1 Then went Samson unto Gaza,and saw there an unchaste woman, and went in unto her.
1 Então Sansão foi a Gaza, e lá viu uma prostituta, e entrou a ela.
2 And it was told the Gazites, sayingSamson hath come in hither. So they came round, and lay in wait for him, all the night, in the gate of the city,but kept themselves quiet all the night, saying, Until the light of the morning, then will we slay him.
2 E foi dito aos gazitas: Sansão veio para cá. E eles o cercaram, e ficaram esperando por ele toda a noite no portão da cidade, e ficaram quietos toda a noite, dizendo: Pela manhã, quando for dia, nós o mataremos.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city, and of the two doorposts, and tare them away, with the bar, and put them on his shoulders,and carried them up to the top of the hill that faceth Hebron.
3 E Sansão ficou deitado até meia-noite, e se levantou à meia-noite, e pegou as portas do portão da cidade, e os dois postes, e saiu com eles, com a barra e tudo, e os pôs em cima dos seus ombros, e os carregou até o topo de uma colina que fica diante de Hebrom.
4 And it came to pass, after this, that he loved a woman in the ravine of Shorek, whose, name, was Delilah.
4 E sucedeu que, posteriormente, ele amou uma mulher no vale de Soreque, cujo nome era Dalila.
5 So the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said to herEntice him, and see wherein lieth his great strength, and wherewith we may prevail against him, and bind him, to humble him,and, we, will give thee, every man, eleven hundred pieces of silver.
5 E os senhores dos filisteus subiram até ela, e lhe disseram: Seduz-lhe, e vê onde repousa a sua grande força, e por quais meios poderemos prevalecer contra ele, para que possamos amarrá-lo e afligi-lo, e te daremos, cada um de nós, mil e cem peças de prata.
6 So Delilah said unto Samson, Do tell me, I pray thee, wherein lieth thy great strength,and wherewith thou mightest be bound, to humble thee.
6 E Dalila disse a Sansão: Diz-me, rogo-te, onde repousa a tua grande força, e com o que tu podes ser amarrado e afligido.
7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green cords, that have not been dried, then shall I become weak, and be as any other man.
7 E Sansão lhe disse: Se me amarrarem com sete vimes verdes que jamais tenham sido ressecados, então ficarei fraco, e serei como qualquer outro homem.
8 So the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green cords, that had not been dried,and she bound him therewith.
8 Então os senhores dos filisteus trouxeram até ela sete vimes verdes que não haviam sido ressecados, e ela o amarrou com eles.
9 Now, the liers in wait, were tarrying for her, in an inner chamber,and she said unto him,The Philistines, are upon thee, Samson! And he snapped the cords as a thread of tow is broken, when fire bloweth thereon, so his strength was not discovered.
9 Ora, havia homens deitados em espera junto a ela na câmara. E ela lhe disse: Os filisteus estão sobre ti, Sansão. E ele rompeu os vimes, como um fio de estopa se rompe quando encosta no fogo. Então, a sua força não foi conhecida.
10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Lo! thou hast been laughing at me, and speaking unto me falsehoods,Now, do tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.
10 E Dalila disse a Sansão: Eis que zombaste de mim e me contaste mentiras; agora, diz-me, rogo-te, com o que tu podes ser amarrado.
11 And he said unto her, If they, bind me fast, with new ropes, wherewith work was never done, then shall I become weak, and be as any other man.
11 E ele lhe disse: Se me amarrarem firmemente com cordas novas, que jamais foram usadas, então serei fraco, e como qualquer outro homem.
12 So Delilah took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto himThe Philistines, are upon thee, Samson! Now, the liers in wait, were tarrying in an inner chamber. And he snapped them off his arms like a thread.
12 Dalila, portanto, tomou cordas novas, e com elas o amarrou, e lhe disse: Os filisteus estão sobre ti, Sansão. E havia homens deitados em espera na câmara. E ele as rompeu dos seus braços como se fossem um fio.
13 And Delilah said unto SamsonHitherto, hast thou been laughing at me, and speaking unto me falsehoods, do tell me, wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weave the seven braids of my head with the warp.
13 E Dalila disse a Sansão: Até aqui tu tens zombado de mim e me contado mentiras; conta-me com o que tu podes ser amarrado. E ele lhe disse: Se tu teceres as sete tranças da minha cabeça com a trama.
14 So she beat them up with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines, are upon thee, Samson! And he awaked out of his sleep, and pulled out the pin of the loom, and the warp.
14 E ela o prendeu com o pino, e lhe disse: Os filisteus estão sobre ti, Sansão. E ele despertou do seu sono, e saiu com o pino da trave, e com a trama.
15 And she said unto himHow canst thou say, I love thee, when, thy heart, is not with me? These three times, hast thou laughed at me, and hast not told me wherein lieth thy great strength.
15 E ela lhe disse: Como tu podes dizer: Eu te amo; quando o teu coração não está comigo? Zombaste de mim três vezes, e não me contaste onde repousa a tua grande força.
16 And it came to pass, when she urged him with her words continually, and pressed him, that his soul became impatient, unto death;
16 E sucedeu que, quando ela o pressionava diariamente com as suas palavras, e com ele insistia, a sua alma ficou atormentada até a morte;
17 so he told her all his heart, and said to herNo, razor, hath come on my head, for, one separate unto God, have I been, from my birth,if I were shaven, then would depart from me my strength, and I should become weak, and be as any other man.
