1 So the two messengers went in towards Sodom at eventide, Lot, being seated in the gate of Sodom,so Lot beheld and rose up to meet them, and bowed himself with his face to the earth.
1 E vieram dois anjos a Sodoma ao entardecer; e Ló estava sentado no portão de Sodoma. E Ló, vendo-os, levantou-se para encontrá-los, e ele curvou-se com a sua face em direção a terra;
2 And he said Behold, I pray you my lords turn aside, I pray you, into the house of your servant,and tarry the night and bathe your feet, so shall ye rise early, and go on your way. And they said, Nay, but, in the broad way, will we tarry the night.
2 e ele disse: Eis, agora, meus senhores, entrai, rogo-vos, na casa de vosso servo, e ficai a noite toda, e lavai vossos pés, e levantareis cedo e ireis no vosso caminho. E eles disseram: Não! Nós permaneceremos na rua toda noite.
3 But he became exceeding urgent with them, so they turned aside unto him and entered into his house,and he made for them a banquet, unleavened cakes, also did he bake, and they did eat.
3 E insistiu com eles grandemente, e foram com ele, e entraram em sua casa; e ele lhes fez um banquete, e assou pão ázimo, e eles comeram.
4 Ere yet they lay down, the men of the citythe men of Sodom, had come round against the house, from youth even unto age,all the people from every quarter,
4 Mas antes que eles se deitassem, os homens da cidade, até os homens de Sodoma, rodearam a casa toda, tanto velhos como os jovens, todo o povo de cada quarteirão.
5 And they called unto Lot and said to him, Where are the men who have come in unto thee tonight? Bring them forth unto us, and let us know them!
5 E eles chamaram Ló, e lhe disseram: Onde estão os homens que vieram a ti esta noite? Traze-os fora até nós, para que possamos conhecê-los.
6 And Lot went forth unto them to the entrance; but the door, closed he behind him.
6 E Ló saiu à porta até eles, e fechou a porta atrás de si;
7 And he said,Do not I pray you my brethren act wickedly.
7 e disse: Rogo-vos, irmãos, que não venhais a agir tão perversamente.
8 Behold, I pray you, I, have two daughters who have not known man, I must needs now bring, them, forth unto you, and do ye to them, as may be good in your eyes,Only to these men, ye may do nothing; for on this account, have they come under the shade of my roof.
8 Eis que eu tenho duas filhas que não conheceram homem. Suplico-vos, deixai que eu as traga a vós, e fazei a elas o que for bom aos vossos olhos; porém a estes homens não façais nada; pois, eles vieram sob a sombra do meu telhado.
9 And they said, Stand back, And they said, This one, by himself, hath come in to sojourn and must always be acting the judge, Now, will we do more wickedly to thee, than to them. So they pressed sere upon the manupon Lotexceedingly, and drew near to break open the door.
9 E eles disseram: Para trás. E eles disseram novamente: Este indivíduo veio aqui para peregrinar, e ele quer ser juiz; agora agiremos pior contigo do que com eles. E pressionaram severamente sobre o homem, sobre Ló, e chegaram perto de quebrar a porta.
10 And the men thrust forth their hand, and brought Lot in unto them into the houseand, the door, they closed:
10 Mas os homens estenderam suas mãos, e puxaram Ló para dentro da casa até eles, e fecharam a porta.
11 the men also who were at the entrance of the house, smote they with blindness, from small even unto great, so that they wearied themselves to find the entrance.
11 E eles feriram os homens que estavam à porta da casa com cegueira, tanto pequenos quanto grandes, de modo que se cansaram tentando achar a porta.
12 And the men said unto Lot, Whom besides hast thou here? Son-in-law and thy sons and thy daughters, and all that thou hast in the city, bring thou forth out of the place;
12 E os homens disseram a Ló: Tens mais alguém aqui? Genro, e teus filhos e tuas filhas e qualquer um que tiveres na cidade? Traze-os para fora deste lugar.
13 For we are about to destroy this place,for, great, is the outcry of them unto the face of Yahweh, so that Yahweh hath sent us to destroy it.
13 Porque destruiremos este lugar, porque o clamor deles tem subido diante da face do SENHOR, e o SENHOR nos enviou para destruí-lo.
14 And Lot went forth and spake unto his sons-inlaw who were about to take his two daughters and said Arise come forth out of this place, for Yahweh is about to destroy the city. And it came to pass, that he was as one that laughed, in the eyes of his sons-in-law.
14 E Ló saiu, e falou a seus genros, que haviam casado com suas filhas, e disse: Levantai-vos, saí deste lugar, porque o SENHOR destruirá esta cidade. Mas ele parecia com alguém que zombava dos seus genros.
15 But as soon as, the dawn had sprung up, the messengers hastened Lot saying,Arise! take thy wife and thy two daughters that are at hand, lest thou be swept away in the punishment of the city.
15 E quando a manhã surgiu, então os anjos apressaram Ló, dizendo: Levanta-te, toma tua esposa, e tuas duas filhas, que estão aqui, para que não sejas consumido na iniquidade da cidade.
16 And he lingeredso the men laid hold of his hand and of the hand of his wife and of the hand of his two daughters, in the tenderness of Yahweh towards him,and they brought him out and led him forth outside the city.
16 E enquanto ele demorava, os homens seguraram a sua mão e a mão de sua esposa, e a mão de suas duas filhas; o SENHOR foi misericordioso com eles, e tiraram-no, e puseram-no fora da cidade.
17 And it came to pass when they had brought them forth outside, that they said, Escape for thy life, Look not behind thee, neither stand still in all the vale,To the mountain, escape thou lest thou be swept away.
