1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying;

2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem sayingThus saith Yahweh, I remember in thy behalf, the lovingkindness of thy youthful days, The love of thy bridal estate,Thy coming out after me, Through the desert, Through a land, not sown:

3 Holiness, was Israel unto Yahweh, The first-fruit of his increase,All that devoured it, were held guilty, Calamity used to come upon them,Declareth Yahweh.
3 Povo de Israel, você era só meu; era sagrado como o trigo que é colhido primeiro e oferecido a mim. Eu castiguei todos os que fizeram você sofrer e fiz cair o mal sobre eles. Eu, o
4 Hear ye the word of Yahweh O house of Jacob, And all the families of the house of Israel.
4 Descendentes de Jacó e famílias do povo de Israel, escutem a mensagem de Deus, o Senhor .
5 Thus, saith Yahweh,What did your fathers find in me by way of perversity, that they removed far from me,and went after vanity, and became vain?
5 Ele diz: “Que defeito os seus antepassados acharam em mim para me abandonar? Adoraram ídolos inúteis e eles mesmos se tornaram inúteis.
6 Neither said they, Where is Yahweh, Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt,Who led us Through the desert, Through a land of wastes and clefts, Through a land of parched places and of death-shade, Through a land, Along which no man had passed, And in which no son of earth dwelt?
6 Eles me desprezaram; no entanto, fui eu quem os tirou do Egito. Eu os levei pelo deserto, terra de montanhas e de precipícios; terra seca e perigosa, por onde ninguém viaja e onde ninguém mora.
7 Then brought I you into a country of garden land, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof,and yet when ye entered, then defiled ye my land, and mine inheritance, ye made an abomination
7 Eu os trouxe para uma terra boa a fim de que se alimentassem das suas colheitas e do que ela tem de melhor. Mas eles vieram e mancharam a minha terra; fizeram com que a terra que lhes dei virasse um lugar nojento.
8 The priests, said not Where is Yahweh? And, they who handled the law, did not acknowledge me, And the shepherds transgressed against me,And the prophets, prophesied by Baal, And so after things that could not profit, did they walk.
8 Os sacerdotes não perguntaram: ‘Onde está o Os que lidam com a Os governadores se revoltaram contra mim. Os e adoraram ídolos que não podem ajudar ninguém.”
9 Therefore yet further will I plead with you Declareth Yahweh, Yea with your childrens children, will I plead.
9 O Senhor Deus diz: “Assim eu vou novamente fazer uma acusação contra o meu povo. Vou apresentar a minha causa contra vocês e os seus descendentes. Sou eu, o
10 Forpass through the coastlands of the West and see, And unto Kedar, send ye and consider diligently,And seewhether there hath been the like of this!
10 Vão até a ilha de Chipre, no Oeste, e vejam; mandem alguém a Quedar, no Leste, e prestem bastante atenção, pois uma coisa como esta nunca aconteceu antes.
11 Hath a nation, changed gods, although they were No-gods? Yet my people have changed my glory for that which could not profit!
11 Nenhuma outra nação trocou os seus deuses por outros que nem eram deuses de verdade. Mas o meu povo me trocou, trocou a mim, o seu Deus por deuses que não podem ajudá-los.
12 Be amazed, O ye heavens, at this,And shudder, be dried up utterly, Urgeth Yahweh.
12 Por isso, eu, o Senhor , vou mandar que o céu trema de horror e que fique cheio de pavor e de espanto.
13 For two wicked things, have my people committed,Me, have they forsaken a fountain of living water, To hew out for themselves cisterns broken cisterns, that cannot hold water.
13 O meu povo cometeu dois pecados: Eles abandonaram a mim, a fonte de água fresca, e cavaram cisternas, cisternas rachadas que deixam vazar a água da chuva.”
14 Was Israel a servant? Born in the house, was he? Wherefore hath he become a prey?
14 O Senhor Deus diz: “O povo de Israel não é escravo, nem nasceu escravo. Então por que os seus inimigos o escravizam?
15 Against him, have been roaring wild lions, They have uttered their voice,and have made his land a desolation, His cities, have been burned, so as to have no inhabitant.
15 Como se fossem leões, eles têm dado urros contra Israel; eles têm rugido com força. Fizeram com que a terra de Israel virasse um deserto; as suas cidades estão destruídas, e ninguém mora nelas.
16 Even the sons of Noph and Tahpanhes have been crushing the crown of the head.
16 Sim, os moradores de Mênfis e de Tafnes raparam a cabeça de Israel.
17 Is not this what thou wast certain to do for thyself,in that thou didst forsake Yahweh thy God, when he was leading thee by the way?
17 “Povo de Israel, foi por sua própria culpa que tudo isso aconteceu com você. Você abandonou a mim, o quando eu o estava guiando pelo caminho.
18 Now, therefore what hast thou to do with the way to Egypt, to drink the waters of Shihor? Or what hast thou to do with the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River? \fs15
18 E, agora, o que é que você vai ganhar, indo até o Egito para beber água do rio Nilo? O que você vai ganhar, indo até a Assíria para beber água do rio Eufrates?
19 Let thy wickedness correct thee And thine apostasies, rebuke thee, Know therefore and see That it is a wicked thing and a bitter, that thou shouldest have forsaken Yahweh thy God, And that the dread of me should not have pertained to thee, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh of hosts.
19 A sua própria maldade o castigará, e você será condenado porque me abandonou. Você vai aprender de uma vez como é ruim e amargo abandonar a mim, o e deixar de me Eu, o
20 For, in age-past time, I brake thy yoke, I tare off thy fetters, And thou saidst, I will not transgress,Nevertheless, on every high hill, and under every green tree, wast thou lying down as an unchaste woman.
