Jeremias 29

1 Now these, are the, words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem,unto the residue of the elders of the captivity, and unto the priests and unto the prophets and unto all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;
1 Ora, são estas as palavras da carta que Jeremias, o profeta, enviou de Jerusalém, aos que restavam dos anciãos do cativeiro, como também aos sacerdotes, e aos profetas, e a todo o povo, que Nabucodonosor levara cativos de Jerusalém para Babilônia,
2 after that Jeconiah the king and the queen-mother and the eunuchs the princes of Judah and Jerusalem and the craftsmen and the smiths, had gone forth from Jerusalem;
2 depois de terem saído de Jerusalém o rei Jeconias, e a rainha-mãe, e os eunucos, e os príncipes de Judá e Jerusalém e os artífices e os ferreiros.
3 by the hand of Elasah son of Shaphan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, saying:
3 Veio por mão de Elasa, filho de Safã, e de Gemarias, filho de Hilquias, os quais Zedequias, rei de Judá, enviou a Babilônia, a Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia; eis as palavras da carta:
4 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Unto all the captivity whom I have suffered to be carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon:
4 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel, a todos os do cativeiro, que eu fiz levar cativos de Jerusalém para Babilônia:
5 Build ye houses and dwell in them,And plant ye gardens and eat the fruit thereof;
5 Edificai casas e habitai-as; plantai jardins, e comei o seu fruto.
6 Take ye wives and beget sons and daughters, And take wives, for your sons, and, your daughters, give ye to husbands, That they may bear sons and daughters,And so become ye many there and do not become few;
6 Tomai mulheres e gerai filhos e filhas; também tomai mulheres para vossos filhos, e dai vossas filhas a maridos, para que tenham filhos e filhas; assim multiplicai-vos ali, e não vos diminuais.
7 And seek the welfare of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray for her unto Yahweh,For in her welfare, shall ye have welfare.
7 E procurai a paz da cidade, para a qual fiz que fôsseis levados cativos, e orai por ela ao Senhor: porque na sua paz vós tereis paz.
8 For Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, Let not your prophets that are in your midst nor your diviners beguile you,Neither hearken ye unto your dreams which ye are dreaming;
8 Pois assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Não vos enganem os vossos profetas que estão no meio de vós, nem os vossos adivinhadores; nem deis ouvidos aos vossos sonhos, que vós sonhais;
9 For falsely, are they prophesying unto you in my name,I have not sent them, Declareth Yahweh.
9 porque eles vos profetizam falsamente em meu nome; não os enviei, diz o Senhor.
10 For, thus, saith Yahweh,That as soon as there are fulfilled to Babylon seventy years, I will visit you,and establish for you my good word, by causing you to return unto this place.
10 Porque assim diz o Senhor: Certamente que passados setenta anos em Babilônia, eu vos visitarei, e cumprirei sobre vós a minha boa palavra, tornando a trazer-vos a este lugar.
11 For, I, know the plans which I am planning for you Declareth Yahweh,Plans of welfare and not of calamity, To give you a future and a hope.
11 Pois eu bem sei os planos que estou projetando para vós, diz o Senhor; planos de paz, e não de mal, para vos dar um futuro e uma esperança.
12 So shall ye call upon me,And go and pray unto me,And I will hearken unto you;
12 Então me invocareis, e ireis e orareis a mim, e eu vos ouvirei.
13 So shall ye seek me and find, For ye will enquire after me with all your heart;
13 Buscar-me-eis, e me achareis, quando me buscardes de todo o vosso coração.
14 And I will be found of you, Declareth Yahweh, And will turn back your captivity, And will gather you out of all the nations and out of all the places whither I have driven you, Declareth Yahweh, And will bring you back into the place whence I had caused you to be carried away captive:
14 E serei achado de vós, diz o Senhor, e farei voltar os vossos cativos, e congregarvos-ei de todas as nações, e de todos os lugares para onde vos lancei, diz o Senhor; e tornarei a trazer-vos ao lugar de onde vos transportei.
15 Because ye have said,Yahweh hath raised us up prophets in Babylon.
15 Porque dizeis: O Senhor nos levantou profetas em Babilônia;
16 For, thus, saith Yahweh Against the king who is sitting on the throne of David, and Against all the people who are remaining in this city,your brethren who have not gone forth with you into captivity:
16 portanto assim diz o Senhor a respeito do rei que se assenta no trono de Davi, e de todo o povo que habita nesta cidade, vossos irmãos, que não saíram convosco para o cativeiro;
17 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Behold me! sending upon them sword famine, and pestilence,So will I make them like the horrid figs, that cannot be eaten for badness;
17 assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que enviarei entre eles a espada, a fome e a peste e fá-los-ei como a figos péssimos, que não se podem comer, de ruins que são.
