1 For, this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him,
1 Porque este Melquisedeque, rei de Salém, sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo, que encontrou Abraão quando este regressava da matança dos reis, e o abençoou,
2 To whom even a tenth of all Abraham apportioned, first, indeed, when translated, King of Righteousness, but, after that, King of Salem also, which is King of Peace,
2 a quem também Abraão deu a décima parte de tudo; sendo primeiramente, por interpretação do seu nome, Rei de justiça, e depois disso também Rei de Salém, que é Rei de paz.
3 Without father, without mother, without pedigree, having, neither beginning of days, nor of life an end, but made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest evermore.
3 Sem pai, sem mãe, sem genealogia, não tendo princípio de dias nem fim de vida, mas feito semelhante ao Filho de Deus, permanece sacerdote para sempre.
4 Now consider, how great, this man was, to whom, a tenth, Abraham gave out of the choicest spoils, the Patriarch.
4 Considerai agora o quão grande era este homem, a quem até o patriarca Abraão deu o dízimo dos seus despojos.
5 And, they, indeed, from among the sons of Levi who the priesthood receive, have commandment to take tithes of the people, according to the law, that is, of their brethren, although sprung from the loins of Abraham;
5 E verdadeiramente aqueles dentre os filhos de Levi, que recebem o ofício do sacerdócio têm ordem de tomar os dízimos do povo, segundo a lei, isto é, de seus irmãos, ainda que estes também tenham saído dos lombos de Abraão.
6 But, he who deriveth not his pedigree from among them, hath taken tithes of Abraham. And, the holder of the promises, hath he blessed.
6 Mas aquele cuja genealogia não é contada entre eles, recebeu os dízimos de Abraão, e abençoou ao que tinha as promessas.
7 But, apart from all gainsaying, the less, by the greater, is blessed.
7 E, sem contradição alguma, o inferior é abençoado pelo superior.
8 And, here, indeed, dying men take tithes, but, there, one of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
8 E aqui, homens que morrem recebem dízimos; lá, porém, os recebe aquele que pode provar que está vivo.
9 Andso to say a wordthrough Abraham, even Levi who taketh tithes hath paid tithes;
9 E, assim como digo, Levi também, que recebe dízimos, pagou-os por meio de Abraão,
10 For, even then, was he, in the loins of his father, when, Melchizedek, met him.
10 porque ainda encontrava-se nos lombos de seu pai quando Melquisedeque o encontrou.
11 If indeed, therefore, there had been, a perfecting through means of the Levitical priesthood,for, the people, thereon, have had based a code of laws, what further need, according to the rank of Melchizedek, for a different priest to be raised up, and, not according to the rank of Aaron, to be designated?
11 De modo que, se a perfeição viesse pelo sacerdócio levítico, (pois o povo recebeu a lei sob este sacerdócio), que necessidade haveria ainda de que outro sacerdote se levantasse, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque, e que não fosse chamado segundo a ordem de Arão?
12 For, seeing there is to be a change of the priesthood, of necessity, of law too, a change cometh.
12 Porque ao mudar-se o sacerdócio, uma mudança na lei também se faz necessária.
13 For, he as to whom these things are said, with a different tribe, hath taken partnership, from which, no one, hath given attendance at the altar;
13 Porque aquele sobre quem estas coisas são ditas pertence a uma outra tribo, a qual nenhum homem assistiu ao altar,
14 For it is, very evident, that out of Judah hath sprung our Lord,respecting which tribe, concerning priests, nothing did Moses speak,
14 pois é evidente que o nosso Senhor procedeu de Judá, tribo da qual Moisés nada falou acerca de sacerdotes.
15 And, yet more abundantly evident it isthat, according to the likeness of Melchizedek, there is to be raised up, a different priest.
15 E isto é ainda mais evidente; pois que após a semelhança de Melquisedeque, se levanta um outro sacerdote,
16 Who, not according to a law of commandment dealing with the flesh, hath arisen, but according to the power of an indissoluble life;
16 que não foi feito conforme a lei de um mandamento carnal, mas segundo o poder de uma vida infinita.
17 For it is witnessedThou, art a priest, age-abidingly, according to the rank of Melchizedek.
17 Porque ele testifica: Tu és sacerdote para sempre, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque.
18 For, a setting aside, doth, indeed, take place, of a foregoing commandment, by reason of its own weakness and unprofitableness,
18 Porque há, verdadeiramente, uma anulação do mandamento anterior por conta de sua fraqueza e ineficácia.
19 For, the law, perfected, nothing; but there is the superinducing of a better hope,through which we draw near unto God.
19 Porque a lei não aperfeiçoou coisa alguma, mas a introdução de uma melhor esperança, pela qual nos aproximamos de Deus.
20 And, inasmuch as not apart from oath-taking
20 Mas não foi na ausência de um juramento que ele foi feito sacerdote.
21 For, they, indeed, apart from oath-taking, have been made priests, but, he, with an oath-taking, through him that was saying unto himThe Lord sware, and will not regret,Thou, art a priest, age-abidingly
21 (Porque aqueles foram feitos sacerdotes sem juramento, mas este com um juramento daquele que lhe disse: Jurou o Senhor, e não se arrependerá: Tu és um sacerdote para sempre, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque).
22 By as much as this, hath, Jesus, become surety of a better covenant also.
22 Portanto, Jesus foi feito fiador de um testamento superior.
23 And, they, indeed, in greater numbers, have been made priests, because, by reason of death, are they hindered from remaining at hand;
23 E eles realmente eram muitos sacerdotes, porque não podiam permanecer, porque a morte os impedia.
24 But, he, by reason of his remaining age-abidingly, untransmissible, holdeth, the priesthood.
24 Mas este homem, porque permanece para sempre, possui um sacerdócio intransferível.
25 Whence he is able, even to be saving unto the very end, them who approach, through him, unto God; Since he evermore liveth to be interceding in their behalf.
25 Portanto, ele também é capaz de salvar perfeitamente os que vêm a Deus por ele, pois vive sempre para interceder por eles.
26 For, such a high-priest as this, for us, was even suited: Loving, noble, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and become, higher than the heavens;
26 Pois tal sumo sacerdote nos convinha, porque é santo, inocente, imaculado, separado dos pecadores, e elevado acima dos céus.
27 Who hath no daily necessity, like the high-priests, beforehand, over his own sins, to be offering sacrifices, after that, over those, of the people,for, this, he did once for all when, himself, he offered up.
27 Que não necessita, como aqueles sumos sacerdotes, oferecer diariamente sacrifícios, primeiramente por seus próprios pecados, e depois pelos pecados das pessoas; porque isto ele fez uma vez, quando se ofereceu a si mesmo.
28 For, the law, constituteth, men, high-priests, having, weakness; but, the word of the oath-taking, which cometh after the law, A Son, age-abidingly, made perfect.
28 Porque a lei constitui como sumos sacerdotes homens que têm fraquezas, mas a palavra do juramento, que veio desde a lei, constitui o Filho, consagrado para sempre.