20 O Senhor Deus diz: “Povo de Israel, faz muito tempo que você rejeitou a minha autoridade. Você não quis me obedecer, nem me adorar. E, em todos os montes altos e debaixo de todas as árvores sagradas, você praticava imoralidade na adoração aos deuses.
21 Yet, I, planted thee a precious vine, a wholly true seed,How then didst thou change thyself towards me, into the degenerate plantings of the alien vine?
21 Eu o plantei como uma parreira escolhida, uma muda da melhor qualidade. Mas veja o que você é agora! É uma parreira estragada, que não presta mais.
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, And take thee much soap, Yet is thine iniquity inscribed before me Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
22 Mesmo que você se lavasse com muito sabão, com sabão bem forte, eu ainda poderia ver a mancha da sua culpa. Sou eu, o
23 How canst thou say, I have not defiled myself, After the Baalim, have I not gone? See thy way, in the valley, Own what thou hast done,A nimble young she-camel, crossing her own ways;
23 Como é que você pode dizer que não se manchou e que nunca adorou o deus Veja como você pecou no vale, veja só o que fez. Você é como uma camela nova no cio, correndo solta por aí.
24 A wild ass, taught of the desert, In the desire of her soul, she snuffeth the wind, In her occasion, who can turn her back? None who seek her, will weary themselves, In her month, they shall find her!
24 É como uma jumenta selvagem do deserto, quando está no cio: quem a pode impedir de satisfazer o seu desejo? O macho que a quer não precisa procurá-la: ela sempre pode ser encontrada na época do cruzamento.
25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, And thy throat from thirst! But thou saidst Hopeless! No! for I love foreigners and after them, will I go.
25 Povo de Israel, cuidado para que os seus pés não se machuquem de tanto você andar atrás de outros deuses; cuidado para que a sua garganta não fique seca. Mas você diz: ‘Não! Não adianta! Eu me apaixonei por deuses estrangeiros e vou atrás deles.’ ”
26 As the shame of a thief when he is found, So, hath been put to shame, the house of Israel,They, their kings their princes, and their priests and their prophets:
26 O Senhor Deus diz: — Como o ladrão fica envergonhado quando é pego, assim o povo de Israel passará vergonha: todos vocês, os seus reis e príncipes, os seus sacerdotes e
27 Saying, to a tree, My father, art thou! And to a stone, Thou, didst give us birth, For they have turned unto me the back and not the face,But in the time of their calamity, they will say, Arise, and save us!
27 Passarão vergonha todos aqueles que dizem a um pedaço de madeira: “Você é o meu pai”, e a uma pedra: “Você é a minha mãe”. Isso vai acontecer porque vocês me viraram as costas, em vez de virarem o rosto para o meu lado. No entanto, quando estão em dificuldades, vocês vêm me pedir que os salve.
28 Where then are thy gods which thou hast made for thyself? Let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy calamity,For according to the number of thy cities, have become thy gods O Judah.
28 Onde estão os deuses que vocês fizeram para vocês mesmos? Quando vocês estão em dificuldades, que eles os salvem, se é que podem. Judá, os seus deuses são tantos quantas as suas cidades.
29 Wherefore, should ye plead against me, All of you, have transgressed against me Declareth Yahweh.
29 Eu, o Senhor , pergunto: — Qual é a queixa que vocês têm de mim? Vocês todos se revoltaram contra mim.
30 In vain, have I smitten your children, Correction, have they not accepted,Your sword hath devoured your prophets, as a lion that destroyeth.
30 Eu os castiguei, porém isso não adiantou nada; vocês não quiseram aprender a lição. Como um leão furioso, vocês mataram os seus próprios profetas.
31 O generation see, ye, the word of Yahweh, A desert, became I unto Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Wherefore, have my people said, We have roved about, We will not come in any more unto thee?
31 Todos vocês, prestem muita atenção no que estou dizendo. Povo de Israel, será que eu tenho sido para vocês como um deserto, como uma terra perigosa? Então por que é que vocês dizem que vão fazer o que quiserem e que não voltarão mais para mim?
32 Can, a virgin, forget, her ornaments,A bride, her girdle? Yet, my people, have forgotten me, days without number.
32 Por acaso, uma jovem esquece as suas joias? Ou uma noiva esquece o seu véu? Mas o meu povo esqueceu de mim por tantos dias, que nem dá para contar.
33 How thou dost make winsome thy way, to seek love! Therefore, even unto wicked women, hast thou taught thy ways.
33 Vocês sabem muito bem como andar atrás dos amantes, e até as prostitutas podem aprender isso com vocês.
34 Even in thy skirts, is there found, The blood of the lives of the helpless innocents,Not in the act of breaking in, didst thou find them, yet on all these.
34 As roupas de vocês estão manchadas com o sangue de pobres e inocentes que nunca assaltaram as suas casas. — Mas, apesar de tudo isso, o meu povo diz:
35 Although thou saidst, Because I am innocent, surely hath his anger turned back from me,Behold me! entering into judgment with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned!
35 “Eu estou inocente. Certamente, o Senhor Deus não está mais irado comigo.” Mas eu, o Senhor , o castigarei porque você diz que não pecou.
36 How vigorously, thou goest about changing thy way! Even of Egypt, shalt thou be ashamed, just as thou wast ashamed of Assyria:
36 Por que você muda assim para pior, sem mais nem menos? Como você ficou desiludido com a Assíria, também ficará desiludido com o Egito.
37 Even from this one, shalt thou go forth, with thy hands upon thy head,For Yahweh hath rejected those in whom thou confidest, and thou shalt not prosper with them.
37 Você vai voltar também do Egito de cabeça baixa, envergonhado. Eu, o Senhor , rejeitei aqueles em quem você confia; você não vai ganhar nada ficando com eles.
