1 On that day, did King Ahasuerus give unto Esther the queen, the house of Haman, the adversary of the Jews,and, Mordecai, came in before the king, for Esther had told, what he was to her.
1 Naquele dia, deu rei Assuero à rainha Ester a casa de Hamã, o inimigo dos judeus. E Mardoqueu veio diante do rei; porque Ester havia declarado quem ele era.
2 And the king took off his signet-ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai,and Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
2 E o rei retirou o seu anel, o qual ele tinha tirado de Hamã, e deu-o a Mardoqueu. E Ester pôs Mardoqueu sobre a casa de Hamã.
3 Yet again, spake Esther before the king, and fell down at his feet,and wept and made supplication unto him, to cause the mischief of Haman the Agagite to pass away, even the plot which he had plotted against the Jews.
3 E Ester falou mais uma vez diante do rei, e caiu aos seus pés, e com lágrimas suplicou para afastar a maldade de Hamã, o agagita, e o plano que ele tinha preparado contra os judeus.
4 And the king held out unto Esther, the golden sceptre,so Esther arose, and stood before the king;
4 Então, o rei estendeu o cetro de ouro em direção a Ester. Assim, Ester levantou-se e se pôs de pé diante do rei,
5 and saidIf, unto the king, it seem good, and if I have found favour before him, and the thing be approved before the king, and, I myself, be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written, to reverse the letters plotted by Haman, son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy thee Jews, who are in all the provinces of the king.
5 e disse: Se aprouver ao rei, e se tenho achado favor à sua vista, e se este negócio é reto diante do rei, e se eu lhe agrado aos seus olhos, escreva-se que se revoguem as cartas elaboradas por Hamã, o filho de Hamedata, o agagita, as quais ele escreveu para destruir os judeus que estão em todas as províncias do rei;
6 For how can I endure to see the ruin that shall overtake my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
6 pois como resistirei ver o mal que virá ao meu povo? Ou, como resistirei ver a destruição da minha parentela?
7 Then said King Ahasuerus unto Esther the queen, and unto Mordecai the Jew,Lo! the house of Haman, have I given unto Esther, and, him, have they hanged upon the gallows, because he thrust forth his hand against the Jews.
7 Então, o rei Assuero disse à rainha Ester e ao judeu Mardoqueu: Eis que dei a Ester a casa de Hamã, e a ele o enforcaram sobre a forca, porque ele lançou a sua mão contra os judeus.
8 Ye, therefore, write concerning the Jews as may seem good in your own eyes, in the name of the king, and seal it with the kings signet-ring,for a writing which hath been written in the kings name, and sealed with the kings signet-ring, none can reverse.
8 Escrevei vós também para os judeus, como preferirdes, em nome do rei, e selai-o com o anel do rei; porque o escrito que é feito em nome do rei, e selado com o anel do rei, homem nenhum pode reverter.
9 Then were called the kings scribes at that timein the third month, the same, is the month Siwan, on the twenty-third thereof, and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and unto the satraps and pashas and rulers of the provinces, which are from India even unto Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty-seven provinces, every province according to the writing thereof, and every people according to their tongue,and unto the Jews, according to their writing, and according to their tongue;
9 Então, foram chamados os escribas do rei naquela hora, no terceiro mês, que é o mês de sivã, no seu vigésimo terceiro dia; e foi escrito de acordo com tudo o que Mardoqueu ordenou aos judeus, e aos tenentes, e aos vice-reis e governantes das províncias que são desde a Índia até a Etiópia, cento e vinte e sete províncias, para cada província de acordo com a sua escrita, e para cada povo segundo a sua língua, e para os judeus de acordo com a sua escrita, e de acordo com a sua língua.
10 and he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, and sealed it with the kings signet-ring,and sent letters by the hand of runners on horses, riding the swift steeds used in the kings service, bred of the stud:
10 E ele escreveu em nome do rei Assuero, e selou isto com o anel do rei, e enviou cartas por mensageiros em lombo de cavalo, e montadores de mulas, camelos, e dromedários novos;
11 That the king had granted unto the Jews who were in every city, to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay and to cause to perishall the force of the people and province who should distress them, their little ones and women,and the spoil of them as a prey:
11 nas quais o rei concedeu aos judeus que estavam em cada cidade que se reunissem, e se levantassem pela sua vida, para destruir, matar, e fazer perecer, todo o poder do povo e da província que quisesse lhes atacar, tanto pequenos, como mulheres, e que se saqueassem os seus despojos, por uma presa,
12 upon one day, throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus,upon the thirteenth of the twelfth month, the same, is the month Adar:
12 em um dia, em todas as províncias do rei Assuero, a saber, no décimo terceiro dia do décimo segundo mês, que é o mês de adar.
13 A copy of the writing to be given, as an edict, throughout every province, was published to all the peoples,and that the Jews be ready against that day, to avenge themselves on their enemies.
13 A cópia do escrito para um mandamento a ser dado em cada província foi publicada a todo o povo, e para que os judeus estivessem preparados para aquele dia, para se vingarem dos seus inimigos.
14 The runners that rode on the swift steeds used in the kings service, went forth, being urged forward and pressed on, by the word of the king,and, the edict, was given in Shusan the palace.
14 Assim, saíram os mensageiros que montavam em mulas e camelos, apressados e pressionados avante pelo mandamento do rei. E o decreto foi dado no palácio de Susã.
15 And, Mordecai, went forth from the presence of the king, in royal apparel, of blue and white, with a large diadem of gold, and a mantle of fine linen and purple,and, the city Shusan, was bright and joyful.
15 E Mardoqueu saiu da presença do rei em vestes reais de azul e branco, e com uma grande coroa de ouro, e com uma vestimenta de linho fino e púrpura; e a cidade de Susã regozijou-se e alegrou-se.
16 To the Jews, had come light, and joy,and gladness and honour.
16 Os judeus tinham luz, e alegria, e regozijo e honra.
17 And, in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the word of the king and his edict did reach, joy and gladness, had the Jews,a banquet and a happy day,and, many from among the peoples of the land, were becoming Jews, for the dread of the Jews had fallen upon them.
17 E, em toda província, e em toda cidade, aonde chegou o mandamento do rei e o seu decreto, os judeus tiveram alegria e contentamento, um banquete e um bom dia. E muitos do povo da terra se tornaram judeus; porque o medo dos judeus lhes sobreveio.
