1 And the sons of Israel again did the thing that was wicked in the sight of Yahweh,so Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of the Philistines, forty years.
1 Mais uma vez, os israelitas fizeram o que era mau aos olhos do S enhor . Por isso, o S enhor os entregou nas mãos dos filisteus, que os oprimiram durante quarenta anos.
2 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, and, his name, was Manoah; and, his wife, was barren, and had borne no child.
2 Naqueles dias, um homem chamado Manoá, da tribo de Dã, vivia na cidade de Zorá. Sua esposa era estéril, e eles não tinham filhos.
3 And the messenger of Yahweh appeared unto the woman,and said unto herLo! I pray thee, thou, art barren, and hast borne no child, but thou shalt conceive, and shalt bear a son.
3 O anjo do S enhor apareceu à esposa de Manoá e disse: “Embora você não tenha conseguido ter filhos até agora, ficará grávida e dará à luz um filho.
4 Now, therefore, beware, I pray thee, and do not drink wine or strong drink,nor eat anything unclean;
4 Portanto, tenha cuidado; não beba vinho e nenhuma outra bebida fermentada, nem coma nenhum alimento que seja impuro.
5 for lo! thou, art about to conceive and bear a son, and no, razor, shall come on his head, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be from his birth,and, he, shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
5 Você ficará grávida e dará à luz um filho, do qual jamais cortará o cabelo, porque ele será consagrado a Deus como nazireu desde o nascimento. Ele começará a libertar Israel das mãos dos filisteus”.
6 So the woman came in, and told her husband, saying, A man of God, came unto me, and, his, appearance, was as the appearance of the messenger of God, reverend exceedingly,and I asked him not whence he was, and, his name, he told me not.
6 A mulher foi correndo contar ao marido: “Um homem de Deus apareceu para mim! Era como um dos anjos de Deus, e sua aparência era assustadora. Não perguntei de onde era, e ele não me disse seu nome.
7 But he said unto me, Lo! thou art about to conceive, and bear a son,now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be, from his birth until the day of his death.
7 Mas ele me disse: ‘Você ficará grávida e dará à luz um filho. Não beba vinho e nenhuma outra bebida fermentada, nem coma nenhum alimento que seja impuro. Seu filho será consagrado a Deus como nazireu desde o nascimento até o dia de sua morte’”.
8 Then Manoah made entreaty unto Yahweh, and said: Pardon, O My Lord! the man of God whom thou didst send, I pray thee, let him come again unto us, that he may teach us what we are to do, unto the boy that is to be born.
8 Então Manoá orou ao S enhor : “Senhor, eu peço que o homem de Deus que enviaste volte e nos dê mais instruções a respeito desse filho que vai nascer”.
9 And God hearkened unto the voice of Manoah,and the messenger of God came again unto the woman, as, she, was sitting in the field, Manoah her husband, not being with her.
9 Deus atendeu à oração de Manoá, e o anjo de Deus apareceu outra vez à esposa quando ela estava sentada no campo. Seu marido, Manoá, não estava com ela.
10 So the woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband,and said unto him, Lo! the man, hath appeared unto me, who came the other day unto me.
10 Então ela foi correndo contar ao marido: “O homem que apareceu outro dia está aqui de novo!”.
11 Then Manoah arose, and followed his wife,and came unto the man, and said unto himArt, thou, the man that spake unto the wife? And he saidI am.
11 Manoá voltou depressa com sua esposa e perguntou: “O senhor é o homem que falou com minha esposa outro dia?”. “Sim, sou eu”, respondeu ele.
12 And Manoah said, Now, let thy words come to pass,What shall be the rule for the boy, and his work?
12 Então Manoá perguntou: “Quando suas palavras se cumprirem, como devemos criar o menino? Qual será o trabalho dele?”.
13 And the messenger of Yahweh said unto Manoah,Of all that I said unto the woman, let her beware.
13 O anjo do S enhor respondeu: “Sua esposa deverá seguir as instruções que lhe dei.
14 Of nothing that cometh of the vine, may she eat, nor wine nor strong drink, let her drink, nor, anything unclean, let her eat,all that I commanded her, let her observe.
14 Ela não deve comer uvas nem passas, não deve beber vinho e nenhuma outra bebida fermentada, nem deve comer nenhum alimento que seja impuro. Ela deverá fazer tudo que ordenei”.
15 And Manoah said unto the messenger of Yahweh,I pray thee, let us detain thee, that we may make ready for thy presence, a kid.
15 Manoá disse ao anjo do S enhor : “Por favor, fique aqui até prepararmos um cabrito para o senhor”.
16 But the messenger of Yahweh said unto ManoahThough thou detain me, yet will I not eat of thy food, and, though thou make ready an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh, must thou cause it to ascend. For Manoah had not discerned that, the angel of Yahweh, he was.
16 “Está bem, só que não comerei nada”, respondeu o anjo do S enhor . “Mas você pode preparar um holocausto como sacrifício ao S enhor .” Manoá ainda não havia percebido que era o anjo do S enhor .
17 Then said Manoah unto the messenger of Yahweh, What is thy name,that, when thy word cometh to pass, we may do thee honour?
17 Manoá perguntou ao anjo do S enhor : “Qual é seu nome? Queremos lhe prestar homenagem quando isso tudo se cumprir”.
18 And the messenger of Yahweh said unto him, Wherefore is it, that thou shouldst ask after my name,seeing that, it, is Wonderful?
18 “Por que quer saber meu nome?”, disse o anjo do S enhor . “Ele é tão maravilhoso que você não conseguiria entender!”
19 So Manoah took the kid, and the meal-offering, and caused them to ascend upon the rock unto Yahweh, who was about to do, wondrously, while Manoah and his wife were looking on.
19 Então Manoá tomou um cabrito e uma oferta de cereal e os apresentou sobre uma rocha como sacrifício ao S enhor . Enquanto Manoá e sua esposa observavam, o S enhor fez algo extraordinário.
20 And it came to pass, when the flame ascended from off the altar, towards the heavens, that the messenger of Yahweh ascended in the flame of the altar,while Manoah and his wife were looking on. Then fell they on their faces, to the earth.
20 Quando as chamas do altar subiram ao céu, o anjo do S enhor subiu nas chamas. Ao verem isso, Manoá e sua esposa se curvaram com o rosto no chão.
21 And the messenger of Yahweh did no more appear unto Manoah or unto his wife. Then, Manoah knew that, the messenger of Yahweh, he was.
21 O anjo do S enhor não voltou a aparecer a Manoá e sua esposa. Então Manoá finalmente percebeu que era o anjo do S enhor
22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall, die,for, upon God, have we looked.
22 e disse à sua esposa: “Com certeza vamos morrer, pois vimos a Deus!”.
23 But his wife said unto him, If Yahweh had been pleased to put us to death, he would not have received at our hand, an ascending-sacrifice and a meal-offering, nor would he have shewed us all these things,and, at such a time, have let us hear the like of this!
23 Sua esposa, porém, disse: “Se o S enhor quisesse nos matar, não teria aceitado o holocausto e a oferta de cereal. Não teria aparecido a nós, nem nos teria revelado essas coisas maravilhosas!”.
24 So the woman hare a son, and called his name Samson,and the boy grew, and Yahweh blessed him.
24 Quando o menino nasceu, ela o chamou de Sansão. O S enhor o abençoou enquanto ele crescia,
25 And the spirit of Yahweh began to urge him to and fro, in the camp of Dan,between Zorah and Eshtaol.
25 e o Espírito do S enhor começou a agir nele quando ele morava em Maané-Dã, entre Zorá e Estaol.
