Jeremias 14

1 So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah, concerning the matter of the drought:
1 Palavra do SENHOR, que veio a Jeremias, a respeito da escassez.
2 Judah mourneth, And the gates thereof, pine They lie in gloom on the ground,And the outcry Jerusalem, hath ascended;
2 Judá chora e os seus portões definham. Eles sentam-se de luto no chão, e o clamor de Jerusalém está subindo.
3 And, their nobles have sent their menials to the waters,They have been to the pits, They have found no water They have returned, their vessels empty, They are pale and ashamed and have covered their heads.
3 E os seus nobres enviaram seus pequeninos às águas. Eles vieram às covas, e não encontraram água; eles retornaram com seus vasos vazios; eles ficaram envergonhados e perplexos, e cobriram suas cabeças.
4 Because the ground, is cracked, For there hath been no rain in the land, The plowmen are pale They have covered their heads.
4 Porque o chão está rachado, pois não houve chuva na terra, os lavradores ficaram envergonhados, e cobriram suas cabeças.
5 For, even the hind of the field hath calved and forsaken, Because there is no young herbage;
5 Sim, a corça também pariu no campo e o abandonou, porque não havia grama.
6 Yea, wild asses stand still on the bare heights, They pant for air like jackals,Dimmed are their eyes Because there is no grass.
6 E os jumentos selvagens permaneceram nos lugares elevados, eles aspiraram o vento como dragões. Os seus olhos desfaleceram, porquanto não havia grama.
7 Though, our iniquities, have testified against us, O Yahweh, effectually work thou for the sake of thy Name,For our apostasies have abounded Against thee, have we sinned.
7 Ó SENHOR, embora nossas iniquidades testifiquem contra nós, faze tu isto por causa do teu nome, pois nossas apostasias são muitas. Nós pecamos contra ti.
8 Thou Hope of Israel, His Saviour in the time of distress,Wherefore shouldst thou be as a sojourner in the and? Or as a wayfarer, who hath turned aside to lodge for the night?
8 Ó esperança de Israel, e salvador seu no tempo de aflição, por que serias tu como um estrangeiro na terra, e como um estrangeiro que desvia para passar a noite?
9 Wherefore, shouldst thou be as a man astounded, As a mighty man who cannot save? Yet, thou, art in our midstO Yahweh And, thy Name, on us, hath been called Do not abandon us!
9 Por que serias como um homem cansado, como um homem poderoso que não pode salvar? Contudo tu, ó SENHOR, estás no meio de nós, e nós somos chamados pelo teu nome; não nos abandones.
10 Thus, saith Yahweh To this people In this way, have they loved to wander, Their feet, have they not restrained,Yahweh, therefore hath not accepted them, Now, will he call to mind their iniquity,That he may punish their sins.
10 Assim diz o SENHOR para este povo: Pois que tanto amaram perambular, eles não contiveram seus pés; logo o SENHOR não os aceita. Ele se lembrará agora da iniquidade do povo e visitará os seus pecados.
11 And Yahweh said unto me,Do not pray for this people for blessing;
11 Então disse-me o SENHOR: Não ores pelo bem deste povo.
12 Though they fast, I am not going to hearken unto their loud cry, and Though they offer ascending-sacrifice and meal-offering, I am not going to accept them,For with sword and with famine and with pestilence, am, I, about to consume them.
12 Quando jejuarem, eu não ouvirei o seu clamor e quando oferecerem oferta queimada e uma oblação, eu não os aceitarei. Porém eu os consumirei pela espada, e pela fome, e pela peste.
13 Then said I, Ah, My Lord Yahweh! Lo! the prophets, are saying to themYe shall not see the sword And famine, shall ye not have,For prosperity in truth, will I give you, in this place.
13 Então eu disse: Ah, Senhor DEUS! Eis que os profetas lhes dizem: Vós não vereis a espada, nem tereis fome, porém eu vos garantirei a paz neste lugar.
14 So then Yahweh said unto me, Falsehood, are the prophets prophesying in my name, I have not sent them Neither have I commanded them, Neither have I spoken unto them,A vision of falsehood, and A divination of worthlessness and A fraud of their own hearts, They, are prophesying unto you.
14 Então disse-me o SENHOR: Os profetas profetizam mentiras em meu nome, eu não os enviei, nem lhes dei ordem, nem lhes falei. Eles vos profetizam falsas visões, adivinhações, e coisas que não existem, e o engano dos seus corações.
15 Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh concerning the prophets who are prophesying in my Name though, I, sent them not, and yet, they have beer, saying, Neither sword nor famine, shall there be in this land,By sword or by famine, shall these prophets be consumed;
15 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR a respeito dos profetas que profetizam em meu nome, sem que eu os tenha enviado, contudo dizem: Espada e fome não haverá nesta terra. Pela espada e fome serão esses profetas consumidos.
16 And the people to whom they have been prophesying shall be getting cast out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword, and of there being none to give burial unto them, them, their wives, nor their sons nor their daughters,So will I pour out upon them their own wickedness.
16 E o povo a quem eles profetizam será expelido nas ruas de Jerusalém, por causa da fome e da espada, e não terão ninguém para os enterrar: eles, suas esposas, nem seus filhos, nem suas filhas, pois eu irei derramar sobre eles a sua perversidade.
17 Therefore shalt thou say unto them this word, Let mine eyes, run down with tears night and day, And let them not rest,For with a grievous injury, hath been injured the virgin the daughter of my people, With a wound, severe indeed!
17 Portanto tu dirás esta palavra: Meus olhos desfaleceram em lágrimas noite e dia, e não cessarão, porque a virgem filha do meu povo está ferida com uma grande brecha, por um golpe muito doloroso.
18 If I have gone out into the field, Then lo! the slain of the sword! And if have entered the city, Then lo! the diseases of famine! For, both prophet and priest, have trafficked against the land unnoticed.
18 Se eu saio para o campo, então observo os mortos pela espada! E se adentro a cidade, então vejo aqueles debilitados pela fome! Sim, tanto o profeta quanto o sacerdote vão rodeando a terra que eles não conhecem.
19 Hast thou, utterly rejected, Judah? Zion itself, hath thy soul loathed? Why, hast thou smitten us so that there is for us no healing? A waiting For prosperity, but no welfare, and For a time of healing, but lo! terror!
19 Rejeitaste tu a Judá completamente? Ou tua alma despreza a Sião? Por que nos afligiste, e não há cura para nós? Nós procuramos a paz, e não há bem, e para o tempo de cura, eis o problema!
20 We acknowledge O Yahweh Our own lawlessness The iniquity of our fathers,For we have sinned against thee.
20 Nós reconhecemos, ó SENHOR, nossa perversidade, e a iniquidade dos nossos pais, pois nós pecamos contra ti.
21 Do not despisefor the sake of thy Name, Do not treat with contemptthe throne of thy glory,Remember!do not break thy covenant with us.
21 Não nos detestes, por causa do teu nome. Não tragas vergonha sobre o trono de tua glória. Lembra-te, não quebres o teu pacto conosco.
22 Are there, among the vanities of the nations senders of rain? Or can, the heavens themselves, give myriad drops? Art not, thou, he, O Yahweh our God? Therefore will we wait for thee, For, thou, hast made all these.
22 Haverá, porventura, dentre as vaidades dos gentios, alguém que possa fazer chover? Ou podem os céus produzir chuva? Não és tu, ó SENHOR nosso Deus? Portanto nós esperaremos por ti, pois tu fazes todas estas coisas.
