela logo ruiu; e grande foi a ruína daquela casa.