18 Therefore will I pursue them with sword with famine and with pestilence,And will make them a terror to all the kingdoms of the earth A curse and an astonishment and a hissing and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
18 E persegui-los-ei com a espada, com a fome e com a peste; farei que sejam um espetáculo de terror para todos os reinos da terra, e para serem um motivo de execração, de espanto, de assobio, e de opróbrio entre todas as nações para onde os tiver lançado,
19 Because they hearkened not unto my words Declareth Yahweh,which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, betimes, sending them yet hearkened they not Declareth Yahweh.
19 porque não deram ouvidos às minhas palavras, diz o Senhor, as quais lhes enviei com insistência pelos meus servos, os profetas; mas vós não escutastes, diz o Senhor.
20 Ye, therefore, hear ye the word of Yahweh, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:
20 Ouvi, pois, a palavra do Senhor, vós todos os do cativeiro que enviei de Jerusalém para Babilônia.
21 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel Concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in my name, a falsehood, Behold me! delivering them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he will smite them before your eyes:
21 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel, acerca de Acabe, filho de Colaías, e de Zedequias, filho de Maaséias, que vos profetizam falsamente em meu nome: Eis que os entregarei na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, e ele os matará diante dos vossos olhos.
22 So shall there be taken upfrom thema curse, by all of the captivity of Judah who are in Babylon saying,Yahweh make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, Whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!
22 E por causa deles será formulada uma maldição por todos os exilados de Judá que estão em Babilônia, dizendo: O Senhor te faça como a Zedequias, e como a Acabe, os quais o rei de Babilônia assou no fogo;
23 Because they have committed vileness in Israel And have committed adultery with the wives of their neighbours, And have spoken as a word in my name a falsehood, which I commanded them not,And, I, am one who knowethand a witness Declareth Yahweh.
23 porque fizeram insensatez em Israel, cometendo adultério com as mulheres de seus próximos, e anunciando falsamente em meu nome palavras que não lhes mandei. Eu o sei, e sou testemunha disso, diz o Senhor.
24 Also unto Shemaiah the Nehelamite, shalt thou speak, saying:
24 E a Semaías, o neelamita, falarás, dizendo:
25 Thus, speaketh Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, saying,Because, thou, hast sent in, thine own name, letters, unto all the people who are in Jerusalem, and unto Zephaniah son, of Maaseiah the priest, and unto all the priests saying:
25 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Porquanto enviaste em teu próprio nome cartas a todo o povo que está em Jerusalém, como também a Sofonias, filho de Maaséias, o sacerdote, e a todos os sacerdotes, dizendo:
26 Yahweh, hath made thee priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be deputies in the house of Yahweh, to any man who is raving and prophesying, so shalt thou put him into the stocks and into the pillory:
26 O Senhor te pôs por sacerdote em lugar de Jeoiada, o sacerdote, para que fosses encarregado da casa do Senhor, sobre todo homem obsesso que profetiza, para o lançares na prisão e no tronco;
27 Now, therefore, why, hast thou not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is prophesying unto you?
27 agora, pois, por que não repreendeste a Jeremias, o anatotita, que vos profetiza?
28 For, on this account, hath he sent unto us in Babylon, saying,Tis, long! Build ye houses and dwell in them, And plant gardens and eat the fruit thereof.
28 Pois que até nos mandou dizer em Babilônia: O cativeiro muito há de durar; edificai casas, e habitai-as; e plantai jardins, e comei do seu fruto.
29 And Zephaniah the priest hath read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet,
29 E lera Sofonias, o sacerdote, esta carta aos ouvidos de Jeremias, o profeta.
30 Therefore hath the word of Yahweh come unto Jeremiah, saying:
30 Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:
31 Send thou unto all them of the captivity, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh, Concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite,Because Shemaiah, hath prophesied to you, when, I, had not sent him, And hath caused you to trust in falsehood,
31 Manda a todos os do cativeiro, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor acerca de Semaías, o neelamita: Porquanto Semaías vos profetizou, quando eu não o enviei, e vos fez confiar numa mentira,
32 Therefore Thus, saith Yahweh,Behold me! bringing punishment upon Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and upon his seed, he shall have no man to dwell in the midst of rids people, Nor shall he see the good that I am about to do for my people, Declareth Yahweh; Because revolt, hath he spoken against Yahweh.
32 portanto assim diz o Senhor: Eis que castigarei a Semaías, o neelamita, e a sua descendência; ele não terá varão que habite entre este povo, nem verá ele o bem que hei de fazer ao meu povo, diz o Senhor, porque pregou rebelião contra o Senhor.
