1 Righteous, art thou O Yahweh, when I present my pleading unto thee,Yet, concerning the things that are right, let me speak with thee,Wherefore hath, the way of the lawless, prospered? have all, utter traitors, been at ease?
1 Justo serias, Senhor , se eu apresentasse a minha causa diante de ti. No entanto, preciso falar contigo a respeito da justiça. Por que o caminho dos ímpios prospera? Por que todos os traidores vivem em paz?
2 Thou didst plant them, yea they took root, They have gone on yea they have borne fruit,Near, art thou, in their mouth, But far off from their affections,
2 Tu os plantas, e eles lançam raízes; crescem e dão fruto. Estás perto dos lábios deles, mas longe do coração.
3 But thou O Yahweh, knowest me, Wilt thou observe me and try my heart towards thee? Drag them away, as sheep for slaughter, And hallow them for the day when they are to be slain.
3 Mas tu, ó Senhor , me conheces; tu me vês e provas o que o meu coração sente em relação a ti. Arranca-os como ovelhas destinadas ao matadouro e separa-os para o dia da matança.
4 How long, shall the land mourn, And, the herbage of the whole field, wither? For the wickedness of them that dwell therein, beast and bird, have perished, For say they, He will not see our latter end!
4 Até quando a terra estará de luto, e se secará a erva de todo o campo? Os animais e as aves estão morrendo por causa da maldade dos moradores da terra, que dizem: “Deus não vê aquilo que nos espera.”
5 If, with the footmen, thou hast run and they have wearied thee, How then wilt thou hotly contend with horses? Though in a safe land thou art confident, Yet how wilt thou deal with the proud banks of the Jordan?
5 “Jeremias, se você se cansa correndo com homens que vão a pé, como poderá competir com os que vão a cavalo? Se em terra de paz você não se sente seguro, que fará na floresta do Jordão?
6 For even thy brethren and the house of thy father, Even they! have betrayed thee, Even they, have cried after thee with full voice,Do not trust in them, though they speak unto thee fair words.
6 Porque até mesmo os seus irmãos e a casa de seu pai estão sendo desleais para com você; eles o perseguem com fortes gritos. Não confie neles, ainda que lhe digam coisas boas.”
7 I have forsaken mine own house, I have given up mine inheritance,I have delivered the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies:
7 “Abandonei o meu templo, rejeitei a minha herança; entreguei aquela que eu mais amava nas mãos de seus inimigos.
8 Mine inheritance, hath become to me as a lion in a jungle,She hath given forth against me her voice, For this cause, have I hated her.
8 A minha herança tornou-se para mim como um leão na floresta; levantou a voz contra mim, e por isso eu a odeio.
9 Is it, a variegated bird of prey, that mine inheritance is to me? The birds of prey, are round about against her! Go ye, assemble all the beasts of the field bring them to devour.
9 A minha herança é para mim uma ave de rapina de várias cores contra a qual se ajuntam outras aves de rapina. Vão, pois, e reúnam todos os animais do campo; que eles venham para devorá-la.
10 Many shepherds, have laid waste my vineyard, They have trampled down my portion,They have turned my coveted portion into a desert of desolation:
10 Muitos pastores destruíram a minha vinha e pisaram o meu campo; fizeram da porção que era o meu prazer um deserto.
11 It hath been made a desolation, It hath mourned unto me as desolate,All the land hath become a desolation, For, no man, layeth it to heart.
11 Eles a tornaram em desolação, e, no seu abandono, ela clama a mim; toda a terra está devastada, mas não há ninguém que se importe com isso.
12 On all the bare heights in the wilderness, have come despoilers, For the sword of Yahweh hath devoured from one end of the land unto the other,There is peace for no flesh!
12 Sobre todos os lugares altos do deserto vieram destruidores; porque a espada do de um a outro extremo da terra; não há paz para ninguém.
13 They sowed, wheat, but thorns, have they reaped, They have put themselves to pain they shall not be profited,Yea turn ye pale at your produce, Because if the glow of the anger of Yahweh.
13 Semearam trigo e colheram espinhos; cansaram-se, mas sem proveito algum. Ficarão envergonhados das suas colheitas, por causa do furor da ira do
14 Thus, saith Yahweh, Concerning all my wicked neighbours, who have been touching the inheritance which I gave as an inheritance unto my people Israel,Behold me! uprooting them from off their own soil, Whereas the house of Judah, will I uproot out of their midst.
14 Assim diz o Senhor a respeito de todos os meus maus vizinhos, que se apoderam da minha herança, que deixei ao meu povo de Israel: — Eis que os arrancarei da sua terra, e arrancarei a casa de Judá do meio deles.
15 And it shall come to pass after I bare uprooted them, I will again have compassion upon them,and will bring them backEvery manto his own inheritance and Every manto his own land.
15 Depois de os haver arrancado, eu me voltarei e terei compaixão deles e os farei voltar, cada um à sua herança, cada um à sua terra.
16 And it shall come to passIf they will, diligently learn, the ways of my peopleTo swear by my Name saying, By the life of Yahweh, As they taught my people to swear by Baal, Then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
16 Se diligentemente aprenderem os caminhos do meu povo; se jurarem pelo meu nome, dizendo: “Tão certo como vive o Senhor ”, assim como no passado ensinaram o meu povo a jurar por Baal, então serão edificados no meio do meu povo.
17 But if they will not hearken, Then will I Uproot that nation, Uproot, that I may destroy,Declareth Yahweh.
17 Mas, se não quiserem ouvir, arrancarei essa nação; arrancarei e destruirei, diz o Senhor .
