1 So then Joshua rose early in the morning, and they brake up from The Acacias and came as far as the Jordan, he and all the sons of Israel,and they lodged there before they passed over.
1 E Josué se levantou de manhã cedo; e eles saíram de Sitim e vieram ao Jordão, ele e todos os filhos de Israel, e ali se alojaram antes de atravessarem.
2 And it came to pass, after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp,
2 E sucedeu que, depois de três dias, os oficiais foram pelo meio do acampamento;
3 and commanded the people saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, and, the priests the Levites, bearing it, ye also, shall break up out of your place, and come after it.
3 e eles ordenaram ao povo, dizendo: Quando virdes a arca do pacto do SENHOR, vosso Deus, e os sacerdotes, os levitas carregando-a, então saireis do vosso lugar e a seguireis.
4 Yet shall there be, a distance, between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure,do not come near unto it that ye may get to know the way by which ye must go, for ye have not passed this way, heretofore.
4 Contudo, haverá um espaço entre vós e ela, cerca de dois mil côvados de medida; não venhais próximo a ela, para que possais saber o caminho pelo qual deveis ir, pois não passastes por este caminho até então.
5 Then said Joshua unto the people, Hallow yourselves,for, to-morrow, will Yahweh do in your midst, wonderful things.
5 E Josué disse ao povo: Santificai-vos, porque amanhã o SENHOR fará maravilhas no meio de vós.
6 And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take ye up the ark of the covenant, and pass on before the people. So they took up the ark of the covenant, and went on before the people.
6 E Josué falou aos sacerdotes, dizendo: Tomai a arca do pacto, e passai adiante do povo. E eles tomaram a arca do pacto, e foram antes do povo.
7 Then said Yahweh unto Joshua: This day, will I begin to magnify thee in the eyes of all Israel,who shall know, that, as I was with Moses, I will be with thee.
7 E o SENHOR disse a Josué: Neste dia começarei a te exaltar à vista de todo Israel, para que eles possam saber que, assim como eu estava com Moisés, também estarei contigo.
8 Thou, therefore, shalt command the priests who am bearing the ark of the covenant, saying,When ye are come as far as the edge of the waters of the Jordan, in the Jordan, shall ye stand.
8 E tu ordenarás aos sacerdotes que carregam a arca do pacto, dizendo: Quando chegardes à beira das águas do Jordão, permanecereis de pé e parados no Jordão.
9 Then said Joshua, unto the sons of Israel,Draw near hither, and hear ye the words of Yahweh your God.
9 E Josué disse aos filhos de Israel: Vinde para cá e ouvi as palavras do SENHOR, vosso Deus.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby, shall ye know, that a Living GOD is in your midst,and that he will, certainly dispossess, from before you, the Canaanite and the Hittite, and the Hivite and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite.
10 E Josué disse: Por meio disto sabereis que o Deus vivo está no meio de vós, e que ele, sem falta, expulsará de diante de vós os cananeus, os heteus, os heveus, os ferezeus, os girgaseus, os amorreus e os jebuseus.
11 Lo! the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth, is about to pass before you into the Jordan.
11 Eis que a arca do pacto do Senhor de toda a terra passa adiante de vós, para dentro do Jordão.
12 Now, therefore, take you twelve men, out of the tribes of Israel,one man severally for each tribe;
12 Portanto, agora, tomai doze homens das tribos de Israel, de cada tribo um homem.
13 and it shall be, when the soles of the feet of the priests who are bearing the ark of Yahweh, Lord of all the earth, do rest, in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan, shall be cut off, the waters that are coming down from above,and shall stand in one mound.
13 E sucederá que, tão logo as solas dos pés dos sacerdotes que carregam a arca do SENHOR, o Senhor de toda a terra, repousarem nas águas do Jordão, se separarão as águas do Jordão, e as águas, que vêm de cima, pararão amontoadas.
14 And it came to pass, when the people set out from their tents, to cross the Jordan,with the priests, bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,
14 E sucedeu, quando o povo saiu das suas tendas, para atravessar o Jordão, e os sacerdotes carregando a arca do pacto diante do povo;
15 then, as the bearers of the ark came as far as the Jordan, and, the feet of the priests who were bearing the ark, were dipped in the edge of the waters,the Jordan being full over all his banks, all the days of harvest,
15 e, quando aqueles que carregavam a arca chegaram ao Jordão, e os pés dos sacerdotes que carregavam a arca foram submersos na beira da água, (pois o Jordão transborda todas as suas margens durante todo o tempo da colheita)
16 that the waters which were coming down from above, stoodrose up in one mound, a great way off, by the city Adam, which is beside Zarethan, and, they which were going down to the sea of the waste plain, the salt sea, failedwere cut off,and, the people, passed over, right against Jericho.
16 que as águas que desciam de cima permaneceram e se ergueram em um amontoado mui distante da cidade de Adã, que está ao lado de Sartã; e as que desciam em direção ao mar da planície, que é o mar de sal, falharam, e foram separadas; e o povo atravessou direto em direção a Jericó.
17 And the priests who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, stood on dry ground, in the midst of the Jordan, with firm footing,while all Israel were passing over on dry ground, until all the nation had made an end of passing over the Jordan.
17 E os sacerdotes que carregavam a arca do pacto do SENHOR permaneceram firmes em terra seca no meio do Jordão, e todos os israelitas atravessaram em terra seca, até que todo o povo terminou de passar pelo Jordão.
