Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NTLH
1 Thus, saith YahwehWhere then is the set, oil of your mothers divorce, whom I have put away? Or, which of my creditors, is it to whom I have sold you? Lo! for your iniquities, have ye been sold, And for your transgressions, hath your mother been put away.
1 O Senhor Deus diz ao seu povo: “Será que vocês acham que eu os mandei embora como um homem manda embora a sua mulher ? Então onde está o documento de divórcio? Ou acham que eu os vendi como escravos a fim de pagar as minhas dívidas? Não! Vocês foram levados prisioneiros por causa dos seus pecados; eu os mandei embora por causa das suas maldades.
2 Wherefore, When I came in, was there no one? When I called, was there none to answer? Is mine own hand, really shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or is there not, in me, strength to deliver? Lo! by my rebuke, I dry up the sea I make rivers a desert, Their fish Stinketh, for want of water, Yea dieth, for thirst:
2 Por que é que ninguém foi me encontrar quando eu vim salvá-los? Por que ninguém respondeu quando eu chamei? Será que agora não tenho poder para salvá-los? Será que já perdi toda a minha força? Não! É só eu dar uma ordem, e o mar seca. Faço os rios virarem um deserto; assim, por falta de água, os peixes morrem de sede e começam a cheirar mal.
3 I clothe the heavens with gloom, And, of sackcloth, make I their covering.
3 Posso cobrir de escuridão o céu, posso fazê-lo vestir roupa de luto.”
4 My Lord Yahweh, hath given unto me the tongue of the instructed, That I should know how to succour the fainting, with discourse,He kept wakeningmorning by morning. He kept wakening mine ear, to hearken as do the instructed;
4 O Senhor Deus me ensina o que devo dizer a fim de animar os que estão cansados. Todas as manhãs, ele faz com que eu tenha vontade de ouvir com atenção o que ele vai dizer.
5 My Lord, Yahweh, opened mine ear, And, I, was not rebellious,Away, turned I not:
5 O Senhor Deus me deu entendimento, e eu não me revoltei, nem fugi dele.
6 My back, gave I to smiters, and My cheeks, to them who pulled out the beard,My face, hid I not from insult and spitting.
6 Ofereci as minhas costas aos que me batiam e o rosto aos que arrancavam a minha barba. Não tentei me esconder quando me xingavam e cuspiam no meu rosto.
7 Because, My Lord, Yahweh, would help me, Therefore was I not deterred by insult,Therefore did I set my face like flint, And I knew that I should not be put to shame.
7 Mas eu não me sinto envergonhado, pois o Por isso, eu fico firme como uma rocha e sei que não serei humilhado,
8 At hand, is one who can justify me. Who will contend with me? let, us stand forth together,Who can accuse me? let him draw near to me!
8 pois o meu defensor está perto. Alguém tem uma causa contra mim? Então vamos juntos ao tribunal. Alguém quer me processar? Que venha e apresente a sua acusação!
9 Lo! My Lord, Yahweh, will help me, Who is he that shall prove me lawless? Lo! they all, as a garment, shall fall to pieces, the moth shall consume them.
9 O Senhor Deus é quem me defende, e por isso ninguém poderá me condenar. Todos os meus inimigos desaparecerão; serão como um vestido que as traças destruíram.
10 Who among you, revereth Yahweh, Hearkening unto the voice of his Servant,That hath walked in dark places And hath had no gleam of light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh, And lean upon his God.
10 Escutem, vocês que temem o Senhor e obedecem às ordens do seu se o caminho em que andam é escuro, sem nenhum raio de luz, confiem no ponham a sua esperança no seu Deus.
11 Lo! all ye that kindle a fire, That gird yourselves with fiery darts,Walk ye in the blaze of your own fire. And in the fiery darts ye have kindled, At my hand, hath this befallen you, In sorrow, shall ye lie down.
11 Mas vocês que acendem uma fogueira e se armam com flechas incendiárias, todos vocês cairão no fogo que acenderam e serão mortos pelas suas próprias flechas. O um sofrimento horrível os espera.