17 até que ele contou-lhe todo o seu coração, e lhe disse: Jamais veio navalha sobre a minha cabeça; pois sou um nazireu para Deus desde o ventre da minha mãe. Se eu for raspado, então a minha força se irá de mim, e eu me tornarei fraco, e serei como qualquer outro homem.
18 And, when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, sayingCome up this once, for he hath told me all his heart. And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought up the silver in their hand.
18 E quando Dalila viu que ele havia lhe contado todo o seu coração, ela enviou e chamou os senhores dos filisteus, dizendo: Subi mais esta única vez, pois ele me revelou todo o seu coração. Então, os senhores dos filisteus subiram até ela, e trouxeram dinheiro nas suas mãos.
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees, and called for a man, and caused him to shave off the seven braids of his head,and she began to humble him, and his strength departed from him.
19 E ela fez com que ele dormisse sobre os seus joelhos; e chamou um homem, e fez com que ele raspasse as sete tranças da sua cabeça; e ela começou a afligi-lo, e a sua força se foi dele.
20 And she saidThe Philistines, are upon thee, Samson! And he awoke out of his sleep, and saidI will go out now, as time after time, and shake myself free: he, not knowing, that, Yahweh, had departed from him.
20 E ela lhe disse: Os filisteus estão sobre ti, Sansão. E ele despertou do seu sono, e disse: Eu sairei como nas outras vezes anteriores, e me sacudirei. E ele não sabia que o SENHOR havia se retirado dele.
21 And the Philistines seized him, and put out his eyes,and took him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of bronze, and it came to pass that he used to grind in the prison.
21 Mas os filisteus o apanharam, e lhe arrancaram os olhos, e o fizeram descer até Gaza, e o amarraram com grilhões de bronze; e ele fazia moagem na casa prisional.
22 And the hair of his head began to grow, after he had been shaven.
22 Todavia, o cabelo da sua cabeça começou a crescer novamente, depois de ter sido raspado.
23 Now, the lords of the Philistines, had gathered themselves together to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice,and they said, Our god hath delivered into our hand, Samson our enemy.
23 Então, os senhores dos filisteus se reuniram para oferecer um grande sacrifício a Dagom, o seu deus, e para se alegrar, pois diziam: O nosso deus entregou Sansão, o nosso inimigo, na nossa mão.
24 And, when the people saw him, they praised their god,for they saidOur god hath delivered into our hand our enemy, even him who laid waste our land, and who multiplied our slain.
24 E quando o povo o viu, louvou o seu deus; pois diziam: O nosso deus entregou em nossas mãos o nosso inimigo, e o destruidor da nossa terra, o qual matou muitos de nós.
25 And it came to pass, when their heart was merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make sport for us. So they called for Samson out of the prison, and he made sport before them, and they stationed him between the pillars.
25 E sucedeu que, quando o coração deles estava alegre, disseram: Chamai Sansão, para que ele nos faça diversão. E chamaram Sansão da casa prisional; e ele lhes fez diversão; e eles o colocaram no meio de duas colunas.
26 And Samson said unto the youth that held him by his hand, Place me where I may feel the pillars whereon the house resteth, that I may lean upon them.
26 E Sansão disse ao moço que o segurava pela mão: Permite que eu possa sentir as colunas sobre as quais a casa se apoia, para que nelas eu possa me encostar.
27 Now, the house, was full of men and women, there, also were all the lords of the Philistines,and, on the roof, were about three thousand men and women, looking on while Samson made sport.
27 Ora, a casa estava repleta de homens e mulheres; e todos os senhores dos filisteus lá estavam; e havia sobre o telhado cerca de três mil homens e mulheres, que observavam enquanto Sansão os divertia.
28 So then Samson cried unto Yahweh, and said,My Lord Yahweh! remember me, I pray thee,and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be avenged, with one avenging, for my two eyes, upon the Philistines.
28 E Sansão clamou ao SENHOR, e disse: Ó Senhor DEUS, recorda-te de mim, rogo-te, e me fortalece, rogo-te, só mais esta vez, ó Deus, para que eu possa ser, de uma vez, vingado dos filisteus pelos meus dois olhos.
29 Then did Samson grasp the two middle pillars, whereon the house rested, and whereon it was upheld, and he braced himself against them,the one with his right hand, and the other with his left.
29 E Sansão se agarrou às duas colunas centrais sobre as quais a casa se colocava de pé, e sobre as quais ela se sustentava, uma com a sua mão direita, e outra com a sua esquerda.
30 And Samson saidLet my soul die with the Philistines! And he bowed mightily, and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead, whom he slew at his death, were more than they whom he slew in his life.
30 E Sansão disse: Que morra eu com os filisteus. E ele se curvou com toda a sua força; e a casa caiu sobre os senhores, e sobre todo o povo dentro dela. Assim, os mortos que ele provocou na sua morte foram mais do que aqueles que ele matou na sua vida.
31 Then came down his brethren, and all the house of his father, and lifted him, and carried him up, and buried him, between Zorah and Eshtaol, in the buryingplace of Manoah his father,he, having judged Israel twenty years.
31 Então, os seus irmãos e toda a casa do seu pai desceram, e o tomaram, e o fizeram subir, e o sepultaram entre Zorá e Estaol no sepulcro de Manoá, seu pai. E ele julgou Israel por vinte anos.