17 E aconteceu que, quando os haviam trazido para fora dali, ele disse: Foge por tua vida, não olhes para trás, nem fiques em toda esta planície; foge para o monte, para que não sejas consumido.
18 And Lot said unto them,No, I pray thee, My Lord!
18 E Ló lhes disse: Oh! Assim não, meu Senhor;
19 Behold, I pray thee thy servant hath found favour in thine eyes, so that thou hast magnified thy lovingkindness which thou hast performed with me in keeping alive my soul.But, I, cannot escape to the mountain, lest calamity overtake me so shall I die.
19 eis que agora teu servo encontrou graça aos teus olhos, e tu magnificaste a tua misericórdia, que mostraste ao salvar a minha vida, e eu não posso fugir para o monte, para que o mal não me alcance, e eu morra.
20 Behold, I pray thee, this city, is near for fleeing thither And, it, is a little one, let me I pray thee, escape thitheris it not a, little, one? That my soul may live!
20 Eis que esta cidade está próxima para fugir, e é pequena. Oh! Deixa que eu fuja para lá (não é pequena?) e minha alma viverá.
21 And he said unto him, Behold! I have lifted up thy countenance, even as to this thing,so that I will not overthrow the city, of which thou hast spoken.
21 E ele lhe disse: Vê, aceitei-te também com respeito a esta coisa, que eu não derrubarei esta cidade, pela qual tu falaste.
22 Haste thee escape thither, for I cannot do anything, until thou have come in thither. For this cause: was the name of the city called Zoar.
22 Apressa-te, fuja para lá, pois eu não posso fazer coisa alguma até que tu chegues lá. Por isso se chamou o nome da cidade Zoar.
23 When, the sun, had come forth on the earth, Lot had entered into Zoar.
23 O sol havia se levantado sobre a terra quando Ló entrou em Zoar.
24 And, Yahweh, rained, upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah, brimstone and fire,from Yahweh, out of the heavens:
24 Então, o SENHOR fez chover sobre Sodoma e sobre Gomorra enxofre e fogo do SENHOR desde o céu.
25 so he overthrew these cities, and all the circuit,and all the inhabitants of the cities, and the produce of the ground.
25 E ele derrubou aquelas cidades, e toda a planície, e todos os habitantes das cidades, e o que crescia sobre a terra.
26 But his wife looked from behind him,and becamea pillar of salt.
26 Mas a sua esposa olhou para trás por detrás dele, e ela se tornou um pilar de sal.
27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning, unto the place where he had stood before Yahweh;
27 E Abraão levantou-se cedo de manhã e foi para o lugar onde havia estado de pé diante do SENHOR.
28 and he looked out over the face of Sodom and Gomorrah, and over all the face of the land of the circuit, and beheld and lo! the smoke of the land went up, like the smoke of a furnace.
28 E ele olhou para Sodoma e Gomorra, e para toda a terra da planície, e eis que viu a fumaça da terra que subia como fumaça de uma fornalha.
29 And it came to pass when God destroyed the cities of the circuit, that God remembered Abraham, and sent forth Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities wherein Lot had dwelt.
29 E aconteceu que, quando Deus destruiu as cidades da planície, Deus lembrou-se de Abraão e retirou Ló do meio da destruição, quando ele derrubou as cidades em que Ló habitara.
30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain and his two daughters with him. for he feared to dwell in Zoar, so he dwelt in a cave, he, and his two daughters.
30 E Ló subiu de Zoar, e habitou no monte, e suas duas filhas com ele, pois ele temia habitar em Zoar; e ele habitou em uma caverna, ele e suas duas filhas.
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger. Our father is old,and, a man, there is not in the earth to come in unto us, after the way of all the earth.
31 E a primogênita disse à mais jovem: Nosso pai está velho, e não há homem na terra para entrar a nós, segundo a maneira de toda a terra;
32 Come on! let us cause our father to drink wine and let us lie with him, that we may keep alive from our father, a seed.
32 vem, façamos nosso pai beber vinho, e deitaremos com ele, para que possamos preservar semente de nosso pai.
33 So they caused their father to drink wine that night,and the firstborn went in. and lay with her father, but he noticed not her lying down nor her rising up.
33 E elas fizeram seu pai beber vinho naquela noite; e a primogênita entrou e deitou com seu pai, e ele não percebeu quando ela deitou, nem quando ela se levantou.
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Lo! I lay, last night with my father, let us cause him to drink wine this night also, and go thou inlie with him, that we may keep alive from our father, a seed.
34 E aconteceu que, no dia seguinte, a primogênita disse à mais jovem: Eis que eu deitei com meu pai na noite passada; demos-lhe de beber vinho esta noite também, e entra tu, e deita com ele, para que possamos preservar a semente de nosso pai.
35 So they caused their father, on that night also to drink wine, and the younger arose, and lay with him, but he noticed not her lying down, nor her rising up.
35 E elas fizeram seu pai beber vinho naquela noite também; e a mais jovem se levantou, e deitou-se com ele, e ele não percebeu quando ela deitou, nem quando ela se levantou.
36 Thus did, the two daughters of Lot conceive from their father.
36 Assim, as duas filhas de Ló conceberam de seu pai.
37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab,the same, is the father of Moab, unto this day.
37 E a primogênita deu à luz um filho, e chamou seu nome Moabe; este mesmo é o pai dos moabitas até este dia.
38 And the younger she also bare a son, and called his name Ben-ammi,the same, is the father of the sons of Ammonunto this day.
38 E a mais jovem, ela também deu à luz um filho, e chamou seu nome Ben-Ami; este mesmo é o pai dos filhos de Amom até este dia.
